What Happens Next (Slay The Princess/RWBY)

Voting is open
A black long dress covering the entirety of her, With long gloves, and white lines, drawing out the nerves within her back, torso, and hands.

I'm more thinking of, well, nerves taking a vaguely humanoid shape when necessary and others when it isn't.

The wild does begin with the statement *we are a path in the woods.* instead of the traditional *you are on a path in the woods* for a reason. It has no reason to be anything close to a normal human in how it appears.

Unless you are talking about wounded, who has the little problem of missing half her body.

There may not be any occasions to use these forms that weren't chosen at the beginning, but I did say it was possible in special circumstances, so it's good to talk about them a little.

Chapter III: Walk like her until she walks like you.
[X] As you are now. (will it be enough?)
-[X] First, introductions are in order. They were told your name, it is only proper manners that these prospective students of yours give you their own. Use your authoritative presence and emphasis on referring to them as students to give a strong impression of the experienced Grimm fighting teacher you're acting as.
-[X] Stand your ground, seemingly unconcerned as you invite the biggest looking one to strike the first blow against you. Then do everything you can to dodge his attack while making it look effortless. Once you've made them think you outclass them, you've won. Take them out one by one while using your improved expertise to give critiques and advice on their performance.

Chapter a little in advance, it has been ready for some time and I was getting impatient. :V

While the team in front of you finish entering the arena, you affect a disinterested air.

"I guess I am at a disadvantage here, what with you knowing my name when I do not know yours. Care for a little introduction? I can't continue calling you *Students 1 to 4* in my head after all." Your tone is calm, confident, for them you are not the Princess stuck in a basement, you are Stella Panoply, experienced huntress and former teacher. You will act like her until you are her, this is what you are, there is no center, there is no constant, if this world requires a new identity out of you, you will gladly take it.

The impression you get from the four tells you this is working. Sure, most of it indicates they think you are overconfident, but there is a kernel of doubt, and doubt is all it took for you to fight your love on equal terms.

"We don't need to give you names, if you want them, you'll have to beat us first." Is the answer from their apparent leader, her cocky act not hiding the fact she is studying you for weaknesses.

You ignore her, and raise an eyebrow towards her teammates, undermining her authority and their teamwork in one fell swoop.

'Hey, you can't ignore me like that…." She begins, before a small voice is heard from behind her.

"Vel-Velvet Scarlatina." The faunus girl's name is almost a whisper, but it is heard all the same.

And just like that, you have already won, all that is left is to make reality realize it is so.

"Thank you." You say to the shy bunny, before turning towards the leader once again. "See, at least one of you is polite, you should follow her example. One never knows if being polite could not make the following lesson less harsh."

"You…" The angry beige girl begins, and is once again interrupted by her team.

"Yatsuhashi Daichi, and excuse our leader, she is new to this role, she is Coco Adel." Is the Giant's calm answer.

"Fox Allistair." The blind man tells, his voice having signs of disuse.

"Now that everyone has been introduced, I believe we can begin the match?" You ask towards Glynda, who has been looking from above the whole time with a calculating eye. From the changes she is pushing you towards, she has seen part of what you were doing, and acknowledges you as having experience in at least some method of teaching.

"Yes. Team CFVY versus Stella Panoply for the obtention of a temporary huntress license. This match is until Aura is reduced to the normal threshold or until one side surrenders. Three, two, one, begin!"

Your first act as the fight begins is to tell Daichi to approach with a gesture, firmly staying in place and making it clear they will have to come to you.

"Now, big boy, won't you give me a dance?" You goad him, keeping the other three in your field of view. Adel is deploying what seems to be a gatling gun from her purse, Allistair is running towards you and Scarlatina is keeping back, observing you attentively.

When Allistair is the first to reach you, you casually sidestep his slash before sending him flying into Adel with a punch to the torso, stopping her from firing on you at the same time as getting some space to receive the charge from the opponent you care about.

"Now, you two, I asked your teammate, wait for your turn." You tsk towards the pile made by the two colliding teammates.

Then you dodge the sword that would have hit you by a hair.

