Loyalty is its own Reward (A Traitor Legion Chapter Master Quest)

This just maybe me being a grumpy Dawi but I really don't see the point for most of these name changes besides making it harder to immediately understand who is what.

Like Trabanti? Bah what wrong with good old Honor guard!

Also like how every planet has its onw flavor of curse words
I want to see one of our marines go on a tirade using various Slavic curse words lmao
Kurwa Blyat etc

This doesn't make any sense. Sotnuk from sontnia aka hundred.
Starshyna have sense, but using it as low rank officer it's not old slavic, it new (and mostly Russian).

[X] Plan The Most Dangerous Game
I am open for ideas if you can find names for our luitenant and sergeants i am all ears i took what is old slavic and what others put forth

Again, "boyar", "Volkhv", "stelci" and other will shift chapter naming style from Slavic in general to russian with minor other slavic elements (in title naming).

(Random Soldier, PDF of Podvod V PoV)

I don't know how I am still alive. This was meant to be just usual culling of Feral Orks, but it's massacre. My loader is dead, his chest pierced by spear longer than he was tall. My PDF company's Commissar died even earlier, in "Gnoblar ambush"

That's most probably miracle from God-Emperor, so I am continuing operating my Heavy Bolter by myself, hoping to kill as much frakking Xenos as I can, before God-Emperor calls me to his Palace.

Then, I heard weird whistle from above. It seems that Orks hear it too, because they stopped fighting, and looked upwards... with happiness.

-"Ready, Boyz! Beakiez 're comming!"- said Feral Nob leading particular group of Orks in front of me.

I didn't have much time to guess what "Beakiez" are, because unknown object finally impacted the ground, causing cloud of dust.

This caused me to be unable to identity who or what came out, but I heard their shouts, that clearly belonged to Abhumans.

-"For Primarch Sanguinus...!"-
-"...and His Blood within all of us!"-

-"Emperor's Angels. I hope that this means that God-Emperor finds me worthy."- that's all that I managed to mutter, before I finally lost counciousness

(Inquisitor Emil Dargix, Ordo Astartes PoV)

Podvod V is just another step of my hunt for Heralds of Betrayal, Changer-worshipping spawn of 20th Legion. Valkyrie that I borrowed from local PDF lands near ruins of something that was most probably field hospital.

Normal man would dismiss dead PDF soldiers as just victims of Orks, but "insight" granted by my psychic powers, allows me to distinguish wounds made by Xenos and victims of Chaos Space Marines.

Thanks to "help" of Battle-Brother Neraphiel from Angels of Vengeance Chapter, all I need to find out what "name" Traitors took this time, is corpse with intact head.

After we find such, Neraphiel takes off his helmet, then (much less carefully) does the same to helmet of dead PDF soldier. He then removes part of soldier's skull and eats his brain.

-"This time Traitors's impersonated Blood Bearers. Name itself isn't present in soldier's memories, but he memorized their battlecry."- descendant of 1st Legion informed me.

-"There is a pattern. Guilliman's Fists, Successor Chapter of Ultramarines. Angels Flagellant, Successor Chapter of Dark Angels. Now, Blood Bearers, Successor Chapter of Blood Angels"- I respond. I feel that I know what are motives of this particular Warband.

They most probably feel that "Imperium Secundus" that Roboute Guilliman, Sanguinus and Lion El'Johnson briefly tried to create during Horus Heresy, before coming to save Imperium, makes them as much traitors as Traitor Legions.

I quickly return to Valkyrie with Neraphiel, after PDF soldiers escorting us "were killed in Ork ambush". I need to quickly consult Emperor's Tarot about where these Traitors will strike next, and burn most of my favors, because stakes potentially are collossal.

