I'm definitely interested in those. I'll have to think about which one would be best, and which ones other people might want to do.
Even if someone else writes the same Bounty, more stories are always good. The important part is writing a story that you yourself wants to write.

Which reminds me, I have a 40% written omake I ought to do more work on…

Going to say this now instead of seemingly disappearing again, due to a few circumstances in my life, I have been very busy and will continue to be until after next week at the least, meaning I will have little time to work on RQ in this time span and progress will be...slow for the lack of a better word.

That being said, I also just didn't want to leave for a long period again without atleast leaving something in the meantime, so I have developed more Omakes for the Bounty Board! If you feel like being a writer, you can check out these or any of the other omakes for their rewards to see if any of them leap out at you. The new Bounties are as follow:

Observers
Despite what Silph Co insists, the Outbreak wasn't a quiet affair. Pokemon are a secret they try to keep away from the rest of the world, for the sake of themselves and others they claim.

They should know that there are some people in this city that you can't hide a thing from.

Premise: Write an onlookers perspective on the Pokemon Outbreak from the eyes of either WilyCorp, Eggdyne, Zeed, or Metapharm.

Reward(s): Varies
---
The One they Missed
They didn't know what they were looking at. The caged, snarling animal was something they had never seen before. Was it a native species, a mutant? Only two things are certain: That this beast was deadly was the first.

The second is that it came out of Neo-Kanto.

Premise: Write about an outside faction capturing a Pokemon that slipped through Silph's supervision.

Reward(s): Varies
---
Monsters Among Men
Chaos. That was the only way to describe it.

It was little more than a decade ago, yet it felt like eons. A rogue mutagen escaping a lab was enough to flip Neo-Kanto on its head. Mu infected almost everything it touched, turning it all into these…these monsters.

These creatures roamed the land with little heed to the humans that lived there, destroying anything that stood in their way while most of us were powerless to stop them. A few were capable of taming these beasts like pets, some sought to use that power for good, others for their own selfish goals. They were not enough though, not against the rising hundreds of 'Pokemon' that appeared everywhere Mu touched.

In a time before Pokeballs, before Rocket's brilliance, how could one live in such a place?

Premise: Write a story revolving around someone living in Neo-Kanto in the midst of the first Pokemon Outbreak.

Reward(s): +25 to the next Learning Action (Pokemon Research). Possibility of canon ascension.
---
Friend, Foe
She had wished to see her friend again one day.

Somewhere, a monkey's paw curls

Premise: Write a snippet about Erika after the Diglet Cave Incident

Reward: Silph Co will be prevented from recruiting new Hero Units for the next 2 turns. Possibility of canon ascension

Additionally, during this time I will providing more EXP than usual for regular omakes, which can be used to either boost rolls or to 'Consult the Game Guide' for answers about the world beyond Rocket themselves would know at the moment (baring some exceptions).

That is all. You're all tired of me saying things like this, but apologies for the delay.
The bounties look really fun, might try to write one of those. Is Professor Oak present in this setting? Might use him for one.

Also looking forward to the next episode!

Professor Samuel Oak is the inventor of the Silph Scope, the tool that made it possible to bring the Mu mutagen to this world to begin with. Because of this, he's known as the Father of Pokemon and the zone's chief expert in Pokemon research.

There probably isn't a soul in Neo-Kanto who doesn't know who he is, even if his public appearances outside Pallet Town have become increasingly rare, likely sequestered away in his lab to make the next breakthroughs in understanding the very creatures he's somewhat responsible for.

Awesome, thanks for the info!

Just wanted to know for Omake purposes, are only original video game characters in this verse, or is anyone who had a video game in that time?

Was asking cause Pipe town talks about weird turtles, and besides Koopas, the only ones I can think of are the ninja turtles.

In 8 Bit Dystopia it's supposed to be video game original characters only, and only for the first 5 to so console generations (So everything around the N64 and PS1 era and earlier. PS2 and Gamecube are too modern.) Since this is focused on Neo Kanto, it's also only generation 1 of Pokemon (with some room for Gen 2, potentially.)

I'm sure there are some grey areas for characters who appeared in more than one medium, but the TMNT got their start as a cartoon so I don't think they fit.

Essentially what Griffin said. While the original 8BD did have the Foot Clan, Deluxe had them replaced with ZEED and makes an effort to only include settings that had their start as video games.