"Not too bad, but you should have come at the same time as your partner instead of letting him attack first." You lecture him, all the while acting as if the sword never had a chance to touch you.

Allistair and Adel manage to disentangle from each other, and you move so that Daichi is right in front of them, in their line of fire.

"You also lack strength in your hits," you begin talking once more. "you have to have killing intent, really mean them." Then you catch his wrist when he is preparing a slash, stopping him cold with your oppressive strength. "Like. This" And you hit him, once.

It is all it takes, their doubts have grown enough you are stronger than you have any right to be, his Aura shatters instantly and you relatively delicately get him out of the way.

The reaction of his teammates is exactly as you hoped, they are frozen, unable to understand what just happened. You do not let them recover.

"You need to have your weapon deployed faster and anticipate how your enemy could try to stop you from firing." You offer to Adel, as you leap towards her and kick her in the legs to make her fall.

"You hesitated when seeing your teammate being taken out. You have to learn to continue fighting even then." Is your advice to Allistair, delivered at the same time as a straight to the base of the arm he is slashing with that makes him spin, followed by a Supplex to send him right on top of Adel, sending both of their Auras into the red and eliminating them.

"I-I surrender!" You hear from the very afraid Scarlatina, looking at you as if you were a lion ready to pounce on her… in fact, you can almost feel lion ears forming on your head and a tail wanting to sprout from your back, you left that much of an impression.

"It is good to surrender in front of certain defeat from an opponent willing to take it. But whatever the reason you didn't attack with your teammates, you have to find a way to compensate for it." You look at the camera she is wearing. Managing to get a sense of why she didn't want to use it right away. "Maybe learn to fight unarmed, if your weapon is only for emergencies, you have to be able to do without it."

"Team CFVY is out! Winner: Stella Panoply!" Comes from the podium, Glynda watching you with some respect. Good, the more respect you gain from her, the easier it'll be to learn how to quickly begin teaching at her side.

You move back towards the spectator seats, right next to Sable. He seems to be about to go retrieve his pristine blade.

"You better not lose this fight, little bird, or I will have to think of a way to punish you for not trying." You say when getting seated, a smile on your lips.

"Do not worry Princess, while I doubt I can recreate so perfect a display, I can at least not embarrass myself." Is his deadpan answer while leaving toward his own fight.

His opponents seem to be a team LSRS (Lizards), all men, and too generic for you to really register them individually.

"Do not worry boys, I will not be as harsh as my dear Princess was. I am more… quiet, you could say." How your love manage to say that line with a straight face, you have no idea.

The quip is not enough to reassure the poor boys however, judging from the nervous glances they are giving to each other.

"Team LSRS versus Sable Vault for the obtention of a temporary huntsman license. This match is until Aura is reduced to the normal threshold or until one side surrenders. Three, two, one, begin!" Glynda has to have sensed there would be no more pre battle banter, as she announces the start of the match immediately.

Where you stayed in place for your first move, your love runs right in the middle of the enemy formation, cutting one with a shallow hit before they even have time to react. One of them tries to hit him in turn at the same time the farthest one uses the gun in his weapon, an axe, to take some pot shot.

The hit from what you think is supposed to be a sword but looks more like a broom is parried with the pristine blade, and before the bullets could touch your love, he is already behind the poor student, cutting him on the way.

The rest of the fight doesn't get any better for the team, they manage to survive three minutes due to the fact your other half doesn't hit as hard as you, but they never come close to really hitting him. When they are all taken out, his aura is still basically full.

"Team LSRS is out! Winner: Sable Vault!" Glynda announces to no one's surprise.

Your pristine little bird goes to put his blade back in storage then comes back to you, where Glynda is waiting to announce your results for your licenses, not that it is in doubt, but it is an official occasion.

"As I am sure you already know, you both passed the test for your temporary licenses. I have to finish this class. You should wait outside and I will come back for additional explanations on your new status. This should take around 10 minutes." Glynda says in a no-nonsense tone.

"Very well, we will see you later." And with that, you leave to wait in front of the door. Around 10 minutes later, just as she said, the doors open once more and you can see the students leave, followed by Glynda who walks towards you.

