The joke answer is that Drew has a Past.
The real answer is that the party all paid each other to kill some Dungeon beasts, and that unlocked the class.
The joke answer is that Drew has a Past.
everyone else votes without the "Class:" part, so if you want tally bot to count your votes together with other peoples votes you need to remove it.[X] Class: Medical Student
[X] Class: Relentless Justicar
[X] Class: Republican Senator
At work, I've hardly skimmed the chapter. Isany opinion on the argument that we don't even need the golden goose race for med student if we have a hitman?
I think your autocorrect converted 'hitman' to 'update'. If so then yes, there is a class named Hitman that Drew could choose. At work, I've hardly skimmed the chapter. Is update a class or something?
...Disclaimer: if either Taylor or Leo get a "Dragon" option? I'm voting for it. Maybe it'll have a Hoard, gold-boosting ability, maybe not. Maybe it doesn't even exist. But if it does, it'll get my vote.
I'm afraid that the rules that cover what game guides are allowed to do specify that each person must lock in their choices before the next person can check their races. Game guide rules also specify that race must be locked in before class is looked at.Suggestion: maybe the votes aren't "confirmed" until Leo and Taylor also look at their options? Maybe Drew and Leo will hold back on pressing "accept" until Taylor skims through his, and then Levi will go "are ya sure?" And we can either go "hells yes" or "well, about that... what if we did [insert three-party-synergy thing] instead?"
Thanks, fixed. My phone wants to pretend that I'm a more moral person than I am, and would obviously never have cause to type such a morally dubious word.I think your autocorrect converted 'hitman' to 'update'. If so then yes, there is a class named Hitman that Drew could choose.
Great minds ;>Goddamn password manager, supposed to be secure, grumble, grumble...
Ah, sorry, saw you participating in the discussion and wondered why it cut off.At work, I've hardly skimmed the chapter. Is update a class or something?
Yeah, very understandable. But if we lose out on on combos because we don't consider the possibility, that would be annoying too.Further, if Leo or Taylor (or both) have a SUPER MEGA OPTION that we're locked out of because we nailed one or the other to Drew's character sheet, then I'm going to be (only a little) salty.
This rare and exclusive class is only available to crawlers who have committed murder in exchange for money, either inside or outside the dungeon.
This is an Earth class. As an incentive to choose an Earth class, you will receive a Silver Earth Box upon choosing this class.
Skill: Advanced Backstab
- +3 Intelligence
- +5 Dexterity
- +4 to the Advanced Backstab skill
- +3 to the In My Sights skill
- +5 to the Contract Killer skill
Damage is increased by 250% per level if you attack from behind without the target being aware of you. There is also a small chance of a critical strike which will multiply your total damage by (Skill Level) on top of other bonuses.
Skill: In My Sights
If you can keep your eyes on a being for 1 minute before entering combat, you may place a 'Sighted In' mark on that being. Your damage against a creature with that mark is increased by 200% per level. Sighted In marks fade if you lose sight of the marked being for 1 minute.
Skill: Contract Killer
The system AI has placed open contracts on every being on the floor. You may accept the contract for any being so long as that being is currently conscious and at 100% health. If you kill a being for whom you hold the contract, you will receive the following:
Contracts against crawlers are worth 5x as much, both in terms of XP and gold.
- XP awarded will be increased by ((Skill Level) x 2)%
- Gold equal to ((10 + (their level - your level))^2.25) * (Skill Level), round down
You may not leave the floor while one of your contracted enemies is alive. You may not cancel a contract.
Or from the mystic scholar if anyone from astro army has a heal spell and would be willing to spend an hour with us.Before crashing to bed, I just want to say that there's a possibility we'd be able to get healing spells from the wizard supremacist.
If so then yes, there is a class named Hitman that Drew could choose.
Ah, sorry, saw you participating in the discussion and wondered why it cut off.
Possible combo, if the class luck allows it:
Drew: Med student
Caliope: Hitman
Taylor: Mystic Scholar
That actually cost him some class options. I originally had 'Construction Foreman' on the list for him and then realized that he's not the leader type or the construction-worker type.
For clarity, the hitman chooses what contracts he accepts. Everything, including Moose, has a contract available, but the hitman doesn't have to take them all.I could see the A.I. being cruel with regards to the open contracts (like giving Moose one, right as they're talking about doing a mercy killing after Moose gains a horribly painful, fatal debuff). Better to sidestep it as much as possible, I think? Dragon seems like a safer option, I think.
