The biker gang is going after them this turn, so they have kinda become time critical.
I thought the achievement might be part of the reasoning, but assuming the slugs are the fire type Macargo that's still Gen 2. Other than that, they're time-sensitive and fire types, which as far as we know are very rare. So I understand the reasoning.
i guess time sensitivity's a pain, and missed opportunities would sort of suck even if we're always going to have actions available/ones we can't take
there's quite a few intrigue actions available (and some locked behind other things we would do) so i don't have fears about running out of them or anything, so i guess the real question is if any new ones end up as good or not. (if they're going to be better, it'd mean this might as well be dropped to make room for other ones, but if Slugma's better then we could wait on the other 2 current options (so long as they're not needed immediately) to get the better payoff overall? no way of telling that though :/)
i guess there's reasons to delay breaking the cordon (don't desperately need more actions, so long as there's no serious consequences for remaining stuck) and by holding off on messing around with the PKF copycat can do her personals before we take that action and boost it, but i worry the opportunity on that would also go away tbh, especially if we piss them off by taking pokemon right before they can? either we get busted and lose the chance, or they focus in an area we don't want and can't change that later, or even them collapsing due to other factions cracking down on them..
do you think the PKF having the slugma would make it more or less likely that they collapse? (if they have them they'd be stronger, but probably more aggressive and thus likely to become a problem Silph takes action against. good in the short term(uses their resources), bad in the long term(less cards to play against them, their reputation improves))

somewhat less opposed to doing it now, it'd be handy to have the slugma for an increase in our pokemon resources/research, just so long as it doesn't provoke the KPF as an enemy? what do you think the chance of that happening, or them doing something like catching some of the pokemon before we can and reducing the reward?
The only odd one out is Stewardship, which is why I'm considering Blood in the Water; it has the lowest DC
the hotel is the next lowest DC action at 50 base, so I'm sure it'll be fine when we'd roll 21+13? just need to get above a 26 or something, so nearly 3/4 chance of success. not certain to win, but in a similar vein Blood in the water's i think 4/5 chance of success could also end up failing, so the increase in risk isn't too bad for a notable increase in reward

I don't think that's how the game mechanics work? I'm pretty sure letting them get the Slugma is exclusively bad news for us.

We are fine if we roll at least 25 for the hotel actually.

Total amount of Bonuses: 21(Giovannia) + 13(Karen) * 1.1 (Karen's loyalty bonus) - 10 (Expenditure malus) = 25.3 ≈ 25

True DC = 50 - 25(Bonuses) = 25

Meanwgile for Blood in the Water:
True DC: 45 - 25(Bonuses) = 20

In other words means that we have an exactly 80% /⅘ chance to succeed on that action.

In such case I would rather have the omake modifier of "Friend or Foe" on hold

I...am uncertain if I should allow that, for it was already used last turn to deny Silph Co a chance to recruit a Vermillion-based Hero Unit already.

...Okay, since I didn't specify earlier that holding was an option, I will allow it. However, its duration is shortened to two turns because it was already activated in the previous turn once.

My apologies then
...Wait, another question
Silph can recruit to outside the City?
That was my main concern about the omake reward

regardless of if we're we're hiring or not, using the bonus means silph will take longer to have more/stronger hero buffed rolls, and i guess it would be especially good if we're not recruiting since that way there's less chance of heroes we want depleting, good catch? i think i was still assuming we were referring to a separate buff to our next recruiting action, whoops
I guessed so much, which I why I thought it was funny you still managed to correctly guess exactly right.
i was slightly off, right? since hitting a bit lower on rolls would also work for an exact success? but being wrong here is good news lol.

sorry, i forgot to respond previously. my reasoning for it not being bad is that while it wouldn't be as good as having them directly, PKF getting the Slugma is better than silph getting them (since we don't actively need to destroy the PKF but Silph might want to, so having better Pokemon could give them a better chance) and this keeps them out of Slph's hands without needing an action so it can safely be spent elsewhere.
if we also focus actions on influencing the PKF, then them having more/stronger Pokemon could even be a good thing since it'd make them a more useful pawn.

That would be @Kingster ´s buff
And considering everything mentioned...you convinced me, its better to not hire for the moment and focus on stewardship

I'm still not really seeing the appeal in letting the slugma go. We can easily take that and still influence the PKF afterwards. To be honest, I'm still a bit confused as to why this is even up for debate.

hope you don't mind, it's a moratorium so partially felt might as well
I, um...Those actions are in seperate catagories, we can do both.
maybe they meant lowercase stewardship, as in business stuff in general? or "focus on Stewardship, which needs this diplo action"?

I'm finally all caught up! It's good to involved in things again.

Here's my suggestion for a plan.
[ ] Discipline the Grunts
[ ] Slug Trail
[ ] Doctor Doctor!
[ ] Sterilizing the Hotel

[ ] Beam them Up
-Gio's Personals-
[ ] Shadow Your Research Staff
[ ] Meet with Brock
[ ] Meet with Sabrina
[ ] Hire a Secretary
-Hero's Personals-

[ ] Resume Your Personal Projects
[ ] Accept Challengers at the Ring
[ ] Learn how to ride a Bike
[ ] Have Rocket Study Murkrow
[ ] Tend to the Water Club
[ ] Talk to your Peers

* Disciplining the grunts will help us start to bring our men up to snuff. After that we can focus on getting them more varied Pokemon and the like.
* We cannot allow the Federation to snatch that Slug out from under us, it would be humiliating! Plus having it will help bolster our research.
* Getting Doctors and Sterilizing the hospital this turn will help us get everything out of the way to set up the hospital. It's been a big investment, but I'm certain it will pay off. Recruiting when we have some pretty solid heroes, and other things to do at the moment, might be a bit of a waste in my opinion.
* Admittedly I'd prefer to focus on more Pokemon aligned research, but having energy weapons we could sell or equip our people with couldn't hurt. We should get into general pokemon research, or talk to bill, or develop some more Pokeballs next turn when we don't have the malus. Though I could be convinced that we should focus on something else Learning wise.

* Meanwhile meeting with Sabrina (it's been so long~) and Brock are important. Getting a secretary could help us in the long run and lead to some interesting things. And nothing could hurt from looming over our researcher's shoulders for a bit to learn.

* Letting Ariana get back to her research could help us probe into some fun stuff.
* Surge did pretty well in the doubles fight, we can't have him neglect his side stuff too much. Laying out some kids will only lead to good things.
* Copycat learning how to operate two-wheeled motor vehicles will help her cover, and will let her get up to MORE mischief.
* We need to crack into the dark birds!
* Tending to the club might help Jack, and us, in the long run.
* Meowth should talk to the others! I think Copycat and him might get along well. Pun not withstanding.

Seems like a solid plan, and takes into consideration most of the discussed stuff
Would suggest giving it a name, I will vote for it

i've said it before so won't try to bludgeon you with every point, for clarity's sake this plan focuses on achievable DCs and gives us the combos of training+guns and both hospital requirements. misses Slugma but in exchange we get increased subversion of another faction, which should save us hassle in the future
