We took Heroic Advancement: King of Winter, not Crimson Flare.

Right. I'm aware of that. I was speaking in the context of calculated counterfactual stats for Crimson Flare. The +3 Ennobling stats and .5 Rank buff are still potentially useful data for determining our party's stats at this moment.

Scarlet Legion:
[ ] Ennobling - 2 Arete (2 picks)

Ambition's work is conducted atop the shoulders of giants. Raise up one's servants to appropriately towering stature.

The process of comprehensive elevation of all positive attributes of the blood. Applied continuously over a long period, boons may become permanent and expand in scope, enhancing all qualities of the target and their future offspring. Applies up to +++All Stats to the target, Lifespan improves by fourfold. Elevates the target by .5 Rank to a maximum of 3.5. Does not work on yourself or on species whose native Rank is higher than 4.5.

Effects become permanent after a few weeks focused on a single target, or a few years focused on a small population. Further Advancements may improve both the scale and speed of augmentation. With a thought, the original bestower may retract any boon so given, so long as they possess the Ring of Blood.

Everyone is at least Rank 1.5 in that case, petty as that is by our standards. Letrezia's definitely got more than 1.5 due to Sharpbright, but how much I have no idea.

I took a go at our party members Stats.

Party Stats if everybody has ennobling(+3 All Stats), accounting for Aobaru's Vigorflame and Undying Vanguard:

Undying Vanguard(Adorie's probably too powerful for this due to being Rank 10 but who knows):
Choose up to 5 companions whose true Astral Ranks do not exceed your own. They receive bonus Protection, Constitution and regeneration depending on both your relative power levels and their level of loyalty to you. A highly loyal companion would be about as difficult to kill as you yourself are, including the effects of your Artifacts.

Gisena:
Rank: 1.5 Minimum, Defensive Rank probably higher due to High magical capabilities
Strength/Agility: (3*1.7)+(Whatever passive stat gains Gisena got from Sublime Attainment/True Perfecting Blade*1.7) = 5.1+.1ISH+(1.7*Passive Gisena Stat Gains)
Protection/Constitution: High, approaching Hunger due to investing in her Social Link

End-in-Fire
Creation 5 (Biology 3, Cybernetics 3, Physics 3, Psi-technology 5, Maintenance: Extreme (-1), Expense: None (+2), Self-Replicating (+1))

The End-in-Fire is a nanoswarm capable of direct atomic transmutation, requiring nothing more than matter of any form in order to self-replicate. The nanites are composed of a psionically reactive material perfectly attuned to the emanations of the Crown of Tyranny, allowing the Doctor to manipulate the swarm with surpassing efficiency and precision, capable of manipulating them on both the stellar and subatomic scales with equal ease. As a result of this attunement, each is completely immune to all forms of heat, lesser fires made meaningless in the face of their supernal cousin.

While attuned to him, he may change the replication directive of the nanites, allowing him to produce any non-exotic element in staggering quantities, so long as he has the available mass in nanites to do so. Maintenance requires periodic reattunement to the energy signature of the Crown, reinvigorating themselves by absorbing a fraction of its limitless energies. Failure to do so will result in the nanites becoming inert, ashen grey psisteel, capable of being manipulated by any psionic entity and losing all self-replication functions.

Starforge
Creation 5 (Biology 5, Cybernetics 5, Physics 5, Psi-technology 7, Maintenance: Low (+1), Expense: Extreme (-2), Epic (+1))

Realms empty and desolate may rejoice, for their meaningless orbits have found purpose in the designs of Apocalypse!

Made from nothing less than stellar bodies transformed into End-in-Fire, each Starforge is a fully automated and wholly unyielding engine of destruction and creation, a Faster-Than-Light capable matter forge capable of consuming other interstellar bodies and producing commensurate amounts of End-in-Fire in a matter of hours. Furthermore, due to their structure and the material of their construction, each one acts as a stellar scale psionic amplifier to the Doctor's already apocalyptic mental might. This improves the range, precision and raw might of those abilities exponentially with each Starforge created, allowing the will of Apocalypse to spread across the stars and permeate the galaxy in time.