"Thank you for waiting, now, I was told that you originally came to ask about taking jobs here as teachers. If you have questions, I will be happy to answer them." She says professionally. When the class is a little farther away, she then adds with a warmer tone. "Your performance does indicate you have previous experience as huntsmen, this means that you can try the teacher version of the exam instead of the general one. Beacon is always in search of talented huntsmen willing to teach, and too few are willing to take time to educate the next generations. If you can prove you have the knowledge necessary, there is certainly a place for the both of you. Maybe not as full teachers, but certainly as assistants."

A/N

You certainly left an impression on poor Velvet, you may or may not have to repress the spontaneous transformation into a lion when in front of her from now on.

In case you think you beat them too easily, this is the team as newish first years, not the more cohesive second years we see in the show (that apparently still has problems with Coco's controlling tendency anyway).

Now, if I had to give a name to your *Semblance* (is it a Semblance when the source is not Aura? Personally, I would call it your Nature, you have no Semblance because you are not human, no matter how close the imitation.), it would be "There is no center".

The Long Quiet's would be something like "Just as once you were Nothing.", as for what it can look like, see the last fight against the Razor (both version).

For the vote, this is the occasion for you to ask questions for how to become teachers and what you can do if you manage to get the jobs. Try not to ask too much though.

Here are some ideas to launch the discussion:

[] What posts would be available?

[] When is the exam?

[] Any advice you are allowed to give for the exam? (Probably won't tell much, but you never know.)

[] write-in

Glynda will also ask you if you have any anything particular that could help with some ways of teaching, do you tell her about your *Semblance*? (The broad strokes, not the details).

[] Yes, tell her about your *Semblance*
-[] And explain more about the Damsel
-[] And explain more about the Specter
-[] And explain more about the Thorn

[] No, do not tell about your *Semblance*.

[X] Yes, tell her about your *Semblance*
-[X] And explain more about the Stranger

This one seems the best to explain.

This one seems the best to explain.

Well, the question is *how do you see the Stranger help in teaching?*

Which I am actually asking here, the proposed ones are because I already have an idea on how they help, but if you can find a way to have the Stranger do so, tell and I will see if it works. Which is likely, I am not perfect and Stranger can do interesting things.

Keep in mind, you options aren't all about teaching combat related things, that's why Damsel is there among the choices, she can help counsel.

Edit:

Oh, and you are allowed to vote for more than one question, just not too much.

I'm sorry about this, but I need to verify with you a couple of questions before I do the explanation.

What are the ability(ies) of the Stranger?
How many students would we teach? We'll be a teacher not a tutor right?
Have you seen Assassination Classroom?

Can do things simultaneously with each parallel timeline being a slightly different version of her, there are five timelines. Then have the timelines crash together into a more or less coherent whole. (If you know about Elder Scroll's lore, she is a walking Dragon Break from what I know of them)

Depends on what post you get, probably the first years (which is very vague in canon in how many students there are but probably more than just three teams) and maybe some second, third and fourth are for really trusted teachers. So all in all one class should be something like 30 students in first year and I'd say around 20 for second years.

Given how prestigious Beacon is, and how little Huntsmen there seems to be compared to the population, you should expect something closer to a high school than a big university. In fact, I am wondering if 30 per class isn't too much given how some lessons really need to be individualized....

Yes, from start to finish, but as manga, not anime.

Edit:

Saw the addition about tutor, and this makes me think that some of the posts I am thinking about would be closer to that than teacher in how many you would have at a time.

Basically, some of your forms can help in counseling for teamwork and trust and things like that, but that requires actually interacting with teams or even students individually.

Hope that precision helps.

Imagine being able to teach 5 different students 5 different things all at the same time, and having those students able to keep things up.

or having a primary instructor and 4 helping out the struggling students and those that will need help with the primary lesson.

Heck given it's timeline bullshit we can teach our students 5 different nuanced lessons and have them learn all of them in the same time as another teacher would do one.

It can work, they will need a little training to not be too disoriented by the timecrash, but it can work.

The nuanced lessons would be difficult to do, but probably with some time before doing the individual help I can see them not getting their brains too scrambled.

