Dungeon Crawler You!

I'm down to try that! Talking Doggo is a go!
Yeah I like SysOps because it can buff Moose. I'm curious how The Boring Ol Fighter extra stat point a level would work if we put it on Moose, could we make it so it went to dex?

Actually thinking a bit more we don't have to waste Leo's class on wheeler dealer. Because Taylor already has it on his list we can copy Character Actor from Drew and copy Wheeler Dealer next floor and try and get Rank up that way. And if it doesn't work we get a second chance with Leo doing the same thing.

How much of what you want from Combat Medic is learnable by Drew (the 'level Up to keep' thing)?
I'd want to try and get the boost to Luck, but even if Drew "just" gets to keep one of the healing spells, it would still be a major boon. The Dungeon is only ever going to get harder, and multiple methods of healing sounds like a good redundancy to maintain.
For each actionable of that class (e.g. skill, spell, benefit, stat boost, etc), there is a chance based on your level of Character Actor that you will receive that actionable.
Your choice: +2 to one luck-boosting skill or spell you possess, or a perpetual no-cost level 3 Fortune Sculpting effect
It sounds like this should be covered by the "actionable" example. Boosting Drew's Luck would be hella good, doubly so if we can make it a permanent boost.

My biggest concern with regard to the Fighter class is that it would lock Taylor or Leo out of magic completely. Taylor relies on magic pretty heavily, and Leo uses magic to boost her survivability when aggro-ing mobs... I worry that, if we remove that functionality, we'll be screwing them over.

Well in that case I'll just leave these hanging just in case..

[X] Calliope: Catkin + Wheeler Dealer
[X] Calliope: Doppleganger + Wheeler Dealer
[X] Calliope: Tortugan Juvenile + Wheeler Dealer

[X] Calliope: Tortugan Juvenile + Boring Ol Fighter

[X] Taylor: Scion of Zree + Sysop
[X] Taylor: Doppleganger + Sysop
[X] Taylor: Multacorpalan + Sysop

[x] (Drew) Magical Boy
  • Emulated Class: Wizard Supremacist
[x] (Leo) Combat Kitty
  • Race: Catkin
  • Class: Wheeler Dealer
[x] (Drew) M*A*S*H 4077
  • Emulated Class: Combat Medic

So Levi thought the +25 would let Taylor have it easy on floor 3. With Tortuga and BOF Leo would have at least 45 Con, 40 Strength and +15 to Dex. It also gives her +5 Dodge, +5 Regen, a Shell that is "better than most plate armor", and a piece of gold armor.

And she would gain +1 str and con every 2 levels and an extra point in str/dex/con every level.

I think if we are gonna have her scout instead danger sense from cowpoke might be necessary since it does a lot.

I'd be okay with Cowpoke for Leo. It would also unlock the Magic Bullet spell, which scales off of DEX (Leo's highest stat). The Ride skill would also help when Leo needs to ride Moose (which is something that has happened, previously).

[] (Leo) Gato Gaucho
  • Race: Catkin

My horror from watching people wanting a scion of zree Taylor is beyond human comprehension...
Edit: at least it's not the blood sultanate.

Just a note that Taylor doesn't have that class available.

  • The hilarious part of sysop is that we could add a catkin into the zree royal line of succession.
  • I really want to pick diva, but the gamebreaker combo is too OP and the AI obviously wants us to go for it.
  • Full character actor party let's goooooooooooo
  • Not sure what I'm voting for because races are up in the air, but we're gonna have some fun
  • @eaglejarl so we keep skill XP for character actor skills, yeah? Levi is allowed to answer now.
  • What is the difference between descending the stairs, and entering a new floor?
  • Sysop could transfer the primal ability to unlock any skill.
  • WE CAN PICK ONE NON-SKILL ACTIONABLE TO KEEP FROM CHARACTER ACTOR A FLOOR VIA SYSOP

[x] (Drew) Magical Boy
  • Emulated Class: Wizard Supremacist
TBH I'm 50/50 on picking this class first. We're a lot more likely to get the good stuff on later levels, but getting Wizard supremacist early is good.
We could pick one non-spell non-skill actionable to keep via sysop, which I'm thinking would be a VIP Dungeon Book of the Floor Club membership if we roll that one. We can probably pick one option to hope for really hard and Drew's ability would likely all but guarantee it.

[X] Plan: Wheeling, Dealing, System Screwing
-[X] Leo
--[X] Race: Doppelganger
--[X] Class: Wheeler Dealer
-[X] Taylor
--[X] Race: Scion of the Zree
--[X] Class: Sysops

Doppelganger adds the ability to add metal to her for protection (weight isn't bad die to gravity resurfacing), I'd be very surprises if a Race described as 'So many legends, both on your world and out in the galaxy. Elite spies, shape-shifting assassins whose bodies are living weapons, infiltrators that can't be stopped even by the narrowest sewage pipe...the list goes on.' doesn't have a few usefull stealth skills for her skirmisher style. The 'Benefit: Color Shifting' alone could make it much harder for the enemies to see her when she doesn't want to be seen, helping with surprise attacks, defending against ranged attacks and loosing enemies. Or gaining their attention when acting as a lure. Also keeps the 1Trillion race available for copying.
Something to not have Zree tank our early socials would be great.
If you want to argue my picks, don't hesitate.

[X] Plan: Think of the Money!
-[X] Drew
--[X] FCA Copy Class: Hitman

Not Necessary, but wanted to throw it out there.