The Elysian Gardens
Creation 5 (Biology 5, Cybernetics 5, Physics 5, Psitechnology 7, Maintenance: Low (+1), Expense: Extreme (-2), Epic (+1))

"In the case of the high-functioning, oppression comes from the insecurity of the tyrant. Propaganda and terror are wielded against the populace to keep them quiescenct, rightly fearing that a mass uprising would unseat them. Even the so-called "democratically elected" governments are not immune to such, manufacturing consent in the many to take actions that only benefit the few. When my reign begins you shall be freer than you are now, for what action of the free could challenge me?" - Argument #135, I Shall Reign Supreme

He had once claimed that his reign would be a utopian civilization, where all the ills of humanity would be vanquished through the light of knowledge. Now, with the power of entire star systems at his back, the time has come to make good on his promises. Enclose the Terran solar system within a stellar-scale pocket dimension and convert the entirety of it into a self-contained personal universe within the Psionic Realm, anchored to reality in the form of a shining pearl of light.

As as a result of this process, all sentient and sapient beings contained within that are transformed into psionic entities, untouched by mortal concerns. The reality bounded by the Creation is permeated with the Doctor's psionic powers, allowing those otherwise incapable to manipulate their reality on a local scale, so long as those manipulations would not defy the will of Apocalypse. Those that attempt to defy the rule of Apocalypse will have these privileges stripped from them, pending sincere repentance for their foolishness.

The Orb of Artifice
Creation 5 (Biology 5, Cybernetics 5, Physics 5, Psitechnology 7, Maintenance: None (+1), Expense: Extreme (-2))

The Titanomacy awaits. As great as Doctor Apocalypse's genius is now, it may not be sufficient to withstand the full might of twelve living universes turned against him. No matter, he is more than familiar with turning his powers towards self enhancement. By gathering the full set of Elysian Gardens and merging them, the Doctor may tap in to the collective knowledge and will of all the species of the galaxy, granting him unprecedented access to the Collective Unconciousness.

By distributing a small fraction of the resultant cognitive load across all of his citizens, he may elevate his skills with Cybernetics, Physics and Biology to the level of his Generalist Focus. Furthermore, he may discount purchases of higher levels of his Focus by 25%.

The Godlathe
Creation 7 (Biology 7, Cybernetics 7, Physics 7, Psitechnology 7, Maintenance: Low (+1), Expense: Extreme (-2), Epic (+1))

In the physical Realm, the Godlathe takes the form of a galactic scale burning disk of solid light, revolving at hyperluminal speeds, distorting space-time beyond recognition. Even at interstellar scales, the disk gradually appears to be growing ever denser and brighter.

In the Psionic Realm, the machine is a burning maw of endless flame, an singularity of coruscating energy with irresistible gravitation, pulling even the most ancient leviathans of that plane into its inescapable grasp. Within, their minds and spirits are burned like tallow, any semblance of impurity or individuality purged before they are recast into theopoetic fuel for the nascent deity embedded within its core.

Through this filtration and consumption process, the Godlathe may turn all forms of matter and energy towards the task of empowering its creator. As a result, massively discount Powerlevel advancements, so long as the Godlathe has access to raw materials.

The Scepter of Genesis
Creation 10 (Biology 10, Cybernetics 10, Physics 10, Psitechnology 10, Maintenance: None (+2), Expense: Extreme (-2))

"Let there be night."

After the end comes a new beginning. The world to come will be kinder, more glorious, not left to the uncaring whims of circumstance and scarcity. It will be your greatest Creation of all. But first, he must build the tools necessary for the undertaking. First among them is the Scepter, forged from the the bones of the Titans with all the knowledge of Apocalypse in his hour of ascent.

This allows you to achieve any effect attainable at the Eighth level of your Focus instantly and without cost. Furthermore, it discounts the CP cost for designing creations at the Ninth and Tenth level of your Focus as though the effect was eight full levels lower. Such are the powers of one who has attained the peak of a specialist in the breadth of a generalist.

