[X] Plan: Start strong, end with a fizzle.
[X] Luxurious, and Nutritious (75,000 Ahn): You can… you can treat yourself a little, right? For once in your lifetime, and – fuck. You don't know. Eat whenever you're hungry. HamHamPangPang sandwiches, and that rice porridge Mao and Mori treated you to. Shit, maybe even pork belly? God. Please. [Receive Status: Energetic – +5 Max Health, and Sanity Points. Receive temporary +1 to one of your Favored Skills (1d3 Dice Roll)
Those boosts are very good compared to how much it is, and what jobs we're about to do.
[X] Dreaming of You (Urban Myth): Miss Ann has been having nightmares since… well, since a few months ago. That's nothing new, of course, and she did ignore it at first. However, it has gotten worse ever since to the point that she couldn't do her work – a teacher, of all things! – properly. Recently, she has woken up with cuts, and bruises on her body, and she has requested the Scarecrows to guard her from… whatever's causing this. Perhaps even from herself. Pay: 800,000 Ahn – After Cut, Before Split.
-[X] Go with Kai?

[X] Rats Be Gone (Canard): In the Backstreets, people have their places. Syndicates normally dwell there, and Fixers dwell here. Before you got to be a Fixer, people would give you the stink eye when you step into a neighborhood that you obviously do not belong – and sometimes they would get violent. You can't even call them Syndicates. Just thieves, killers, and smugglers without any affiliation. Brian is the owner of a warehouse in the lower-grade corner of the Backstreets – and it appears that the Rats have gone up from the bridge they normally stay under, to squatting Brian's building. Brian wants you to "bodyguard" his warehouse. In terms of what Scarecrow does, the job is stretching the term "bodyguarding" or "protection", but it's one of those open job requests – and apparently kicking the shit out of Rats are something of a rite of passage. Who knew? Pay: 75,000 Ahn – After Cut.
Start off with a difficult-ish job and end with a pretty easy job.
Cold, hard cash. Also, let's build some rapport with Kai eh?
[X] Someone to Hang Out With?
-[X] Kai.
You catch Kai training(?) on the rooftop, and you can't help but watch. She doesn't seem to mind.
[X] Sun Dance – One day, you stumble in to find Sun fidgeting inside the Office alone with the Boss. Her face perks up when she sees you, and for a second, you thought she's here for a job. Then she asks if you're free, and – she's testing recipes, and she needs a taste tester. Well. Mao did say you gotta build rapport with your client, and – who are you to refuse free food?
This seems fun.

This one is fairly simple, fight against rats. So expect some outnumbering/ swarm of them.

[] It's a Doggy Dog World (Canard):
People own pets. Somehow, that fact surprises you. There's a lot of people in the Backstreets, you suppose. Regardless, there's a dog – but the owner has died. However, the owner's family has decided to take the dog in before the owner's landlord kicks it out to the streets. Problem? The family lives in the other side of the Backstreets – five hours walk, to be exact. Ten hours, going back, and forth. But only six, from where you are, to picking up the dog, and then to the family. It checks out. Also, it can be dangerous, so there's that. Pay: 175,000 Ahn – After Cut.
This one is also simple, at most against some rats. Or some cook that in need of more meat, the City have those too after all. PROTECT THE DOG.

[] Neighbor(s) from Hell (Canard):
Mister Toko has cottoned onto the fact that one of his neighbors – or neighbors – might be trying to kill him. Cause? Noise complaints. All of which goes ignored by the Landlord since Toko paid extra for his rent and does so always on time. Something that his neighbors do not always do. It appears that Toko is something of a musician – and people are… sensitive of musicians after the Pianist Incident. One day, Toko caught one of his neighbors stalking him to his work. It might be his paranoia, but regardless, he's willing to hire a Fixer in case he's right. Pay: 350,000 Ahn – After Cut.
This could be rats, some musician of Bremen, or some other thing. Basically dont be suprised if its some unexpected thing.

[] Dreaming of You (Urban Myth):
Miss Ann has been having nightmares since… well, since a few months ago. That's nothing new, of course, and she did ignore it at first. Now this is exponentially more dangerous after all it could be some distortion, or some kind of brain disorder.
If its a distortion, depending on its strenght we may be able to defeat or drive it back. But what if the client is the one that got Distorted?

[] Cursed Tourism (Urban Myth):
Hailey is a Nest Dweller who, for some godforsaken reason, came down here into the Backstreets to "sightsee". Everything went smoothly until he accidentally gathered the ire of a minor Syndicate called "The Burning Men" – strong enough to be above the Rats, but not large enough to be considered dangerous. Hailey has contacted the Scarecrows to escort him back up to the Nest Barrier. Pay: 1,050,000 Ahn – After Cut, Before Split.
This one is against Syndicate, expect some higher quality enemy that may outnumber or swarm you. While you have to protect the Client of course. Maybe can see the (outside of)Nest, if all goes well.

Basically in my Threat Assesment:
1. Cursed Tourism (Urban Myth)
2. Dreaming of You (Urban Myth)
3. Neighbor(s) from Hell (Canard)
4. It's a Doggy Dog World (Canard)
5. Rats Be Gone (Canard)
Number 1 and 2 can be switch if its an excepionally strong Distortion
Number 2 and 3 could be switched if its Musician of Bremen.