[X] Plan: Justice is Our Calling
-[X] Judge, Jury, Executioner: Laws can be written, re-written, erased, and ignored by the highest of kings and the lowest of scum, but Justice does not care for words written, nor for words spoken. It cares only what one has done, and nothing more. (Brothers of the Chapter are encouraged and lauded for fighting for a just cause beyond the call of duty, be it defending a refugee camp, fighting in coordination with the Guard, or holding members of planetary governments (discreetly) accountable for their crimes.)
-[X] Court of Night: With the passing of time, the Night of Fright has given rise to performances by the marines of the chapter, ones not so discreetly encouraged by Catalina. These performances are theatrical in nature, plays of both comedy and tragedy, though they are heavily influenced by the fantastical and monstrous of Luctusian fairy tales. Another common aspect to these plays is their tendency to lean on "mystery" (murder mysteries, investigations, etc.). These plays are not exclusive to the Night of Fright, and feature heavily in whatever other celebrations the Mist Shrikes partake in.
-[X] The Feast of Talons: on the first day of the new Luctusian year, a tournament of war games will be held. The first day will feature a competition where squads of the chapter will face each over in non-lethal combat throughout the Fortress Monastery. The second day will feature a series of duels, where the winner will being awarded with a badge of honor, marking him as a winner of the competition. The final day will be a day of feasting and reverly, where the chapter may relax and simply enjoy the company of their brothers. (Mechanical)

Going to be staying away from the position renaming since it's just harder to determine who's actually what unless you're familiar with those languages. It doesn't make too much sense when you know that the Chapter uses Nostroman, not Luctusian as their language of choice.

The renaming everything into words I can't pronounce kind of kills it for me tbh. The concept is cool and all, but to put in practice is kinda chunky.

OKay @Fenrir44 Gave all these a once over. Tell me what you think

-[] Fluff Tradition: Court of Night:
--[] With the passing of time, the Night of Fright has given rise to performances by the marines of the chapter, ones not so discreetly encouraged by Catalina. These performances are theatrical in nature, plays of both comedy and tragedy, though they are heavily influenced by the fantastical and monstrous of Luctusian and Braicaman fairy tales. Another common aspect to these plays is their tendency to lean on "mystery" (murder mysteries, investigations, etc.)
---Added Braicaman to the mix, but otherwise a good one. With your permission, will fold this into an altered Comedy and Tragedy write-in.

-[] Fluff Tradition: Honor badge wings of valor:
--[] In a small divergence from the Codex, the Wings of Valor shall replace the Laurels of Victory. Golden wings of valor are given to those who did a great feat that helped a campaign reach victory (Example: Konstyantyn saving the cardinal, Mikhail saving the Admiral). Platinum wings are just like the laurels, given to those who secured victory for the campaign at large (Example: Spatha killing the Genestealer), and are placed onto the side of the helmet and point behind the space marine (think of the wings of hermes's helmet). The Marine in question may choose whether they have full formal wings, or an insignia that is stamped onto the armor. The wings consist of the following elements;
---A Campaign Badge that carries the planet and year of the campaign in question, either in the center of the wings or at the junction where the wings attach
---Two symbols on the wings - one has the Company insignia inside the Chapter symbol, the other has the name of the recipient.
---The wings or stamp will be detachable.
------A decent idea, tightened it up and altered the details a bit so it could work equally well as full formal wings or as a stamp.

-[] Fluff Tradition: Honor badge mark of resilience:
--[] This badge is given to Marines who are wounded or died in battle. For those who are seriously wounded (missing limbs, sus-an-membrane coma kicks in, etc.) and recover they receive this badge after the battle is finished. It takes the form of a red-winged and blue-skulled Aquila and coming from the Aquila ( weaved metal for astartes use) a small blue banner; written in white letters either a taunt or litany of hatred against the foe that wounded them. If the marine died then during their funeral the badge's aquila colors are reversed and on the red banner, gold text talks about their service before death.
---I understand where this is coming from, but given that Astartes do not have families at home per se, I'm not sure I see the value in a badge to mark great injuries received when cybernetics and the armor decoration will do that, and deaths are already marked by the Sarcophagi tradition.

-[] Fluff Tradition: Vault of Blades
--[] Together with the regular design of Power Sword, minor tweaking of the design to incorporate special variants of blades will be added as options. In particular, Luctusian sabers and falchions (of which there are many different sorts), Braicaman hand-and-half swords, and blade designs from friends of the Chapter will be included. Swordsmanship that exploits the unique characteristics of each blade are encouraged, as is seeking out new blade designs and sword styles to add to the Vault.
---Expanded it to be a general inclusion of cool blade designs, though given that our recruits are mostly Luctusian I expect to see those types being prominent. Borrowed for my own plan, if you will.

