We Will Never Die: Rebooted (A Halo Spartan Quest)

Such methods and ideas were needed to totally destroy the enemy, but compared to the other spartans… you were dreadfully slow.

Reward: Battlefield Tactics set to
Looks like you're missing the end to the reward sentence. I assume it's set to marine level, since the roll was comparable to our rifle training.

you know im almost thinking of making a omake where our bullshit medical crap skill ends up with us pushing the spartans into captain america level fuckery as a BASELINE before the spartan enhancements...

which case all 74 of our bro's and sis's survive...and thrive a bit more.

You shook your head. "Is someone at ONI blackmailing you to try and remove me from the program, because I know my father is far more direct at those sorts of things, he cannot stand making people do his own dirty work, it's not in his nature?"
Mendez has… suspended an activity…a joint exercise with the Base Marines.

And then he threw you to the wolves.

You have a sneaking feeling Oni agents were involved.

Oh well… it's not like they can try to kill you right now, you're the Navy's property.
Ok, who at ONI is already trying to steal us away? Ackerson trying to get his 3's up already?

Parangosky approved most of the aspects of the S2 program, so would be counterproductive to sabotage her own program unless Halsey did something behind the scenes to piss her off with a candiate she had eyes on (us)

[X]Daisy: "Hey… look someone left me some money in my pocket."
[X]A City: Wow… New Alexandria is big…. Best try to blend into the crowds. You hope it's a weekend, or the schools will think your cutting class.

[X]John: John glared at the sky. "Gian… You okay?"

So @Magoose just how powerful will we be when dealing with the covenant and if we fend off the covenant in Reach what will happen.
Let me put it to you this way.

By the time you finish training, you can have anywhere from +100 to +300 to combat rolls.

Now, the enemy you will be facing will have close to +400... but yeah... You can curbstomp most any human opponent like they were tissue paper.

Its a reference to a Peter Watts novel that has significant notoriety among many parts of the web. Its... less than cheery. Its one of the most cynical depictions of the universe ever written, putting Revelation Space to shame there.

A Vampire in that is a subspecies of hominid that existed in our prehistory that thinks very differently to the way we do. They have little sense of personal self but are brilliant, terrible things that see everything around them as processes of cause and effect. They tend to do things like absentmindedly causing brutal fight or flight reactions in everything around them by knowing just what buttons to push, even being able to cause seizures among baseline humans by producing the right sounds. Their existence is one that puts to lie the idea that 'people' are sovereign things and not just deterministic engines of meat. (They tended to predate our hominid ancestors but that is neither here nor there)

We have a similar capacity to break people through what should be a few innocent words.

Hold your horses man, you need to sit down and actually look at the Halo timeline

Reach was the endgame, 2552, it isnt even 2525 yet. Harvest has not fallen, we havent gotten augs or armor, and even our training hasnt been completed yet.
If anything, we should focus on seeing who we can find out may try to escape-also targeted.. for example James could be good one to track since hes one of the true MIA Spartans

Wow just wow I want to be there when it happens but with more spartans

Don't worry bout most of the spartans... they'll be fine... especially when we're involved.

well shit...

+400 to their combat rolls?

unless we have lots of fucking back-up, good tech, and bloody damn TIME...were fucked.

we NEED to get better FTL coms, better FTL, and fucking better tech upgrades as soon as possible...

tech can be one of three things, fast, cheap, or good...pick two. (personally cheap and good is enough for me in most cases...otherwise its good and fast)

Well first off, that's just spartans themselves, not the UNSC (Baring a few exceptions... Looking at you Keys and Cole)

Having an escapade with our teammate in the city will be interesting to say the least!

Why do I get the feeling the CPO may also be whipping seven shades of crap out of some of the base staff and marines right now.

Misconception here

Magoose is talking the base S2's out of training and equipped with armor... heres a little secret about the early MJOLNIR armor

It did not have energy shields. That was reverse engineered from the Covenant

As for rest of the UNSC, thats equal to canon. Covenant have a hilarious tech and space advantage over the whole of the UNSC. And just looking at some of their species (Hunters and Brutes as example) shows how terrifying they are to average Marine or army troopers..

UNSC fought a long losing war, its why spartans were so important.. only things capable of fighting covies on equal ground (and even Blue Team fled when they first encountered Hunters on Sigma Octanus IV, as nothing even they had could stop them)

ok...but endless hordes of enemies will be a issue...not to mention i think it was mentioned that the fleet that's assaulting human space? Is a Anti-Pirate fleet...or should be.

Thus in cannon humanity wasn't fighting the full covenant armada. at least not until way later in the war when things got dicey...even then it may have been treated as a exercise to keep the covenant's armies up to notch while dealing with the banished and other heretic armies/campaigns.

not to mention the one thing that prevented them from total wipe out of human species was our ability to spite the enemy from finding our worlds...one and only damn thing that gave us 30+ years to live.

edited:...just thinking...if we ever do that cannon first fight with the covenant...could we scavenge the jackal gauntlet's? that way using them would keep most of our team from you know, having breached suits...and hopefully if shit does go wrong we can find a few unused short ranged space craft to get out of dodge and run like hell back home before the nuke goes off.

Because he is.

He's Very worried that someone is actually trying to kill us.

He had exercises planned for us, and now, he has to make the marines suffer through hell because their the only ones around to see him worry.

Only the Spartans are allowed to see him worried.

If you can't see the sarcasm here... Well, it's because i decided not to use emoji's

But he is worried about us.

Or we can invent Energy shields independently of Covie tech because we're awesome.

Given the way the characters kidnapping played out in a way that the ONI spooks didn't expect. The fact we are playing a Spartan 1.1 also throw in the additional happy thought of the fact as well as being one of the Project Orion surviours the MC farther apparently knows a lot of people and scares the hell out of the agents who took the main character implies someone some where is ether panicking and making snap decision or is worried about the force his farther could throw at them and setting us up to ethier take a fall hard or kill us in an accident or a direct means one fine day.
