Solar Auxilia Officer Quest. A 30k Early Great Crusade quest.

@Mayto sorry this has already been asked, but will we have an option to distribute special weapons to our rifle sections? Some plasma guns would be nice.
You'll get Blast Chargers eventually. Those make your Lasrifles much deadlier.

Distributing Special Weapons? Ehhh. That's not really the vibe the Solar Auxilia have.

I think to get actual relic weapons we would have to cultivate ties with the mechanicum, inherit a family relic, get specially recognized by the emperor, be considered a veteran ourselves, become the retainer of cohort commander, be a legate commander at the minimum, or get a name whatever reward you want favor for doing something amazing like saving the life of someone super important. The best we could get otherwise is volkite.

Special weapons teams just aren't the remit of the Solar Auxilia, that's the sort of stuff they currently call in the Imperial Army if they need.

deployments and sections choice is to be separate.

Like @RandomTechPriest already mentioned previously, the plan would be using those Ogryns since their stats are really good especially if we want a meat shield that can just hold and hold and hold and they have 2d6+3 on melee combat which is very good even more than Space marine and means they have a high chance of winning any melee they fight in. so the question is which units to pair them up with I am torn between either going for -Veletaris Rotor-Cannon Support Section or -Veletaris Volkite Support Section: and I am not sure which one would kill more chaf cause of the volkite trait Deflagrate: which would mean if they kill one chaf they should also kill another, which is kinda like the rotor canon But I may be wrong.
So plan for now would be
[]Plan: Ogryn shields for P, and T
-[] Solar Auxilia Charonite Ogryn Section
-[] Veletaris Volkite Support Section

as for deployments I am fine with both Proteus and Triton but completely against Nereid cause we are weak against elite units and will likely have casualties every time we face them so this is why the plan I put should be good for both proteus and Triton since it give us a meet shield while giving us a good unit to kill most things with. the only caveat would be the rotor canon could be better for proteus If I understood the rotor canon trait wrong.

The loss of men sucks, but if it made the campaign a little easier, then it was worth it. Soldiers fight to end wars, their loss will not have been in vain.

You take a piece of white cloth from your belt and offer it to the Astartes. "There's some brain left on your lips." You state matter of factly.

Khorban examines the piece of white cloth you offer him. He follows your motions and wipes his mouth with it, cleaning off the brain remnants. He then eats the handkerchief and puts his helmet back on.

There is a brief chuckle, before you quickly get everybody focused on the task at hand, trying not to feel either too amused or embarrassed about what you just did.
I love brief interactions like this. Our relationship with the Reveant Legion is looking to be interesting.
This is the moment where you will shine.
Bro, be careful with tempting Fate in 40k.

Guys. We are French, not some barbaric Albians. Ogryns didn't feat in our style

Storm-Axe Support is better than Ogryns from a prestige standpoint and from a command stand point. Do you really want to try and balance controlling the violent tendencies of the astartes AND Ogryns when the guardian trait from the Axe Support sections will help with the bodyguard role? They are also less cool looking.

Yeah the casualties suck and our surviving troops being distrustful of us hurts to. They might come around once the stages of grief are over and they realize our actions saved thousands of lives. Or they might hate us forever. It doesn't matter much as long as they follow orders. And the odds of us having to deal with them through the entire thirty years of a Solar Auxilia tour of duty is slim.

We are trying to project an image here and do we want that image to include Ogryns? Also, the Mechancum dislike and barely tolerate ogryns so in addition to the rep hit we may also make it harder to get access to the good stuff.

[X]Plan: Heavy Fire Support

-[X]Solar Auxilia Rapier Support Section
-[X]Veletaris Storm-Axe Support Section

If we pick up another Rapier to make sure we can keep the initiative on the defense I bet we'll be able to handle Nereid's higher quality units, especially as we aren't split between an offensive and defensive campaign there. We were already taking casualties every time we faced the taskmasters and swarms, so I feel it happening on Nereid isn't that big a deal, and I expect it will happen on Triton too. Also: fine dining on the sunny beach resort moon.

[X]Plan: World Burners
This plan looks like it works with the world we're likely going to though.

for me the problem here would be the flamer section it's shooting is 5+ which means most time they won't hit, for those 2 points you could put instead the volkite or the rotary cannons which are just better.

So I think the trait that allows them to shoot 3 times at the start of melee, their capability of damaging heavy armor, and their lack of suffering from the -3 combat penalty in melee make up for that. I did consider rotary though but I went with flamer instead for the aforementioned reasons and for the possible help flames could be put to use on the living moon.

Lov me Volkite, lov me Ogryn, lov fighting hundreds of enemies at the same time. Simple as.

What is the rule for collecting trophies during a campaign.
There are 2 rules that a item must pass for us to keep it.

Rule 1: Dont be illegal
Rule 2: Dont be special enough for someone more important to take notice

thing is Even if they shoot 3 times the chance that they will hit the 5+ hits even once isn't very high while with rotary cannons when they shoot 2 times they have a 3+ chance of hitting for each time and for melee you already have the storm axe for that. And if someone more knowledgeable on tabletop w40k can tell me shots mean that each time a unit shoot it shoots 2 time or 3 times?