Then it seems in this case, not only is it the best one to bring up, but it's imperative we do so.

Risk, even if it is solvable through training that is likely to be incredibly helpful for huntsmen, after all disorientation could be deadly in a combat situation, is something that needs to be addressed before springing it on students. Without the faculty being aware of it.

Helpful yes, imperative no, you are allowed to keep cards up your sleeves, and if you go for some of the proposed posts, you won't benefit from the Stranger's advantages.

Keep in mind the main opponent they are supposed to fight are creatures of Grimms, not other Huntsmen, and creatures of Grimms don't do the kind of shenanigans the Stranger would do.

Learning to not be disoriented by suddenly having five things happen at once including you suddenly doing five different things simultaneously with five different train of thoughts is not the same thing as learning to take decisions quickly in a chaotic battlefield, it helps, but so can normal training.

Stranger won't increase their normal multitasking, as it uses different set of them to do the different things, it could even create bad habits if they get too accustomed to it.

RWBY doesn't have much powers like the Stranger or in fact any I can think of. Emerald and Neo do illusions, which requires a different set of skill to detect and counter, Yatsuhashi's semblance is not as obvious when it has been used, so on and so forth.

I have some questions,

Will us teaching the students using our "semblances" start to shape the students own narrative? I mean if we start teaching certain topics like survivability will our students get flashbacks to our training in situations they have no right to survive and end up living? Having come from a "lost" village, will we be able to teach our students "lost" techniques?

Questions about how the quest will be run
V
Will this be a day-to-day quest over daily life, something repetitive like the game? Or will this be a narrative quest, where we are telling the story of these two eldritch beings so time doesn't matter ingame? Or something like a month by month quest?

Given you are trying to act as *totally normal huntress, nothing to see here* right now, you won't influence the narratives of the students directly... as long as nothing makes you go full Shifting mound.

Now, it will take a lot for you to go full shifting mound, hell, even going apotheosis is going to have pushback from the Princess, and apotheosis is tiny compared to the full power you have as a concept given form.

What I mean is that if Apotheosis would be able to fight the brother gods on even ground, Shifting Mound would not even register them as threats. You are an outer god that can rival something like Yog-Sothoth, you are change, all changes, everywhere, the full universe is your playground, the brother gods are Cthulhu in that comparaison, powerful compared to humans, but ultimately a speck to you all the same.

But you are not there to be Yog-Sothoth, you are there to be Stella Panoply.

Will this be a day-to-day quest over daily life, something repetitive like the game? Or will this be a narrative quest, where we are telling the story of these two eldritch beings so time doesn't matter ingame? Or something like a month by month quest?

Not repetitive (I assume you mean timeloops?)

Narrative, I dislike dices in quests.

As for the time that passes, time is vague and will probably stays so, you will have moments of day to day narration and timeskips depending on how interesting the events are to the Princess. Doesn't help that time is also vague in canon.

For example, you will probably go on at least one mission after this update before the license, and it will be described moment to moment unless you vote to timeskip directly to the license (there will be a vote on that).

You certainly left an impression on poor Velvet, you may or may not have to repress the spontaneous transformation into a lion when in front of her from now on.
I wouldn't mind Stella being a lion faunus as a result of our first impression. Give the Witch and Beast/Den some representation, and it's early enough that we can get away with convincing everyone that, "What do you mean, I was always a faunus. You must have just missed my ears the first time around, I understand my tiara covers them a bit where they blend into my hair."

Wonder what the more interesting narrative would be, being a human/faunus couple, or both of us being faunus teachers instead of Sable being the only one in Beacon.

I think a combination of Damsel and Thorn supplementing each other will actually be superior for the purpose of counseling and team relationship dynamics. Damsel for fostering the positive bonds, and Thorn for helping to overcome negative interactions and get through tribulations together stronger than ever.

I have some ideas about if you are a human/faunus couple, they are Blake shaped.

*Looks back at my notes on what forms work for what potential jobs I thought of*

Didn't I already tell you to stop reading my notes? :V

I'll correct the typos tomorrow morning, I'm going to sleep right now.

I think it's going to be a combination of forms we use for teaching as each form has its own merit.