That being said, gen lock is more of a soft rule rather than a hard rule. While it is encouraged to maintain or atleast stick to series that had their start in the first five console gens (So like, no Halo or anything), I wouldn't want that to stop any of you from writing any of your ideas for omakes.

Friend, Foe | GenoWhirl (Semi-Canon)
Friend, Foe
In the heart of Celadon City, where vibrant urban life meets lush green spaces, there once lived two young Trainers, Erika and Kaede. When they were younger, they had been great friends because of their shared love for nature. For Erika, it made sense; she adored the scents emanating from the fields. On the other side, Kaede's affection for the fields was a bit more unusual, given her allergy to certain flowers.

Despite this, Erika knew that Kaede's determination was unwavering, as Kaede's allergy to certain flowers had never deterred her from pursuing her passion for botany. With relentless effort and resilience, she had managed to overcome these challenges and secure an internship with Silph's prestigious botany division.

Erika admired Kaede's tenacity and dedication, knowing that her friend's hard work had finally paid off. Unfortunately, this also meant Kaede would be moving to a different city, which meant the two friends would not see each other for a long time. To make matters worse, she stopped hearing news of her after the M-U outbreak incident.

Erika´s ability to befriend the creatures produced from the incident lead her to the Pocket Rangers giving her authority as the leader of Cedalon´s division. She immediately accepted, not only because she felt she could do a good job taking care of the creatures, but also because deep down, she had wished to see her friend again…Somewhere a Monkey Paw curled…And the incident at the Diglett Cave happened.

When Erika was asked about the incident and her connection to it, she grappled with her response. On one hand, she had always promised honesty to the Rangers; on the other, she was determined to uncover why Kaede had become involved in Team Rocket's heist, plus, she would feel guilty of betraying her friend in a way she would end up being seen as part of said gang. Thus, when questioned about the leaders of the operation, she claimed not to recognize any of the individuals involved.

Despite this, Erika knew she couldn't remain idle. As the local Ranger leader, she began to hear rumors about "Pocket Monsters Fight Clubs" emerging around Pewter, Vermillion, and Saffron. There were even whispers that the youngest of the Sensational Sisters in Cerulean intended to open her own club—a rumor Erika initially dismissed, given their reputation as performers rather than fighters.

Determined to take action, Erika decided to establish her own Fight Club in Celadon. She hoped it would attract trainers from across the region, potentially providing valuable information about Team Rocket's activities. If she was fortunate, she thought, she might even lure some of the organization's higher-ups to Celadon. Time would tell wether the next time she met Kaede would be as a friend or as a foe.

Well now, ain't this a pleasant surprise to get back home to! Well done GenoWhirl, I will be marking this as Semi-Canon and Silph Co will be having quite a bit of trouble gaining new talent in the coming turns!

And, yes, I am not dead, nor is this quest...despite my sudden and lengthy absence. Apologies for that and thank you all for your patience, I'm cautiously optimistic that soon my life issues will finally be sorted and my muse can return to me, allowing me to hopefully, regularly update.

Hopefuly this means we can do some hiring before they start doing so

And dont worry about it, hopefuly everything goes for the better

Interlude: Saffron Showdown Part 7
(Giovanni's War of Attrition vs Hitmonchan)
51 + 16 = 67 vs 1 + 16 = 19
Hit!
Hitmonchan is debuffed for 3 turns, subtracting 10 from their offensive rolls and 20 from their defensive rolls

(Surge's Volt Blitz vs Poliwrath)
17 + 32 + 5 (Lighting Lieutenant) + 15 (Volt Blitz) = 74 vs 64 + 18 = 82
Miss

(Mike's Rain of Fists vs Raichu)
70 + 32 = 102 vs 18 + 16 - 10 (Debuff) = 24
Miss

(Aaron's Hypnosis vs Persian)
84 + 18 + 20 (War of Attrition) = 122 vs 46 + 18 = 64
Miss

The fight opens with Persian's roar, followed by a flash of lightning as the Lieutenant orders his Raichu to strike out against the Poliwrath with a Thunderbolt. Seeming to expect this, the Poliwrath narrowly avoided the electrical attack with a sidestep as the Hitmonchan, shaken but undeterred, rushed forward to meet Surge's Raichu with a barrage of Mach Punches that the disciplined Pokemon blocked with ease.