-[] Fluff Tradition: The Beast Masters
--[] The Chapter Master's Honor Guard will be recognized by customized artificial antlers on the helmet (designed to imitate the Mist Deer, and not be a hindrance in combat) as well as a Shroud Wolf pelt from a specimen of said wolf they hunted and skinned themselves. Said pelt may be further modified by each Honor Guard, pending approval.
---I don't explicitly mind them being called druzyna, but if you've got a Slavic name for Beast Masters I think that would better fit their aesthetic as incorporating multiple elements of Luctus into their costumes. Added the option for further customization and a stipulation that the antler's not be a hindrance.

-[] Fluff Tradition: Shrike Wings:
--[] On Jump Packs, Bikes, and Attack Bikes (and Jetbikes if those ever become available), custom mountings for "wings" of metal slats, Sadist Shrike feathers, and appropriately noisy other bits of Luctusian fauna will be incorporated where desired. The wings themselves will be designed to shriek and howl, inspiring terror.
---Winged Hussars are great, and all these avenues are appropriate for that kind of thing. Just editing to clean up grammar, and I'll incoporate this one into my plan if you will.

-[] Fluff Tradition: Stone Gardens:
--[] In their free time, Battle Brothers are invited to make stone statues, carvings, and other artwork in areas of the Monastery where it will not interfere with defense or other functions. Subject to appropriate approval, much is allowed - traditional gargoyles and Imperial iconography, Luctusian animals and landscapes, Braicaman paintings and statues - so on and so forth. Serfs are also invited to participate alongside the Battle Brothers. In particular, the Halls of Remembrance will have artwork recording the campaigns and acts of the Mist Shrikes to enhance the displays. All this work in the Halls will lead to a grand display (think Sistine Chapel, Taj Mahal, Lake Bled, so forth) of the Chapter as a whole in action.
---Condensed it a bit to allow all stated options with fewer words, as well as stipulating it not screw up other functions. Otherwise, a potentially good idea.
------This could actually be a really cool Mechanical tradition for the next vote, where the Librarius and Chaplaincy incorporates anti-psychic wards and whatnot into the artwork. We don't have enough Librarians and chaplains to do it now, but something to keep in mind for the next round.

-[] Fluff Tradition: Hands of Service: When a marine reach's veteran status they can engrave their gauntlets to mark their status as a veteran. The right gauntlet is engraved with the shrike of the chapter and the left is engraved to depict a deed that the marine has accomplished before their promotion to veteran status.
---Changed the "will" to "can" for those who don't want to, otherwise a nice idea.

-[] Fluff Tradition: Wings of Leadership: Instead of having the standers crest of captaincy, captains will have Silver metal wings on the side of their helmets to mark their rank(like the Night Lords batwings)
---A good idea on its own, but runs into two problems - will the 10th company want silver metal wings making it harder for them to scout and marking them as officers (will the officers in general want that?), and will the Chapter want a tradition that harkens back to the old Night Lords that everyone's devoted to killing and the Founders in particular hate?

---[] 10th Company Sharpshooters: Strelci for plural and Strelec as singular .(Marksmen)
---[] 10th Company Vanguards: Kandze for plural and Kandza as singular (Talons)
--[] Captains: boyar
--[] luitenant: Sotnyk
--[] sergeant: Starshyna
--[] Chapter Master: Voivod/Knyaz(which ever the QM deems fit)

I don't know what these translate to, can you give me the English? And someone raised concerns about better names for the 10th Company, so something fanciful would be appreciated.

[X]Plan cultural revolution:

-[X] newcompany names
--[X] 2nd Company - Prazninu Prekidači (void breakers, serbian latin)
--[X] 3rd Company - Vorp Bejne (Warp banes in serbian latin)
--[X] 10th Company - Nostra Najbolji (our best, mix of latin and serbian latin)

-[X] Name changes for rankings

--[X] Librarians: Mudrec
--[X] Chaplains: Volkhv
--[X] Captains: boyar
--[X] luitenant: Starshyna
--[X] sergeant: Bogatyr
--[X] Chapter Master: Czar

-[X] Fortress monestary name:
--[X] Morskoygrad (Marine castle in russian)

-[X]Traditions:
--[X] fluff; Vault of Blades: Together with the regular design of Power Sword, minor tweaking of the design to incorporate special variants of blades will be added as options.