A.N: kinda ran out of steam on this so i'm just posting it. not seen here: supplementary creations, upgrades to previous creations and most importantly, K R I S T A

The classic description of the Accursed's Power is that he can make 1=2, or Fish = Mango.
The following is a limited subsection of interpretations of 'Fish=Mango'. This list is by no means exhaustive, but nor would I call it short. Each Bolded word or phrase heralds a new interpretation, separating them clearly from one-another.

so, first of all, there's the human-comprehensible in non-abstract terms variant of fish=mango, achievable by any medium-strength reality warper. this consists of simply replacing everything which is a fish with a mango, instantly and before anything can interact with its fishness. In this case, fish=mango, but mango!= fish, and one could argue this is a workaround, rather then a fundamental alteration to the nature of fish and mangos; after all, this is accomplishable with mere complete control over physical reality!
then there's a less-comprehensible instance where fish=mango and mango=fish; rather then all fish being mangos, mango and fish are truly synonemous. We can visualize this in set theory by taking the set of all fish properties, and the set of all mango properties, and adding them together. so for instance, fish have scales and breath under water. mangos have plant peal skin stuff and grow on trees, I think. So when fish=mango and mango=fish, mangos have scales and grow on trees, and also they breath underwater and can swim and their skin can be removed like a mango. They simultanously have every property fish and mangos have. some of these properties are seemingly contradictory; fish(before this alteration) swim around and mangos (before the alteration) are stuck to a tree; but mangos aren't Always stuck to trees, only while growing, so that may the equivalent to fish in eggs. of course, since we've only altered fish and mangos and not fish-eggs and mango-trees, the trees grow fish/mangos and the eggs also grow fish/mangos, instead of some kind of tree-egg which grows fish-mangos.
then there's the numerical take where 'fish = mango' just means 'the numerical value of fish is equal to the numerical value of mango'. or, to put it another way, fish and mango both have the same weight (or height or density or whatever you're comparing). This one is also achievable via complete control of physical reality.
there is also the problem sleuth edition of the fish=mango and mango=fish effect: While fish does = mango, this doesn't manifest constantly. rather, at random times or nonspecifically-determined times, if there is a fish, instead there is a mango, and vice versa. Like pumpkins and air, or keys and guns, minus the comedic timing. This version allows for fish and mango to be seperate concepts in a sensible manner.
then there's the concept-layer instance of the first example: rather then replacing all physical instances of fish with instances of mangos, you replace the concept of fish with the concept of mangos, so that the definition of fish is a fleshy, oval, yellowish-red tropical fruit that is eaten ripe or used green for pickles or chutneys., and the definition of mango is also a fleshy, oval, yellowish-red tropical fruit that is eaten ripe or used green for pickles or chutneys.. this could replace all extant fishes with mangos, or not, depending on the interactions between conceptual space and physical reality; if physical fish continued to exist, everyone would need to find new terms for them and be unable to use the term fish for them, because they're not fleshy, oval, yellowish-red, or tropical fruits.
Finally- or rather, lastly within this list-, another instance of the unidirectional fish=mango, where '=' is interpreted as equivalent to 'is' as in that one SMBC where someone mistakenly believes hitler=love because they thought 'is means =' instead of '= means is'. so Fish-is-mango. This is like taking the set of all fish and putting it inside the set of all mangos, and the resulting relationship between fish and mangos is something like how all squares are rectangles but not all rectangles are squares. So while all previous instances of 'fish' would now be simultaneously slimy scaly-skinned water-swimming animals, and yellow-red fruit from the tropics, there would still be yellow-red fruit from the tropics which are not slimy, scaled water-swimming animals.

There's at least one more interpretation I was going to write, but I got sidetracked and forgot it.
(this interpretations originally posted on the discord and transferred to increase visibility...
and also shamelessly for Arete. more the second then the first, really.)

Alright, should we consider getting Amazing Grace? Now, one thing to note about this option is that it's just very, very good. To begin with, something like Vanquisher and Auspice alone would put Gisena on Armament tier combat speed, and then you just pay another 12 Arete for Sealing Protocol and now you have empowered Nullity against relevant opponents. All in all, you'd get Hunger relevant ally with relatively little investment. More importantly, ever upgrade to Gisena expedites her road to magic singularity that can engineer solutions to our problems at will, which has obvious utility. While we could get there without taking Amazing Grace here, that would easily mean another two or so months of buildup before we get to that point.

Now, the price is that we don't get other picks. Repair is mostly worthless and it doesn't really matter, but picks do matter. This would basically translate to not having SJUC for the next Apo proc and FK for Decimator, and then spending Arete on picks generated by the Apo proc. Overall, it would be situation not dissimilar to Procyon fight, where we floated a lot of Arete without being able to translate it into the power.

On the other hand, that Arete is still there. So if we do take the risk, get Amazing Grace and solder through Apo proc despite not having an EFB, we would come up on top. Risk, reward and so on.

