If im understanding the mechanics right a very hard stealth check is impossible for us. We'd need a 12 on a d10 and only have +1 from stealth. Our Instinct and Negotiation are the same so I think we're just as likely to pass calling in a sick day as we are weaselling her out but call in a sick day won't degrade into a fuckfest.

I'm guessing if this fails then Tori still has to go to school but there would be attention on us and this could be reported back to her parents.

Naa, I'd say this is pretty understandable. She's a kid trying to put on a brave face, talking to a really scary stranger. Sure Lilly's here to bodyguard her, but when all Tori knows about us is that we have a short fuse, curse every other word, and seem constantly pissed off? (Man I love Lilly's social skills) It makes sense shes acting so twitchy. It's gonna take a while before she gets comfortable around us.

At this stage, I think fighting for this is only gonna make things worse. She clearly has some problems with the school, but I doubt avoiding it is gonna be the solution. Better we make her go now and work on solving it when she gets back.

Edit: And like Labuto said, school is important, even if unpleasant. I would say especially if it's unpleasant since getting bad grades means you have to be there longer if you're parents are willing to pay, but that feels a bit much.

Gotta find out what the deal is before we can be sure that telling Tori to woman up and push on through is the right answer here, so time to call a sick day, go get brownies from Sun's bakery, and see if we can figure out what the fuck could actually scare someone in a place this full of moneyed scions.

Also, anything that would make Landlord Lin proud can be assumed to be a kinda shitty person thing until proven otherwise.

Considering how crap the rest of the City is I wonder what their education system looks like. It's probably not a slaughterhouse but, well.
 
Well, I think that leaving it alone would be OoC for Lily, she tends to bulldoze through conversations. The weird thing is that it seems to work, even when she calls a Proselyte a psycho and made fun of the Precepts to his face he seems more amused than offended.

I'm more curious to see Tori's state after she school ends for the day so we can see for ourselves if the school is more detrimental to Tori's wellbeing than expected.

Lily almost certainly lacks the social skill to actually persuade anyone of this if this ends up going badly and we have to defend/explain ourselves to the clients or even our coworkers... but... if we interpret the job to bodyguard her physical and mental health we could try and make the case that having noticed something is clearly affecting her it merits investigation. Maybe it turns out to be something outside our scope or ability to handle, or something where Lily's response is to tell her "Nah, you're going tomorrow and the next day." That said, I wouldn't expect any reward from this beyond potential character development on Lily's part and it carries the risk of the client deciding we far exceeded our authority and we suffer the consequences of it. The safe option for sure is to just leave it be but... I'm curious... and after all those checks it seems Lily is too.
