Like, there is almost certainly SOMETHING we don't know that's going on about her given the amount of time Blackout spent on writing her out heavily suggesting there's a plot hook involved. But again, we have our Chaos detecting Swordmasters with us so...

Why assume that the plot thread is something bad? Maybe it's something good, or just an opportunity to help out someone even more friendless and homeless than Fanriel. The idea that things were written about someone therefore we must be suspicious of them is deeply odd to me. That's not how stories work...any new character intended to be important in any way will get written about more. Assuming that's always a bad thing is paranoid in the worst way.

I highly doubt she's vampiric of any kind. That's the sort of thing which would preclude being used as a ritual sacrifice. Heck, being seconds away from being ritually sacrificed/soul torn away to summon a daemon prince disqualifies a lot of possible infiltration attempts.

This is also definitely a factor, yeah. If she was a vampire, she wouldn't have been where we found her.

I read this as "Blackout had an idea to add a named character who would check some of the boxes we've been talking about, and wanted to do a quick update and let us exercise player agency over whether to hire her."

I'm not assuming that it's necessarily something bad. Just saying that she's probably more important then just being a good scout given how common those probably are, and us specifically finding her as a captive held by a corrupting force like Chaos. Remember where Aenarion found Morathi?

I played a quest once where the QM used Lahmians and the Changeling to great effect against the players. Very fun game, but perhaps the experience has left me a bit overly wary about these sort of things...

Yeah, Blackout doesn't strike me as the kind of QM who would give us a massive trap option like a spontaneous recruit being a Choas cultist. Sure, we will watch her, but I don't think she's one.

The guard lets go of the woman and turns to face you properly- and then takes a step backward, craning his neck to meet your gaze.
Btw I'm glad we took Chracian blood, it's the gift that keeps on giving.

[] Yes, you need all the manpower you can get.

A skilled scout and archer who knows the terrain of Troll Country? This is great!

She sure would have been useful in feeding that Demigryph without leaving a Swordmaster behind....

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Imperious is just being paranoid. She's getting the attention she is getting b/c she fills out a niche that we've been very vocal in the thread about filling, but the downside is that she's from an ethnic group that is widely hated which could cause complications with any other recruits or even employers.

Our first human recruit.

Frankly, I kind of knew some people would wish to join us for one reason or the other and gratitude is one of the better ones. No need to turn away a scout and hunter with knowledge of Troll Country. Should she have something on her mind, we are more than capable of handling the problem.
Yet, apparently they still clung to life more fiercely than you thought.
Because they have the special Trait: Sisu.

We're still going to want local scouts for troll hunting but the skillset in general is a good add.

She's no seagull tho.

No matter how much I like to argue during votes, it's sometimes refreshing to have one where you don't need to fight teeth and claws for your favourite outcome.
