I love jurassic Park and it's nonsensical take on how DNA works.
Dinosaurs sharing DNA with humans would be the same as us sharing DNA whit mice (which we actually do, look it up) that is to say, business as normal.
Well, at least is not as bad as metal gear whit it's dominant and recessive genes.

To be fair the way I view it is that they are copy pasting full fledged Genes across, not random snippets of the base code across. The latter is meaningless, the former can actually do something. This is what we actually do today with GMO crops, move full genes between species to transfer protein synthesis and whatnot

Edit: so in my view this means that Azula has whatever section of our DNA code is divergent from the other great apes on the assumption that those parts is the Neurological Development genes. Obviously not real biology but sensible enough to accept

Kinda, there would have to be placed at the right time and place in the embrio to actually have a meaningful impact but not make it genetically inviable.
The whole process would probably need several generations implanted whit tracker genes (look up something along the lines of "glowing rabbits" for more info) just to get the scales changing color right.

Unless the hybrids have some sort of intrinsect genetic scissors the likes of squid,'s (better even), they will be nothing but so much tumorous meat.

Unless I missed something and they are not the first successful generation to hatch.

with the possible OOC idea of us trying to help our sister out with our own genes, i'm worried of the potential compatibility issues that would come from it.

i'm all for it, but i feel like there'll be complications, and that's something to be weary of with her already lackluster regeneration.

Exploration Time
Your decision was made, it could not be taken back.

For it was time to EXPLORE!

But first you must solve the issue of what to do with Morada, something that was not as simple as your decision to explore. You didn't want to leave her here alone, but at the same time you really didn't want to stay.

Then lightning stuck through your mind as a solution came to you, take her with! Truly it was an ingenious solution to all of your problems. Now how were you going to get her to follow you?

Your scales shivering idly as you contemplate how exactly you were going to do so. Sure you could just pick her up, but she was far less cooperative when she was awake, and more than willing to just jump out of your arms.

She was also much too big to carry in your jaws now, even the thought of carrying her weight in such a manner made both your neck and your jaw ache.

Perhaps just getting her to follow you? Would that work? Well you might as well try it.

Shaking yourself free from the sand pile you'd been laying in, you swerved you neck searching for your sisters no doubt sleeping form. You found her laying in shallow water. Hidden in mild shadows as she blowed bubbles in the water, her purple eyes watching in mild amusement as they popped.

Walking close enough to get her attention, Morada's purple eyes locking onto as soon as you entered her line of sight. A call for her to follow slipped from your jaws in unhurried rumble.

Your sister was next to you in a moment, her eyes alight with interest despite the manner in which you called her implying nothing important. Just a mild call that could be ignored if uninterested.

It made warmth pulse under your scales, as you nudged her away from the lagoon.

Once you were certain she would follow with no issue, you scented the air, searching for new scents, new things to see. This was going to be so very fun you knew, the instance a calming, soothing scent met your nose, along with a sharp flowery scent that made you sneeze along with countless others.

Now which one to follow?

Dino Do What?

[] Scent trail
-[] Calming Soothing
-[] Sharp Flowery
-[] Fresh Forest-y
-[] Dirty Mushy
-[] Write In (Give me a two word scent combination and I'll run with it.)
(Be warned, there may be an Event interruption regardless of choice during this event.)

So if we gave our sister a blood transfusion with our blood would she be similar enough to us that our super regeneration would heal her or is she different enough that it would hurt her?

If its possible to heal our sister, its painfully obvious that it has to do with our regeneration factor. That is the only possible vector by which she could be healed by our actions. The other option is to somehow get Wu to heal her via a retrovirus of some sort, although since they don't have CRISPER at this point in time, that would be highly risky.

The other issue at play is that she doesn't have Human DNA which implies that she is more of an animal intellect than Azula is. Which will give her instincts a greater push on her actions than we have or Azula has. Also based upon some implication it sounds like she has conflicting Predator/Prey and possibly even Carnivore/Herbivore instincts. So that is a wonderful mess of nonsense.
You are hilariously incompatible with your sister when it come to blood, and any atempt at transfusion would kill her. So to would any Atempt Henry would come up with current technology.

We have some time now to practice our tongue-sniping(TM)
Please don't double post, if you have something to add, just edit your last one.

[X] Scent trail
-[X] Calming Soothing

Idea: we swim with her and "accidentally" cut ourself near her so she drinks some of it

Our blood is incompatible with her in everyway. She would die if she got it.

It has to be some form of Mind Over Matter nonsense here then. Since our blood will kill her, and human technology is simply too primitive there as far as I can see there is no direct method by which to heal her. Therefore it has to come down to another factor.

There are two possibilities that I see, one we try to get her to simply Ignore the pain and push through it long enough for her regeneration to hopefully trigger and start fixing her genes. Unlikely yes, but frankly the entire premise of this quest laughs in the face of biology Lamarckian Evolution doesn't work for very sensible principles, so there is a chance based on her genes being somewhat akin to Azula's that she has the same ability and could heal herself if she just focused really hard on moving past the pain.

The other option is to somehow get her to simply outlive the timeline of the pain. In this I am running with the idea that her body is actually functional, if it wasn't it would have died by now. This means that her body is functional which implies that eventually the pain could fade in time, thanks to her regeneration eventually just fixing it anyway. Not sure of how correct either of these ideas are but they are the best ones I have.

My thought is, we could develop our voice mimicry, and possibly make as much noise should something happen.

That's my thinking at least. Probably something way too out there.

Hopefully Wu isn't too out of character, he's really hard to write as anything other than an ass.
Since it is JP1, not-novel, Wu, it makes sense that he hasn't become jaded with his work yet. For now, he still may be thinking "we are researching the best ways to clone dinosaurs", and not yet in the "well... they are all fantasy themepark monsters, so who cares?" phase.

Yeah, in my mind the canon is that even Jurassic Park 3 he is still with the excitement and other things of "we are cloning dinosaurs" but then there is evidence that contradicts that what they are creating technically are not dinosaurs, his mentality changed more to "I'm creating dinosaur-themed life, how exciting, what's the limit?)
