Kingdom of God: A Quest of Holy Revolution

[X] Take the Komandir hostage and drag him with you to the train.

Why should we cling to the dead traditions of the obsolete Jurors? Delay is Death! OwstoppushingMasheel, AND AS I WAS SAYING, clearly the ways of the Jurors have proven to not be the righteous way of Heaven by the great test of Time. There is no need or moral imperative to cling to its rotting carcass even as the maggots of a thousand wrongs wave at us.

Without putting a firm date on it, late 19th century, pre-electrification.
Haha, oh shit we're fucked. (Gatling Guns: Produced: 1862-1903) God shall see us endure against rains of bullets!

but a sudden lust for spuds
A craving for potato!

There is little time for a debate, and yet the sect is having one regardless, because this is the way. A hurried shouting match, to be sure, but still a debate. Someone says that maybe young Yoni shouldn't have sneezed, and Yoni turns red and says that Chana shouldn't have shushed him, and Wendam laughs because if he does not laugh he will weep that God has entrusted him with the lives of all his good brothers and sweet sisters and they may well all die by day's end if they do not make right decisions. A few have died already, and there are none more he can bear to spare. A prayer is whispered facing Nachivan, and now is the hour.

Haltingly, he demands a tally. Who is for the trial of the Komandir, to be held upon the walls, and who is now against? Let all those who wish to thrust up their hands to vote one way or another do so, for it is by the hand that the world is remade.
this passage alone is an unreasonably good passage, save for the fact that it is in Kingdom of God, and thus it is average - because Kingdom of God is fucking 9k words of bangers so far -
it'ssogoodit'ssogoodit'ssogood

ahem.

The greatest enemy of those seeking reformation and a rebirth is not the power structures of the world but rather time, which is the greatest guarantor of the status quo and whose passage promises nothing but the continuation of the present. Grant the status quo time, and time will turn the whole continent into smotherers of the rightful Kingdom of God ahead.

Those who seek to bring about a change, therefore, must move with such speed and force that the existing order not be allowed to take advantage of their great ally, time, and instead be mired in the stupor and the mistakes of the current status quo, which is our great ally.

I suspect we simply do not have the time to try the komandir, let's hope we have breathing room for doing that not long from now.

Don't worry if you picked any of the other factions, as if you do manage to get out of here you will have plenty of opportunity to interact with, cooperate with, integrate the thought of and feud with other sects of other theological movements.
God willing, we will build a "House of Worship" for all liberatory sects in alliance!

For the sake of the sect's children - we came with infants to this imprisonment, and it has been eight years, there will have been more children - and for the sake of those wounded in the righteous struggle at the fort, we cannot dally.

[X] Hold a Trial in the Juror Tradition.

We're here to bring justice, not ransom like bandits. And I want to see if this little bit of procedure sways a few of them.

"Judicial proof is unnecessary, these procedures are an archaic detail. This is a revolution! And a revolutionary must become a cold killing machine motivated by pure hate."

While doing a trial in the tradition of jurors - in the tradition of law, before money seduced her keepers from her - is appealing to me, it is a factual reality that we need money. To destroy the Five Evils, to fulfill the dream of Pasan Gadi, our movement must be suffused with ill-gotten wealth, retaken by force from those who have taken it from the people of the Patriarchate. By force, we will reappropriate the riches that rightly belong to the people, and which now in the hands of the powerful are spent at the further impoverishment of their own subjects; the mighty cower and fear, knowing that should the people know the eternal reward of destroying the Five Evils, they would rise up and unmake them in an instant. We will play bandits today, tomorrow we shall raise the Six-Shin high and vanquish all the evils of the world before the seraph-standard of Baba Pasan Gadi!

Why are you like this.

And then he commands you to look forward, and not merely bask in revenge, but remember your oath, the oath you took for this sect: that the world to come is built by love and not by blood.

Can you go have your murder fetish somewhere that isn't our revolution?

Yeah, let's not do the 'roleplaying murderers' thing here. Part of the understanding around roleplaying is that players also avoid 'roleplaying' potentially rulebreaking and just disturbing bloodlust. As in Magna Graecia where I warned players against 'roleplaying' as guys who want to kill all the barbaroi, I'd ask we keep the tone well away from that, especially when the text contradicts it.

It would be dishonest to claim that emotion is not present here or in historical revolutions, and I do intend to represent it, but for the health of the thread it is best to keep well away from it in roleplay since the line grows very thin.

Can't have a revolution without a good show-trial