--[X]fluff; honor badge sharpshooter's charm: Thanks to one rouge trader Caerbannog Rabbits are not rare around luctus and are a known problem. So in the early days of the chapter, the chapter master decided to kill two birds with one stone. Thus, instead of getting the marksmen's honor of hanging the bolt shell of the Primarch, those that have good marksmen ship get a rabbit's foot with the metal part being made of platinum (or gold if the marine wants) and studded with gems.

--[X] fluff; Honor badge wings of valor: In a small divergence from the Codex, the Wings of Valor shall replace the Laurels of Victory. Golden wings of valor are given to those who did a great feat that helped a campaign reach victory (Example: Konstyantyn saving the cardinal, Mikhail saving the Admiral). ---Two symbols on the wings - one has the Company insignia inside the Chapter symbol, the other has the name of the recipient.
---The wings or stamp will be detachable.

--[X]fluff; Customized gauntlets: Opposite of the bloody red hands of the days of the VIII Legion, thanks to efforts of the nostromans veterans have been decorating their gauntlets, and some with the help of the tech marines, had their gauntlets engraved. Seeing this Severus mandated that all veterans (with the optional exception of specialists) would have to have their gauntlets engraved and customized, and like their armor, their gauntlets could be customized however they wanted. The only mandated part is that two symbols be on the tops of the gauntlet's hands, The left gauntlet (the shooting hand) must have the symbol of the marine's homeworld (a Luctus animal or a Braicamian noble crest for example) or the company's symbol. In contrast, the right (or sword hand) must have the symbol of the chapter.

--[X] fluff; insults to the damned: It started with the serfs with them carving insults into their auto weapon bullets, the marines saw this and thought it would be a good way to demoralize their enemies with righteous insults. For example, one marine had a clip of insult-laden ammo saved for some thousand suns, some of these insults include "how's Prospero doing?" and "Prepare to become more like your primarch.".

--[X] fluff; Stone Gardens: In their free time, Battle Brothers are invited to make stone statues, carvings, and other artwork in areas of the Monastery where it will not interfere with defense or other functions. Subject to appropriate approval, much is allowed - traditional gargoyles and Imperial iconography, Luctusian animals and landscapes, Braicaman paintings and statues - so on and so forth. The wings themselves will be designed to shriek and howl, inspiring terror.

--[X]Mechanical; champion capes: Due to the gripes of the master of the forge one of the champions decided to create a cape that had all the names of notable foes he has defeated. Seeing an opportunity to cut down on work Karak Zel decided to design two types of capes, the first was a more ceremonial cape, it has the symbol of the chapter and in golden writing the names of all those who came before. For example, DuPont's ceremonial cape has his name and Spatha's name. The second is that of the cape of felled foes, like the ceremonial cape this also has names on it, however, not only does it miss the chapter's logo on the cape, but it has all the names of notable enemies that the champion has felled. The idea is that if the other marines see the cape their spirits would life as this is a man who slayed enemies aplenty, while those same enemies would dread facing down someone who ate their best like breakfast.

Edit:
Did a major overhaul with both the refinements of CanYouMeme above and Dark Baobab's translations below. Also I made two mechanical traditions, the one above that will give us new possible artifacts, or the other not vetoed one mist shrouds allowing our assault marines to stealth. Any thoughts on those?

Ok. I finally near pc.
If you like "Sotnyk'
Chapter master -> Tysiatskii - Wikipedia . Could be used "Voevoda", "Hetman", "Knyaz"
captain -> Sotnyk (aka in charge of hunred)
Lieutenant -> outdated
Sergeant -> "desiatnuk" ( aka in charge of ten)
Old Russ' worlds.
Volkhv -> It's pagan priest ( that could magic). Wiseman (as you claimed) -> " Mudrec' " (or how it pronounce in each language)
Boyar -> yep, its used in Russ' and successors. But this associated mostly with Russian boyars ( Moskovian).
Strelci -> bruh, This is not funny. You could claim what you want.
družyna -> again, this also means "wife". Better not to use this world.

And you could claim what you want. I'm from Ukraine and I see that you use mostly russian specific terms.