Agreed on Taydragon. And in the combo suggestion i made Taylors class is not an earth class, so dragon shouldn't cause issues.Well, my preference is definitely Dragon for Taylor. Something about the image of scorching petty annoyances to ash sounds cathartic. Besides, the potential wholesomeness when Moose is confused by Taylor's new form, and then a hecking good doggo's concern when his Human-Who-Isn't-A-Human runs into the frontlines sounds nice to read.
If the class description isn't lying, the A.I. can't do that.I could see the A.I. being cruel with regards to the open contracts (like giving Moose one, right as they're talking about doing a mercy killing after Moose gains a horribly painful, fatal debuff). Combat medic gives a decent boost to stats, unlocks a better version of the Health Potion recipe, increases the amount of healing spells we have on hand (meaning less reliance upon health potions, and we're not totally screwed if we run out or need more than we have), and also compounds on Drew's Luck Motif through the Fortune Sculpting effect.
Combat Medic | Medical Student |
stats for physical fighting | stats for magical fighting (higher) |
Alchemy components | - |
+2 (aoe) or +3 (only him) luck skill | - |
50% move speed | +15% xp on everything |
healing | better healing |
- | debuff cleaning, debuff moving, buff moving |
- | buff ability |
- | anti-pain + optional sleep effect (great synergy with hitman) |
How does Combat Medic help his image, except for healing?Drew doesn't have a willful personality. He's not an extrovert, he's not going to rally the crowds on his own, as he is. So building up his image, building up the things that occur without a willful expenditure of effort on his part, will help to raise Drew's popularity. And through his popularity, his chances at survival.
- +10 Intelligence
- +3 Charisma
- +8 to the Major Heal spell
- +3 to the Anesthesia spell
- +3 to the Antibiotics spell
- The Heal Party benefit
- The Vitamin Shot benefit
- The I Got You, Fam benefit
- +3 to the Here, Have This! spell
- +15% to all earned experience
- Disadvantage: Student Loan Debt
Spell: Heal Party
Cost: 8 MP
Everyone in your party is hit with a Heal spell.
(Optional) Effect: Fortune Sculpting
Probabilities are distorted in your favor. Falling objects are less likely to hit you, enemy attacks against you are more likely to miss, your chance-based special abilities are more likely to activate or succeed while those of your enemies are more likely to fail when directed at you, and so on. The bonus/malus is dependent on your spell level and your Charisma.
Note: This effect will stack with your Fortuna's Favored Child skill.
Good point on strengthening the Luck. At least that will work regardless of chosen class.Fortune Sculpting compounds the Lucky Racial boost, meaning Drew will be able to play into it more often/better. Since it's an "always on" ability, he won't have to think about it, or remember to turn it on. The audience will watch the improbable luck happen, repeatedly, and they'll see the Favored Child skill grow, which will further solidify Drew as "the lucky one."
Like in the band Destiny's Child, every singer had a one line descriptor, and that made it so that their audience easily connected with them, on an emotional level. The audience felt like they "knew" the singers, so they bought more music, they watched their performances, and Drew having an "always on" Lucky Effect helps to cement "Drew is the Lucky One" in the minds of the viewer.

I'll concede that Medical Student gives better boons and more XP, and that a Dragon racial boon would probably help mitigate the cost factor (unless I'm overestimating the Hoard aspect of the racial boon).
I'll vote Medical Student, though, since it's ahead of Combat Medic, and I'd rather have Drew be a designated Healer than something more... chancy like Child Actor. In no small part because I worry that Drew, high as a kite, might try to invoke Cockroach unwisely.
He's not stupid, but he's high nearly 24/7. If Drew's character were more sedate and reliable, then I'd probably vote in C.A., but he's not, so I won't.
Seriously, Drew's gotten so high that he forgot to use the Chat Function, after all... which, if Drew is less ruthless than I had initially modeled him to be, may be how he's coping with all of the violence.
[X] Medical Student
I won't lie, the Postal reference/class has me further convinced that Drew has some pretty severe anger/violence issues that he's self-medicates with marijuana. That actually cost him some class options. I originally had 'Construction Foreman' on the list for him and then realized that he's not the leader type or the construction-worker type.
It was a joke. No comment on whether it was also a reveal.Ah, oops. I thought it was a joke and a reveal all in one. In that case...
You can do approval voting to vote for multiple options. With you Medical Student would be 3-way-tied with Strip magician and Former child actor.Ah, oops. I thought it was a joke and a reveal all in one. In that case...
[X] Hitman
Better for Drew (plausible anger issues aside) to he the one taking contracts, rather than Leo. They don't necessarily have to be people, but Drew has acclimated to the violence of the Dungeon far better than Leo has. Better to keep the weight off her shoulders where we can, rather than put so much that she breaks.