In a standard classroom you'd see the Stranger giving lectures. The Damsel and others interacting with individual students or doing certain events.

As previously stated Damsel and the Thorn rock In team relationship dynamics. Which can only be given when we're instructing a specific team and not trying to teach an entire class at the moment, but they still rock in those moments.

The Specter should rock when we're overseeing a team without making them aware of our presence. Something important for outdoor exercises.

The Eye of the Needle would be best used, by giving demonstrations preferably through recordings of us defeating Grimm in that form, or attacking the bases of people threatening our students. Things like that

Edit: just realized I should further clarify lectures.

Lectures in the sense of physical lectures where you teach something and they try to perform it.

Not in the they write down notes and are simply listening Damsel should probably excel there, her kindness would make her have the students listen to us rather easily.

Edit 2: Well unless we're teaching different parts of the class different lessons at the same time then it becomes back to the stranger.

Oh my lord I LOVE this concept. I always thought that The Princess's whole dealio would make for AWESOME Quest material and this just proves it! I've seen some discussion on it, and i know it's still undecided on if this would be possible but having THE HUNTRESS or THE TEACHER as New Perspectives could be fascinating to explore, and i don't just mean in Combat capability. How would either view the world? Would THE HUNTRESS constantly have an Itch to go on a good old fashioned hunt? Perhaps THE TEACHER cannot help but put a Lesson into every conversation? That's only considering two perspectives i can see coming out of this as well, I wonder what the Perspectives of Beacon will bring...

Probably, but explaining all of them to Glynda would take too long, so one or two can orient the direction of what she can talk to you about in term of vacant posts. (Thorn for trust related things, Eye is bad at teaching directly but videos exist as you say, Stranger for a more traditional classroom....)

Spectre can also talk about grief, by the way, even if her perspective on it is going to be a little... strange. She also can talk about trust and forgiveness like Thorn does, since ending her route on her requires the Long Quiet to let her hitch a ride.

Thanks! Happy to see you like it!

For forms, Huntress would be RWBY's version, not Bloodborne, so probably more about protecting the innocent than hunting.

Teacher I don't know, didn't have the idea myself.

There will probably be a *Stella Panoply* form coming up officially, that you will probably spend most of you time in Beacon as. Whether it is *The Huntress* or *The Teacher* depends on how the finishing touches on her go.

I am keeping some things vague for myself deliberately because the vessel is everchanging and new perspectives from readers can help me see things I wouldn't have.

Right, not many votes going on.

Can I ask, is it just because it's a low stakes vote?

Or is it because there isn't enough ideas on what the questions and explanations would give?

Or just the when and votes would come in later?

Thanks for any answers, I would like to learn to try and get better at this.

I've rewritten this more times than I can count. Making this long is a bad thing imo.

Voters are a subset of readers. Voters don't always vote for every turn, and your max so far was 8. This should be the anchor as it were, effectively votes become more popular when there's contention. That being interesting battles, or things that are really quest defining for one reason or another. Still, just because that's the case doesn't mean these votes don't matter just that a lot of people won't have as defined opinions over things like this. Where the strategy in a vote seems to be more personal preference with no real... strategy making any vote particularly strong.

I suspect the vote for what job post we take for instance will have more votes than this one.

Thanks for the answer, will see how other answer, I am interested in the individual reasons in a way, call it an interest in psychology getting a little rise out of the situation.

In particular:
I suspect the vote for what job post we take for instance will have more votes than this one.

I do anticipate it probably will, and in fact, I am thinking on having the question of what posts are possible for you to have to be an automatic include no matter how the vote goes, to allow for discussion on what option to choose in time.

Well, I guess the warning on a particular semblance not being told, means she isn't too concerned about the ramifications herself.

?

Not entirely sure what you mean?

Are you talking about Stella (gonna remember using the name, wouldn't want to forget it) telling her semblance and not understanding what could be read about her from it?

Because, at least as far as strategic consequences go in a fight, you an still pull the card of *are you sure you prepared for everything I can throw at you?* if it comes to that, nothing beat a guy prepared for Eye of the Needle better than suddenly Tower. :V
