Star Wars An Officer and a Traitor (NO SV, you are an Imperial Officer and Traitor)

I'm thinking that the empire is starting to fracture into different groups, all claiming to be the true heir to the republic's/empire's throne. Palpatine built the military as the centerpiece of his rule, but he forgot that the military is equally capable of replacing him with how powerful he made it.

The Empire was always on the edge of that, its Sidious' plan, if he ever died it would implode under its own weight like we saw after Tarkin, Vader and Sidious died, those three held a massive power in the Empire, and when they were gone? the Empire died officially.

That was also partly by design. I mean, the Senate, in spite of being rendered nearly toothless, was still a major part of the empire, even if only by legitimacy. Which was likely removed for that reason, after all, palps is egotistical enough that fragility could be a feature not a flaw.

As far as rulership issues, just classic Sith gonna Sith. Now Legends Plageious might have avoided that problem. But then again, the reason he wouldve was the exact reason he got fried by good ole palps.

Classic case of 'I didn't think we'd get this far'. XD
Yep, forming the Empire was Palpatine's "Happily Ever After". Basically, that was the end point for all of his plans and strategies, and he honestly didn't care what came afterwards. He never spent the time making the empire last, because it doesn't matter to him. As long as he died in the empire he created, he doesn't give a flying f*** what happens after he dies. The whole galaxy could be devoured by the black hole at its heart, and he would be fine as long as it doesn't occur while he is still alive. That's his greatest weakness, he is unable to envision a galaxy without him.

Plagueis definitely would not have gone the route Sidious did as hard, and was definitely not a hard Banite follower anyways, he would have lead with Sidious side by side rather than as Master and Pawn or Master and Apprentice, from the books, and novels, he wanted it to be a co-chancellery so I'd guess that he would have kept the Republic but cut away the chaff and made it in a new image, basically all but making it impossible for the Jedi to kill them when they ushered in a new High Republic than said "Hahaha fuck you Jedi, we've been Sith all along, nothing you coulda done or did now"

Honestly if Plagueis survived and Sidious didn't fucking fry him we probably would have seen a stalemate between the Sith and Jedi in some ways because neither could end the other unless one made a move, and since the Jedi would really hate the Sith being OPENLY there now, they'd have Jedi Shadows and Sentinels chomping at the bit to kill either of them or both, therefor getting Order 66'd legally and making the Knightfall more openly believable.

The jedi by the point of Order 66 was starting to fray at the seems. So Plagesious might have simply destroyed the order without anything that drastic, by simply luring them into a war, and let the order tear itself apart as the realities of war and the nature of the order drives a wedge through the order. I mean, in the clone wars we seen a terrorist bombing on the temple by one of their own.

The Clone Wars was basically if Sidious left it alone, another Order fracturing would have occured and given him free acolytes/assassins/pawns etc. to use as weapons to make everyone else regret life more lol.

The Rumor Mill As The Galaxy Burns
The Rumor Mill As The Galaxy Burns:

You were sitting quietly at the bridge of your flagship, waiting for the news to begin, and you could see the reaction of the rest of the galaxy to your death… when the Hologram of Maximilian appeared. You had almost forgotten him in the excitement of the whole plan of faking your own death, and your man in the senate was frantic.

Frantic and afraid, his eyes more wild, as he saw the ghost of his greatest ally and friend. "You're alive?" He exhaled as if he had been holding it in for a thousand years. "But… But."

You smiled as you looked at him. "Max… does Rika know I'm alive?"

"She doesn't know?" The surprise in his voice was paramount to his utter horror. Then you realized that you had made a horrible mistake. "Are you out of your mind!?"

You laughed, though it was not a laugh of happiness or dread… but one of fear, as you realized that you were going to have to explain your little stunt of faking your death to your wife. It was a dangerous game you played. But hopefully, she would understand that you needed to make things perfect. "I admit, I may have miscalculated on that one. But I can assure you that it was for the good of the Republic, and our ability to destroy the empire."