I kind of like the Angel race for Leo.
Self hug with wings, for full heal/MP restore every 4 seconds. Also lets you spam magic like no one's business.
Could also hug another crawler and let them machine gun magic also.

Possible combos for Leo:

Vahntiri + Blood Blade, spam Blood bombs from the sky.

  • What is the difference between descending the stairs, and entering a new floor?
Is there any rule about picking the same class twice for Character Actor?
Chapter 24.4 updated:

"Speaking of me," Drew said. "I asked before about what happens to my skill XP when I go down a floor. You said you couldn't answer as a game guide. Also, what's the difference between descending the stairs and entering a new floor?"

"Right," Levi said. "As to the skill XP, I don't actually know. The best I can say is that Character Actor class is clearly intended to give you a fresh slate every floor, so it would surprise me if you kept the abilities. That said, asking the question has now brought this idea to the showrunners' attention, which means it's even less likely that you'll keep the skills.

"As to that other point: popular crawlers get brought onto tunnel shows, like you guys were with Omusa's show. There's two slots for those, and the first slot is between when you descend and when you arrive. That means that your abilities won't update until after the show--it's almost never an issue, since your interface is generally turned off while you're outside the dungeon, but it's still worth a mention."

And another way of hinting that you should take Manager, he audibly did not say.

"Cool," Drew said. "Can I choose the same class twice for two floors in a row?"

"Yes, although your class list is going to change each time. It usually only gets longer, with new options being added on top of old, but there's nothing saying that they can't remove choices."

Is there a character sheet we can refer to see their current skills/spells?

Might be a good idea to synergize with current abilities. Maintain our look.
I think Leo should continue to skateboard, Drew continue to smoke, Taylor continue to yoyo+fire bomb things.

[X] The murder train has no brakes.
-[X] Calliope: Catkin
--[X] Calliope: Bike Messenger
-[X] Taylor: Dryad
--[X] Pyrotechnics Engineer

This is also good:

[x] (Leo) Gato Gaucho

Or

[X] La ángel de jabelinas
-[x] Calliope
--[x] Vahntiri (angel)
--[x] Jinete

Having 3 fuck the mudskippers options is certainly fun, but it'll also make us a target for the showrunners on top of the normal dangers in the dungeon. We need a combat person!

E: adding these in as good choices as well from later in thread

Not to shell out my own plans too much, but I believe that these allow for that.

The Gnome race allows Taylor a higher degree of crafting and a decent INT boost to raise the power of our current spells.

The Catkin race gives Leo a high amount of DEX (which is what her skateboard runs off of), and Drew's LUCK AOE means that Leo's likely to get one of the better subclasses.

And Combat Medic further compounds Drew's Luck stat and healing spells. Smoking adds to the whole "grizzled combat medic" theme while also providing some useful mechanical boosts.

[x] (Taylor) Spy Gnome
  • Race: Big-Brained Gnome
  • Class: Sysops

[x] (Leo) Combat Kitty
  • Race: Catkin
  • Class: Wheeler Dealer

[x] (Drew) M*A*S*H 4077
  • Emulated Class: Combat Medic

------------
Edit:

I'll admit to not being too enthused at the Dryad race, but I think it's better than Scion of the Zree. While I admit that the longterm boons are enticing, the Drawbacks last until we get 50 in INT and CON. And the sheer severity of the stat debuffs and disadvantages mean that I'm not comfortable voting for it.

So while I'm not crazy about the plan below, it's solid enough that I'm comfortable voting for it in order to vote against the currently-winning plan.

[X] The murder train has no brakes.
-[X] Calliope: Catkin
--[X] Calliope: Bike Messenger
-[X] Taylor: Dryad
--[X] Pyrotechnics Engineer

If we are going to pick Zree/SysOp for Taylor we need to pick something really strong for Leo to compensate for how weak Taylor will be. Levi's comments on Zree make it seem even weaker than we originally thought.

[X] Fight and Steal
-[X] Leo picks Catkin and Battle Klepto
-[X] Taylor picks Primal and Sysop
-[X] Drew picks Democratic Senator

Catkin should be good for Leo and with this combo we should be rich and Leo will be very popular. With Zree/Sysop combo you have to pick human which negates one of Zree's biggest benefit. Primal is much less punishing early and let's Taylor get any skill, and late game it gives us the option of uncapping the skills of our allies by copying that from Primal to them.

Sysop can copy character actor and through that give Taylor Roll up.

I keep coming back to Democratic Senator because it has a lot of party skills that need leveling, making it a good early pick.

Leo will definitely be the star in this build but Taylor should be able to help the party and make a solid build behind the scenes.

In the effort of full transparency, Levi has said that the A.I. is unlikely to allow any class other than Wheeler Dealer to have Roll Up, even through the use of copy-abilities. Levi seemed shocked that Roll Up was even offered at all, to be honest.

You genius. And after getting roll up on the next floor, we can use sysop to permanently transfer it to someone.
That means there's no need to pick that class as Calliope's class!

Not to rain on your parade, but... not quite.

"Yeah," Taylor said after a moment. "Primal has that thing where all skills are unlocked. Does that mean it could learn how to do Rollup and make higher-level lootboxes from lower-level ones?"

"No," Levi said firmly. "I am as positive as I can be that there is not going to be any way to get Rollup without having the Wheeler Dealer class. Honestly, it's suicidal of the showrunners to even have one method of someone getting and using that skill.

Oh hey, if Leo takes Doppelganger, and incorporates Gold somehow, we can pull a Magneto and use Gold Grabber to pull her away from combat and into safety.
