[X] Stay at Castle Agrithe to look after your stuff and be ready in case something goes wrong.

If/when things go to hell in Agrithe, salvaging Ryza's belongings isn't going to be high on the priority list for anyone besides Ryza's own crew.

TBH, I feel like it'd be a bit along the lines of dirty pool for all of our stuff to be taken away the moment we took our eyes off of it while in one of the toughest fortresses of our allies.

I'd rather give Artemis a few more trustworthy allies than assume one of the greatest fortresses in the area is going to be taken over without any meaningful opposition and all of our stuff lost, but that somehow leaving two sub-promotion characters behind will avert this.

Yeah, is for the best. If something were to happen, at least we can say we did as best we could. And is always good to be wary against, I don't know, a thief or something/someone as unsavory as that.

Artemis has a ton of backup already. A little hard to imagine how they're going to make a huge difference there. I'd be much more concerned about some jerk stealing our stuff, or needing backup ourselves.

  • [X] Plan: I am SPEED
-[X] You will go to the Hall, to save Artemis's brother. She'd be devastated if something happened to him, and the thought of a place of knowledge being used as a trap is offensive to your sensibilities as a scholar. Getting accredited will also be good, as well as checking in with the Revisionists there. (Choose 3 Learning Options and 1 Social Option)
--[X] You'll get Lacroix's help and get there as fast as possible. You'll have to leave Belle and Kelton behind, but you can guarantee that you'll get there in time to prevent any trouble, and having Lacroix around will help you be taken seriously.
-[X] Social Options: Who do you get to know better?
--[X] Lacroix Skyfire (Only if flying with him)
-[X] Learning Options (Can choose the same option multiple times to focus on it)
    --[X] Continue learning Yellow magic
    --[X] Begin learning Runewrighting
--[X] Continue along the Path of Awakening
-[X] Boons: (Choose one for free)
--[X] A boon unique to your path forward appears.
[X] Plan: Storming the Hall with Backup
-[X] You can go through the Whitewings' mountains. It won't be as fast, but you won't risk being harassed by Imperials, and you should still get there in time. The Archduke promises to pay the fee, so you won't have to sell any scrolls or anything…
-[X] Social Options: Who do you get to know better?
--[X] Kelton/Belle (Cannot be chosen if flying with Lacroix)

Alright, pretty decisive win for speed.
With everything that has happened until know, our poor Manakete has been left confused and worried. Many things are happening, dark forces advance their pieces as secrets of the past are revealed page by page.

But now we know that the Hall is possibly going to be assaulted, and with it, her livelihood and options for her future.

Therefore, she must perform an Art only seen in the oldest of scrolls, something Ryza's mother respected and something her father feared with fervor.

The Green Tribe's pride and joy.

The Art Of...

SPEEDRUNNING!

I doubt that two people by themselves would make much of a difference in terms of how things go for Artemis...
That is entirely dependent on if Fire Emblem rules still apply off-screen. (And if Artemis has already recruited the maximum number of units she's allowed to bring into a level.)

I think the main concern would be people within Agrithe messing with it, rather than the Empire pulling off a successful invasion when we're not looking.

...of course, if we can't trust Letoro's castle guards to do that, we probably shouldn't have brought that stuff here in the first place.

[X] Go join Artemis's party and help her out.

[X] Go join Artemis's party and help her out.

Artemis needs the backup more: we know for a fact that she's in a precarious situation, while Castle Agrithe and the surrounding areas only might need help beyond what is already there.

[X] Go join Artemis's party and help her out.

Artie needs help. Odds 100%. Magnitude unknowable but likely large. Two people Artemis knows and knows why we're sending them means two people she can trust.

Agrithe needs help. Odds increasingly likely but not entirely certain. Magnitude if it occurs is likely beyond anything our two can do something about.

Are we sure we can't drop by Artemis when we are done? Or is the 'save the place' thing a long-term time investment?

My memory sucks, how far away is our destination from Artemis? Maybe we could pop over ourselves.

Unfortunately, they're functionally on opposite sides of the continent.

Until I get around to updating this map to the modern-day version, Ryza's heading to out halfway down the border between Black and Red homelands, while Artemis is up near the coast around the border of the White and Yellow homelands.

[X] Go join Artemis's party and help her out.

That we're even given the option to have them remain at Agrithe is inherently suspicious. It's completely meta, but it suggests there is some benefit to doing so. I've been trying to run through possibilities and off the top of my head I've come up with: Something happens at Agrithe (the obvious one, covered in the thread already), possible reinforcements for us if we find ourselves chased/attacked on the journey back, unavailable as allies if "stuff happens at Agrithe" occurs after we return (but before Artemis does), or the more outside chance that Baron Cicenco makes a poor decision and makes a play to raid Kepesk-Omar and they'd be able to respond to that (with our other allies unable/unwilling to divert resources given the situation with the Empire)

Still, sending them to help Artemis at least is the most certain in what it does for us so I'll lean that way. Plus I tend not to like using meta when possible and sending them to help Artemis feels a lot more like Ryza to me.

So I've started seriously working on the next chapter, so I'll close this vote at 4:00 PST tomorrow (about 27 hours from now.)

It's pretty close: at the moment having Belle and Kelton stay on standby is ahead by one.

I know people are worried about our things but imagine agreeing to follow someone and they go "Okay stay here and house sit while I get stuff done."