Max then took a breath and then said. "Well… Blast it. Take care, and may the force be with you."

"And you as well Max." you replied.

The hologram then turned off and you turned around to face the Tograta who was folding her arms at you. The legendary Fulcrum. Or as she was known by another name. "Captian Constantine." She was more surprised than anything else as if she had not expected to see you ever again. And after Umbara… and order 66, you didn't blame her. Especially given your position. A position that was now lost.

"Ahsoka Tano, I was wondering when you would finally grace me with your presence." You said as you could barely find the words to speak to the former Jedi. As if you didn't know what you should feel to her. Grief for all the death she endured? Remorse for the actions that led to fellow Jedi dead, and your small hand in it? Or nothing, because as much as you felt the Jedi were undeserving of their fate… they brought it upon themselves?

No… that was forced upon them by Palpatine. The Emperor did nothing but seize power and destroy everything in his path for power.

The galaxy lost something with the destruction of the Order. And that was something that you felt guilty for. For being part of a machine that destroyed something so integral to the Galaxy. So you gathered yourself. It was for everything in the galaxy now. You may have some small grievances against Krell, and some of the Jedi.

But not the order itself.

"And it's Moff now, I feel enough pride in the rank to hold it, as for everyone else here. How long has it been since we saw one another?" You said as you relaxed, looking at the young woman. "I take it you aren't here just to see me?"

"Umbara… before Krell." She whispered, remembering you there, a young captain. "And I'm here about Maul. Why is he still alive?"

"Because he may be useful to the cause." You stated matter of factly.

"He's a Sith!" She protested.

"And you're a Jedi," you stated bluntly. You had no time for ancient religious nonsense. "He is an enemy of Palpatine and his empire, that puts him into common cause with me, and mine."

Ahsoka was gobsmacked. "You don't know what pain and suffering he has caused?"

You glared at her with an icy stare. You were not going to be lectured by someone who wasn't there on Umbara. In those last days of the Clone Wars, where you and thousands of others like you were battling for your lives. There was no heroics of Skywalker there. Only blood. "And you don't know how much I have caused."

You sighed. "Now, Ahsoka. Why are you surprised that I am still alive?"

"Because of your last message. You've become a Marytr for the Republic, and all who would have been your allies." She then looked at you. "You wanted it?"

"Sometimes, the thing that is needed for a whole rotten house to fall over, and show what it truly is, is a swift kick in the door." You stated. "I have robbed Palpatine of the initiative. And have opened up an opportunity for my rival, to help with my plans."

"How?" She asked.

You then looked at the news on the Holotable. "Ah… there it is."

A List of names, to be detained.

To be stripped of rank.

To be Executed.

And at the top of the list, was a name you smiled at seeing. "It seems the Emperor didn't see me as the greatest threat to his reign?"

Palpatine:D100 => 2

The Imperial Navy:D100 => 94

Grand Moff Tarkin:D100 => 90

The Constantionists that were not in Task Force Shield:D100 => 93

Grand Moff Tarkin was speaking before the Senate, and you smiled. "Finally, a spot of luck. He's done exactly as I thought they would."

"The emperor has been placed in protective custody in his palace, and Martial law has been declared." Tarkin proclaimed to the Senate, and you noticed many of the seats were empty, and those that were full, were surrounded by stormtroopers. "The Emperor had been deceived by many members of this very senate, to conspire, and to murder, thousands of loyal Imperial officers within the Imperial Navy. The ring leaders of this plot to destroy the Empire will be found. They will be punished, and Order shall be restored."

You then turned off the holo table and turned it to Thrawn and the rest of your officers. "I told you he would have done that. The Emperor was too bold in his assertion that he could simply remove those that were a threat to him. Once we began the Doctrine wars, it became clear to the Emperor he couldn't trust the navy, and so he sought to make it as loyal to him as possible." You then smiled.