Should we take that risk? Probably not. Still, it is something to take into consideration.

Yeah, Gisena getting a 10000% boost to research speed was pretty much the entire reason for the crack Omake I wrote a few pages back. That would drive 3-week research projects to 5.04 hours. If she grabbed the Clarion build Rihaku mentioned, that would go down even more because Numeracy Ten Thousand basically gives you ten thousand of your mind to work with, meaning the Int/Wits bonus from that would apply through the multiplier. Heck, the new three week projects would take 5.75 years currently.

As I mentioned then, there's no way Rihaku's going to let us do that, because Apocryphal wouldn't be able to escalate fast enough to kill her before she trivialized the local multiverse, and then Hunger could spend the next 2400 years training while he waited for Gisena to go beyond multiverse level, or, more progress than she'd make in 240000 years currently.

Still, I think we should grab Fisher King and Ruling Ring for the 30 Arete, and see what our Picks can give us. Who knows? Maybe we'll be able to share some of Hunger's Progression without penalizing his, or perhaps upgrade the Realm's training speed to accomplish much the same effect within the Realm. Sure, we'll only get a week out of it, but hey, a 50% more out a week could mean a lot.

underestimating the Apocryphal curse is an interesting hobby to pick up, but the risks to our life which result from that are obvious. The Apocryphal Curse is functionally omnipotent on our level and could throw seven armaments at us within the next minute. It probably won't, but it Can do whatever it so pleases.

Seven armaments wouldn't be interesting, they would just stomp us. Apocryphal can do anything it wants but it has to be interesting. Challenges we can't beat are boring, That's Apocryphal's limitation. It has to treat this as a game, something we have a chance of winning/dealing with. It can't just rocks fall everyone dies.

It can, however, set up a situation where Hunger chooses to go the stupid route. See Cursebearer's Strain into Hold the Line for reference, if we hadn't had rerolls that would've been game over.

There's always a chance, but the best chances might be ones we don't want to take.

Now all he needs, is the skill.
I have a bad habit of trying to relitigate past votes, but I promise that's not what this is.

For the heroic advancement, we had two options that would have improved Hunger's skills. Saber improved our mundane swordsmanship (among other things) and Crimson Flare improved our skill with the Ring of Blood.

I wonder if there are any methods of practice that we could develop moving forward that would fill in some of these skills. The Ring debuffs normal study sessions, but Hunger can still learn things. Practice at killing enemies using only bloodcasting, or using specific blood-curses, could be a way to unlock skill advancements for the Ring.

The Sword is a little harder to develop mundane skill imo, because our stats are so comically overwhelming for most human-scale enemies. Dueling just isn't really a necessary skill when you are operating in Bullet Time compared to your opponent. Instead, a similar tactic could be used as with the Ring: say that we will beat an enemy using only two strikes of the sword, or maybe using no fewer than 100 hits, to develop precision.

Its hard to come up with tactics without also speculating about the kind of blurbs that will be available. However, with FK + SJUC there won't be much Arete left over for Philosopher's Wreath or other costly advancements. An Echo of the Forebear analogue, focused on technique instead of stats would be very welcome. For the Ring, Augment Dominion seems to be the relevant advancement. We could take it again for a .1 boost to casting Rank, or hope for a more focused Skill advancement.

This doesn't really line up with the idea that no action of the free could challenge his rule. I think it would be better to change it to something along the lines of 'As they are a part of the Doctor's personal reality, none could possibly defy him, for his own personal realm could be nothing more than his will manifest.'
It can't just rocks fall everyone dies.
It can, that's what Apocryphal Onslaught is.

That develops the strength of each blow rather than skill. We'd probably be better off summoning an Astral entity with supreme enclosure for sword training, or use Pillars to accomplish something similar.

"No fewer than 100" would be good practice for controlling the location & depth of our strikes. Hunger is at the point where a few solid hits would be enough to clobber most enemies. Requiring multiple hits gives us more time to practice!

I don't really think practicing against weaker opponents will do much to improve Hunger's skill, attacking with precision would not be difficult when he is moving at what would appear to be slow motion from his perspective, it's doing so while not limiting his speed that would be.
Can the Red reinforce this?
Essence manipulation of inanimate objects is supposed to be within its capabilities with sufficient mastery.

