You know, the fact that I've seen three of my four top choices right now mentioned makes me happy. Tinkatink, Rookidee, and Fletchling. Just because of personal bias, a Golett or maybe even a Heracross would be nice too.

I don't know if Arvis mentioned item's usage in the quest yet, however, it'd be real cool to put some items on our mons to increase their effectiveness. I know what I'd want to do is: find the nearest Scyther, give it an eviolite, teach it roost, swords dance, substitute, and fury cutter. I know it's a bonkers set, but a set like this could solo basically anything, even if they 4x resist Bug moves (Scyther was a mentioned mon people might want).

EDIT:
I wouldn't count on an Eviolite regardless either, I think those are diegetically pretty rare, and pure power gaming of that nature is a lot less likely to go off without complication in a quest vs. in a video game.
Fair, fair. I just like Scyther, one of my favorite mons of all time, but they're very rarely used in-game or in fanfiction. Probably just because I had the most fun in my life solo-running games with a Scyther.

Hey the pictures of humans on the info posts are back, although not Roland or Renne on the trainer card yet.

Also I coincidentally looked at the thread summary and I guess I'm slow here, but this is the first time I noticed an important word there, namely: the late Samuel Oak. Wonder what happened to the old coot, if it's relevant, and what Leaf and her buddies from the KanJoh games know.

Only mentions so far is that held items exist (our family knife can be used as one by a Mon with hands) and that for some reason they're not allowed in League matches below 4 badges. While I've stated my preference for stuff like Scizor before (because it's cool, But Heracross is also cool, bug types are just cool tbh), I'm honestly down to just rolling the dice and seeing what happens.

Like, I never used an Espurr before in Pokémon, barely even knew it existed, but at this point I don't think I can imagine Mary's team without Renne, adorable little attempted murderer that she is.

I trust Arvis to make whatever we get something interesting and cool.

It definitely seems like it wold be less of a hassle to catch another Pokemon here. Grass types and water types are both staples of a well rounded team. Mariana has a Dragon/Ghost and a Psychic. I'd encourage finding something less esoteric.

I think it's been a couple of decades since Red and Blue did their thing, so he could just be dead of old age?

The Golett needs to go to Elise.

And she'll never get to use it. It's just going to be endless "I choose you, Vali-" "That won't be necessary." as happens whenever Rean tries to call in his Gundam.

Well, I suppose he's gone the way of the most prestigious scientist of Zemuria.

Now we just need to keep an eye out for any descendants, adopted or otherwise, teaming up with an edgy soft hearted guy with a blue coat living in the grey area of the law.

Except Wes is probably dead. So Blue or Daisy's adopted daughter will have to find someone else.

Bah, full on esoterica! Fairy/Dark/Ghost/Psychic or riot! Ramp up the gap moe! Sweetheart with the most powerful mom instincts around whose team is made of nightmares!

Even if Tinkatink isn't potentially on the table, ruins seem more likely to lead to something interesting.

Hm. I wasn't sure if Oak would be the unfortunately named Professor C., but I guess he could be. Daisy being Blue's older sister and some liberal adoption laws could also result in an Agnes who'll work in this timeline, so I'm gonna rate this speculation a plausible.

As I mentioned, I like this plot hook better than the other one. Also, the plausible Pokemon selection feels slightly more interesting, though I'm not married to trying to get anything specific.

Our macro choices in the Nemona plotline are definitely gonna be "damage ourselves trying to keep up", "give up" or "justify using Nemona as a guiding star while maintaining our own identity" every single week.
I'd just stick to getting 8 badges before the conference, so that we would have 10-11 months of breathing room to use.