"When Tarkin made Task Force Shield, we were expecting him to lure us into a no-win situation." Thrawn started. "But it appears that Tarkin was also trying to win power for himself, seeing that out of all the men in the empire to stand against him, it was you."

Paelleon was chuckling at that. "Well said. Colonel Yularen has sent our message all over the fleet. Those that come will bring their equipment, their crews, and their support."

"Will they know of my survival if they come?" You asked.

"No sir." Thrawn replied. "Your plan was flawless."

"Good. What of Gideon, has the evidence we fabricated suitable enough for him to be removed?"

"Yes sir," Paelleon stated. "Tarkin will throw him into a cell, and we'll have complete control over Mandalore and its fleets."

"Good." You stated. "Now, did Bail send anything?"

"He has been gathering support." Baylo stated.

"How much support?" You asked.
-------------------------------------------------------------

The Core:D100 => 12

The Mid Rim:D100 => 76

The Outer Rim:D100 => 88

The Workers Unions:D100 => 90

The Corpos:D100 => 9

The Allience:D100 => 59

"He's rallied much in the Way of support in the Mid and Outer Rim. We have reports of nearly every working world in the Galaxy on strike, gathering resources and credits. Declaring revolutions all over words, overthrowing their governments. The entire Galaxy is at a standstill of production and agriculturally at best, or actively losing resources to the crackdown. Several Corp Sector words are burning from unrest and strikes and revolutions." Baylo said. "Sir… it is time to make our moves."

You smiled. "Good. Prepare the Fleet. We move to the outer rim. For staging."

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Reward: Palps was outplayed by Tarkin and many of the Admirals that were on a kill list, and he had been placed under arrest. Tarkin is running the current government on Coruscant.

Vader has gone missing.

The Navy is now split between the Tarkinist and the Constantists. And now they are all rallying to each other's side.

Meanwhile, The entire galaxy burns as corporations and the Worker's Unions clash with a brutality not seen since the clone wars.

What is your next course of action:

[]To the Alliance: You are going to meet with the other key members of the Alliance to Restore the Republic.

[]To the Corps Sectors of the outer Rim: You were honestly not going to expect much from these workers. But something tells you that you will be able to win the galaxy if you win them over.

[]Gather your Fleet: You are going to need to organize the fleet. You have a war to win, and that means you must be ready for it all.

[]Talk to Ahsoka: You are going to figure out what she wants... and maybe find out what you want in return.

Kyber, the next stage of the arms race
Kyber, the next stage of the arms race

Kyber was a relatively little known miracle material, with the Jedi being both the main users and the only people allowed to use it. And yet recently, it has entered usage throughout empire space, starting first with Project Stardust, a secret imperiel project believed to be a massive mining station, though some whisper it's just a cover. But recently, it was discovered rebels had found out its power, and were using it against the empire, which has led to a major surge of interest in a previously overlooked material. While Project Stardust meant the Empire was already trying to gather as much as possible, the recent exposure outside the secret project has led to fierce competition between the various branches over who gets how much of the miracle material. The Navy wants them to build super-ships, the army wants vehicles, spec ops and stormtroopers both want armor, and Project stardust wants to fend everyone else off to avoid the others stealing what they believe is theirs. Which has been slowed little even by certain complications discovered in the process.

Thanks to the conflict, many different companies and Empire research facilities started to fight the requisitions war alongside the officers and investigative reporters by studying the new material, and developing designs for the purpose of showing the value of giving them kyber. Which has led to many different efforts with varying effectiveness, including a very marked tendency for groups that use more forceful methods in both extraction and study falling behind the others. And one of the most crucial, is the mental effects found among the scientists include headaches, difficulty sleeping, and what seems to possibly be mental influence on the scientists, with some becoming unhealthily obsessed with the crystals, leading to some groups cycling out researchers in the hope of mitigating still unclear effects. This, combined with the nature of the order that used it, has led to a lot of talk and ideas on how to possibly select the people to use any resulting equipment. While it is unclear if the known issues would be relevant for most uses of the material, there are questions if there may be other as of yet undocumented effects that could pop up when being used by people long-term. Which is the one central question most groups are faced with, with many ideas being thrown out, with limited information available to theory-craft with. Something which has been used by the heads of Project Stardust to try and weaken the position of their competition.