Fanwork#1900 words

The flight to the Sweetwater was long and arduous. Despite flying in literally a straight line, I managed to get turned around more than once, and occasionally end up running into a real monster rather than just more Risen. Nothing I haven't been able to put down with a bolt or two, though I've had to stitch a couple times, since some kind of ethereal bat-thing with real fast flight kept getting the drop on me. It went down easy once I had a lock on its angle, though.

Aside from that, I spent pretty much all of my time flying and practicing my verses. I was using Step Up as I flew already, but I didn't achieve much progress in the week and change it took me to get to the Sweetwater, maybe shaved a fraction of a second off the recitation time. Average Progression still isn't fast, so not much of a surprise there. I didn't figure out any more Verses, despite burning Perfect Storm: Elemental Bolt for Inspiration, but I had a feeling I was getting close. It's a pretty minor point, but I was also getting in shape, just because of Resilient I think. It's easy to diet when you don't need to eat anymore. Unfortunately I wasn't actually getting much stronger physically, I might have put on a little bit more muscle, but even with Tenfold I didn't notice any real change.

The Sweetwater itself was...beautiful. It clashed utterly with the foreboding forest it ran through. The water sparkled, almost glowed in the moonlight, and despite the air being freezing cold the water was merely cool, nearly warm even. Just like Elegne had said, the water flowed gentle and true to the north. The smell of Spring wafted across the water already, even though it was the middle of Winter. Traveling was also much easier now that I'd gotten to the river, whose magic did indeed seem to hold my course steady. I was in eyeshot of Stonebridge by the next morning, standing monumentally tall on the horizon, and I was flying over the outer ring of farms as night fell a couple hours later.

I predicted they had contingencies in place for hostile magi, and I didn't want to risk running into that, so I lowered my altitude and speed, stopping teleporting constantly, and followed what seemed to be a road headed towards the city proper. The farms were well organized, arranged in annular sections, and irrigated directly from the river. The plants seemed to be growing perfectly fine, despite being utterly out of season, likely thanks to the same magical properties that gave the river its spring-sweet air. Certainly, it was a pleasant flight, and despite not needing to eat, I was beginning to look forward to a celebratory meal once I was actually inside the city.

Once I was close to the city wall, I touched down and walked the rest of the way, failing to resist the urge to gawk. The walls were one thing, literally monolithic, like someone just lifted a ring of earth up whole from the ground before cutting a hole through it to let the Sweetwater through, but the castle itself was another. An arch of stone that towered over the walls and dominated the sky, casting a shadow in the moonlight across a strip of city like some kind of massive moon-dial.
Somewhat less impressive was the lack of any gateway I could access from solid ground. There were plenty of gates, of course, to let farmers move their wares into the city, but those weren't inlets for strangers such as myself, and there were both human guards and magical wards protecting them, and I wasn't sure I could fight my way through, let alone wanted to. So, instead, I backtracked up the river a bit and thought about it for a few subjective minutes. I tried just swimming into the city, but that seemed to trigger an alarm pretty much immediately, and I stitched back before I could get into real trouble. Next, I flew further out and hacked down and tree, fashioned it into a sort-of canoe, and tried paddling down the river instead, but that caught the alarms as well. I'd guess there's some sort of magical identification necessary to get in, even through the river inlet. Hopping onto a proper riverboat and bribing the captain to keep me aboard seemed to be my only option. I backtracked even further up the river until I found a riverboat headed towards the city, then landed, making sure to make no sudden moves as I submitted to the two guards waiting for me on the deck. The two of them radiated intense auras, heavy enough I could practically feel them settling on my shoulders and forcing me to my knees. Something in the back of my mind told, this was Astral Rank, pressure that would suppress me as long as they saw me as a threat, and even then it would weigh on me, pulling me into their metaphorical orbit, to a degree.

The guards were armored in what I'd guess was shadow-leather. I'm not sure how they got it to keep that weird half-real look after killing the beast they took it from, but it looked tough. The two of them wore masks, like animal caricatures too warped for me to tell what they were supposed to be. They were both stoically silent as they took me inside the ship, dragging me down a short staircase and across a hallway towards what seemed to be the captain's quarters.