[X] Plan Starting Up, Rookie Fixer!
[X] Healthy, and Fulfilling (35,000 Ahn): Rice porridge, but this time with proper seasonings, and meats, and vegetables. Maybe not even porridge – maybe you can eat rice as is with a side-dish, without turning it into sludge. Wouldn't that be nice? [Receive Status: Ready – You Deal 0.5 More Damage to others]
[X] Rats Be Gone (Canard):

[X] Someone to Hang Out With?
-[X] Mao.
If there is one that you know about Mao, it's that she likes food. Alcohol is apparently another thing she likes, and – well, this would be the first time you drink.
[X] Sun Dance – One day, you stumble in to find Sun fidgeting inside the Office alone with the Boss. Her face perks up when she sees you, and for a second, you thought she's here for a job. Edit: Because its our first week withhout supervision, lets take some basic jobs!

Just to note Oersted that plan runs a deficit of 110k Ahn if we factor our rent and taxes as weekly expenses. That's a large amount to make up for since we could barely make that up in the next three weeks of the month if we only took Dream level jobs with 50/50 split and healthy eating for the rest of the month. Not something completely implausible but more risky than I would be willing to do.

It's multiplicative. So if you lose by 4 damage, you'll get 6.
Alright. Thank you for the info.

This cements, for me, the idea that the turtle diet plan is going to cost us more money in the long run. Taking .5 more damage is huge, and expensive. That plus the fact that Healthy and filling gives us a .5 boost in damage means we clear enemies that much faster. For only 30,000 Ahn we get a massive boost to our combat ability. Healthy and Filling seems like a lot of bang for our buck.

Would taking damage actually cost us money though? Like presuming we don't die because of it I don't think we need to pay to recover HP unless things got really bad and we lost an arm or something. The big issue with turtling and its damage multiplier is doing multiple jobs a week since an extra .5 multiplier could be the difference between survival or being ground down.

I am not sure how much we heal between weeks with out paying for it. The warning for multiple jobs is that we won't heal fully, but we don't know if we heal fully between weeks either. If we take two brackets of damage how many of those brackets do we heal when the week roles over? If it's only one than we could be fighting an uphill battle until we buy healing.

That plus our own damage increase. A .5 increase means putting opponents down faster which means less turns in combat. Less turns in combat means less risk of a lucky hit getting through our armor. And if a lucky hit does get through it's not going to be increased and perhaps bracket us.

[X] Plan Go hard go fast

[X] Plan Start Strong

Kind of opposite here, I know. The Canard jobs might actually interest me more. I think they could be fond memories for later when Lily's only incentivised to take high-paying jobs.

I've been thinking about it -- there are two ways I could go about it. 1) You get full recovery, regardless of how wounded you are. Or 2) you get full recovery, unless you got critically wounded, in which you'd recover 1-2 Health Partitions instead (from Critical to Heavily Injured, or Lightly Injured).

For the time being, I'm sticking with the first one, though I'm not sure. An input would be nice on this. I guess it did say that Specialized Office will care for you, so they're willing to foot the bill to get you into tip-top shape.

Current Moneys: 253K
Food Expense: 75K
Gainz: +700K
Final Result: 878K Ahn

We have Paid The Rent and have enough for another Luxurious Meal while we get started on our Taxes, which we have paid off--right in time for them to be raised when we become a Grade Eight Fixer.

You ask me "What are you doing, that's an Urban Myth", and I go "It's a conventional battle against a low grade Syndicate that are too small-time to have guns." Which means they enter close combat with Lily and suffer against her boosted HP and improved skill. Since that +1 will fall on either Melee, Endurance, or Repression--and any of those hitting three is Fun Time for us (Melee means +3 and one difficulty reduction, which means Hard class (What Ran was sandbagging as) becomes a 90% chance of success and even Very Hard is 60% success chance, Endurance gives us another point of Armor, Repression... Uh, does whatever Repression does I guess?). The other Urban Myth option is Spooky Shit and I don't think we have the Prudence or Temperance to do that especially well yet.

Then we cool off our missions with walking a dog, which is another Conventional Escort Mission where the most likely threat are Rats, who are pretty shit tier who take Lethal damage from all weapon types and the Rats' Guide to Survival won't save them from the Knockbar.

We're in Epic Stage Capitalism here people! If you're not redlining the engine you're just waiting to die. This is quite literally why there's a 500K monthly tax in place for us and failing to meet it gets us kicked down to Rats tier if we're lucky.

[X] Plan Start Strong

That's why the luxurious meal is in there, it gives us an extra health bracket as a cushion on top of giving us more firepower while giving us a pretty easy cooldown mission where the biggest threat are likely to just be gangs of Rats (Who are just lol against even a Grade 9 Fixer)

Note, Urban Myth is still not crazy difficult. It's just a step up from the odd jobs and small business help that Canards are.

The difficulty doesn't start to spike until Urban Legend, but it remains manageable right up until you're at Urban Plague. Everything beyond that just starts skyrocketing until you hit Impuritas Civitas and become The Head's Problem.