Focusing on this almost makes you miss your Persian, which has been staring down at the Poliwrath, slouch ever so slightly. That told you enough as you silently cursed your forgetfulness. While Poliwrath was a Water and Fighting hybrid, it also had a fair share of compatible moves that didn't fall under either category. One of which was Hypnosis, which your Persian was now slowly falling under unless you act fast.

You snap your fingers and a sharp sound echoes through the air, snapping Persian out of its fog before it snarled in rage at the Poliwrath.

Frowning, you contemplate your next moves. While you failed to seize the initiative, you still had a thin advantage, which is enough for you to achieve an overwhelming victory.

Who does Persian target?
[] The Poliwrath
[] The Hitmonchan

What strategy does Giovanni deploy?

-[ ] (Strategy) Killshot
Focus entirely for an offensive push by rushing your target and trying to incapacitate it with a well-aimed Slash.
(+20 to the offensive and damage rolls that turn, -20 to the defensive roll if attacked that turn)

-[ ] (Strategy) War of Attrition
Through a combination of Persian's Screech and Growl abilities, you could minimize the threat your target risks to you by depowering both their offensive and defensive capabilities for a time.
(+20 to the defensive roll that turn, success does not do any damage but gives your target -10 in offensive rolls and -20 in defensive rolls for the next 2 turns)

-[ ] (Strategy) Cat and Mouse
With Persian's superior speed, deploy a hit-and-run strategy and wear down your target while always remaining just out of their reach.
(+10 to the offensive and defensive rolls that turn.)

There's no time to give detailed plans, but Giovanni could give Surge a general order. Does he?

-[ ] (Surge) "Go on the offensive and target…"
–[ ] "The Poliwrath"
–[ ] "The Hitmonchan"

-[ ] (Surge) "Stay on the defensive and be ready to intercept any attacks that come our way"

-[ ] (Surge) "Use Leer to weaken our enemies' defenses."

-[ ] (Surge) No, you trust the Lieutenant to act wisely on his own.

We've got to finish off that thing before it hypnotizes anyone.

Also I really don't want 10 more turns of us debuffing and doing little damage. I want the quest to progress, I'm so excited for the next part!

Offense and defense, yay!

-[X] (Surge) No, you trust the Lieutenant to act wisely on his own.
Look, the Lightning Lieutenant has yet to dissuade me of letting him be in charge.

... That pun was not intentional.

Shouldn´t we debuff that Poliwrath?
I mean, it seems to have a high defense to the point Surge is having issues on hitting it.

Surge rolled 47 lower on his dice than Aaron and barely missed. He can, statistically speaking, handle it most of the time.

Speaking of:
(Surge's Volt Blitz vs Poliwrath)
17 + 32 + 5 (Lighting Lieutenant) + 15 (Volt Blitz) = 74 vs 64 + 18 = 82
Shouldn't Surge have gotten a +20 here due to Type Advantage?

This pace is brutal, something's definitely going to have to change for future battles. Maybe make it 1 hour flash votes, give us the results of the rolls, them have another vote and only do the writeups after all of them or something? I dunno.

Either that or let our choose strategy be used for multiple turns instead of choosing a strategy for each combat turn.

Does the debuff stack? We already did it last turn and it says it would last 2 turns.

Agreed 100%. We don't need turn by turn like the game, just let us state a strategy for like half the match, then a chance to change it up in the middle, perhaps with a final third if it's really important and we might lose if we do nothing.

Rereading the inital bit on Pokemon battles, I realize I may not have worded it clearly. You've notice how I will roll a separate roll if the offensive attacker succeeds to hit, to determine how much damage is done? Type advantage is only applied to that roll and not to the roll that determines whether the attack hits or not, much like how a move's effectiveness in traditional pokemon games does not influence its hit chance.

So, to elaborate, if Surge did succeed to hit then +20 would be added to his damage roll against Poliwrath.

On another note, I've seem to have forgotten to add in the vote on which enemy pokemon you would like Persian to target. Apologies and it has been fixed.

Whichever action takes Surge, debuffing the Poliwrath will certainly help him

That being said if we take this course of action, we might need to use War of Atrition after this one again to debuff Hitmonchan again though (since after this the two turns will be done)

EDIT: Due to the unlikelyness of it getting chosen, decided to change my "Debuffing Poliwrath" to an "Attack and Dodge Hitmonchan"