And yet, one of the biggest mysteries of kyber is how does it form. While Kyber crystals could be found naturally, their rarity, combined with it most commonly be found with other means, raises some questions over its nature. There have been efforts to make synthetic versions of kyber, but so far, they have been notoriously unstable and explosive. Which has, in light of increased demand, led some in high positions to question certain methods used to acquire the kyber crystals, such as the Ilum operations, where the empire had prioritized getting as many as fast as possible without regard to what might be lost in the process. Which has led to some groups trying to apply pressure even as the entrenched interests such as Project Stardust try to resist.

A/N: Well, decided to do a little something. I kinda pulled kyber out of the rabbit hole with the one rebel group that at minimum talked about the idea of using the big lump they stumbled upon to power their SD. So well, could see some chaos with Project Stardust suddenly encountering competition in the Kyber usage department thanks to the secret being blown to the wider Imperial groups, and possibly some examples of other uses.
Edit: fixed some misspellings and grammar.

...Well, that happened.

So much for the three way war, as palps tried to secure loyalty of the navy through a purge, only to be blindsided by Tarkin retaliating to the threat to his power-base. Thus, turning things on it's head with Tarkin and Constantine on opposite ends of the battlefield, and poor palps stuck trying to free himself from his own 'allies'.

Four words, might indicate that we may still get a melee a trois between everyone. Vader doesn't just disappear without a reason, and hes got enough pull to have his own imperial faction behind him.

With the dice that Magoose has, maybe Skywalker went home.

It might turn into a 4-way, IF palps manages to leverage his force powers to escape, and try to use his legitimacy as emperor to form his own faction.

Though the skywalker is indeed the wild card, more so due to being a SKYWALKER.

For all we know, he might go Breaker of Chains and go crusading on the hutts. 🤷‍♂️

you turned around to face the Tograta who was folding her arms at you.
"Togruta"

"Captian Constantine."
"Captain"

She was more surprised than anything else as if she had not expected to see you ever again.
There should be a comma after "else".

As if you didn't know what you should feel to her.
"for"? "about"? "regarding"?

Grand Moff Tarkin was speaking before the Senate, and you smiled. "Finally, a spot of luck. He's done exactly as I thought they would."
I'm pretty sure this should not be centered.

What of Gideon, has the evidence we fabricated suitable enough for him to be removed?"
"was"

And the galaxy burns with the fires of liberty!!!

Now what should we do?

Meeting up with the Alliance will broaden our connections to other like minded individuals. But we will be working with mostly untrained civilians and less career soldiers.

The corp sector is promising as the longer we hold out, the more run down and broken our enemies become. Holding resources hostage will cause others to prioritize taking them back.

Gathering the fleet will allow us a large professional military force for our campaigns. But we will lack in our civilian responsibilities as most will not be political bureaucrats.

Talking with Ashoka can help tie us stronger to the Republic with supporting a Jedi. But that also depends on a great PR campaign to undo the damage to the Jedi reputation done by the emperor.

And we can contact our family so they don't worry about us. But that does not really help restore the Republic, just our relationship.

[X]Gather your Fleet: You are going to need to organize the fleet. You have a war to win, and that means you must be ready for it all.

Rally the fleet, gather our hard won ships and soldiers to prepare for this long voyage.

Admittedly, I may bet on black and imagine Anakin just chilling with obi-wan as they watch the galaxy burn for a second time.

Like it or not, we just set off the napalm, and now we watch the inferno.

This is probably the smart move politically.

[]Talk to Ahsoka: You are going to figure out what she wants... and maybe find out what you want in return.

This appeals to me because I am a fan of Ahsoka.

Might not be the best move in the larger picture but I like Ahsoka and want to talk to her.