"Ah, Crocodile, Strix, I see you've apprehended the bogey you spotted earlier tonight." A matronly voice stated as my captors opened the door. I supposed that answers what the masks are supposed to be, though I don't exactly know what a 'strix' is. "Well, aren't you a pathetic little creature..." the presumed captain says as she comes into my view. I'm not entirely sure what I expected, perhaps something closer to the attire of a sailor, but no, the captain looked more like an overfed victorian socialite, with a massive hairdo including sparkling-sharp hairpin-sword and that big sort of dress with a straining corset and bell-shaped skirt with lots of layers and frills. As I adjusted to the even greater weight of her pressure settling on me, I also noticed that she must have been huge, maybe twenty feet tall when she stood upright going from how high the ceiling was, and even sitting down I still had to look up at quite an angle to look her in the eyes. "Who are you, puny thing? And why shouldn't I skewer you here and now?"

Her pressure shifted from my shoulders to my gut, and I couldn't stop her from squeezing the truth out of me. "I'm an outlander! No one knows me but I go by the name Fib! I made a deal with someone powerful, I can be useful to you! My body is strong for its size, and tireless, needing neither food nor sleep! I can teach spells of a relatively versatile magic system! With preparation, I can transform into a powerful fighter for a few minutes! I can aid with clerical or intellectual tasks, and will become more able to do so over time, through a function of the magic system that I can share! I can fly with significant speed, and can carry cargo discreetly! I can create temporary fortifications that can resist meaningful magical assault! I can summon wind, rain, and storms with sufficient time! I will likely develop a large number of other abilities over the coming years, assuming I survive! I can use a verbal memetic weapon to make people more impressionable, though it isn't especially strong and is counterbalanced by a supernatural aura of disgust that targets me!" A small part of me was thankful that a mouthful like that still wasn't much compared to the continuous Verse practice I'd been doing on the flight here.

The captain considered my qualifications for a moment, turning away and scratching her chin. I could feel the pressure on me lighten by a fraction before she said anything. "Alright, I'll take you on. You're not leaving my sight until we have your contract written in stone, and in the meantime, we can discuss the specifics of what work you'll be doing for me. Crocodile, Strix, return to your posts."

The two guards left your flanks, and the captain allowed you to stand, though it barely changed the angle which she towers over me at. She explained her status as the mistress of Bellevue, an independent territory amidst the headwaters of the Sweetwater, near the southern edge of the Risen Lands, in the Shadowback mountains. Stonebridge and Coalshore were Bellevue's primary trade partners, though her wares would go on to percolate throughout the rest of the Risen Lands from Stonebridge and to much of the Reaches along the Flaying Sea's rim from Coalshore.

Madam Bellevue was here in Stonebridge returning from a meeting with clients, and would have only been staying long enough to resupply, but with my addition, they would have to wait however long it took for them to work through the queue for the Stones of Law to have my contract inscribed. While we waited for that, I would be demonstrating my powers that I could demonstrate safely, training the Madam and myself in the Verses, and sitting in on any meetings or deals that she makes.

We also discussed the particulars of the long-term contract, which would include housing at the Bellevue Manor as well as a modest stipend, and involved doing...basically whatever the Madam wanted. I couldn't be compelled to do anything that would be a crime by the law of the Stones, or to take my own life, or that put my life too much at risk, and after a term of fifty years the contract would have to be renewed, but aside from that I would essentially be her slave. If I were to break the contract, the law-keepers in the house of the Stones would be notified magically, and the Madam would be free to call upon their considerable resources to set things right. Technically I could also call upon the law-keepers if the Madam broke her end of the contract, but given I had no way of contacting them, that didn't seem especially useful.

Ultimately, though, I felt it was tolerable. I didn't have enough pride to take issue with the idea of it in abstract, and while I didn't trust her per se, I trusted that she possessed the baseline competence to see the sort of value I could bring her if she used me well. I had to hope I wouldn't run into depression problems, but with most of my physical issues fixed by my transmogrification, I didn't think that hope would be unfounded. It'd be rough, but it seems like it would provide me with plenty of opportunities to develop and master new Verses, to advance my Step Up, and to develop connections with powerful people. The Madam herself seemed to be someone of significance, at least in the domain of the Sweetwater, and having my name associated with hers would likely do me more good than bad. Plus, in fifty years' time, I'd likely be plenty powerful enough to barter as an equal with her. All told, as the Madam's boat pulled up to the river dock, I felt pretty happy with this arrangement.
