We Will Never Die: Rebooted (A Halo Spartan Quest)

[X] Plan Make an impression
-[X]Go To Class
-[X]Listen: Absorb the lesson being taught to you, it could be important.
-[X]Participate in Extracurricular Activities: What the hell, you might have some fun with this.
-[X]Hand to Hand: "So someone has the balls to do hand to hand the First day...I'm impressed." and for a brief moment, it was the nicest thing the SDI has said to you all day which was not saying a lot because he then threw you down to the ground in a chokehold.

If we want to change anything we're going to have to work at it. No-one is going to take us seriously yet, so let's get their attention. Also this totally counts as doing something with our hands.

I have to wonder why they are going through the steps they are in canon. They are using flash cloning technology to create disposable duplicates of us to die in our place, giving the Spartan program shielding from inquiry, but they could arguably have just used normal cloning procedures and waited an extra six years. You have the genetic samples from extant demigods and, presumably, any biologically identical copies of said demigods should work just as well. Six years really is not that long a time and, this way, you wouldn't need to ever lose your civilization's one in a billion exemplars. Its the rapid maturation part that results in dead children.

I'm wondering if our flashclone got a nice humane bullet to the back of its (or his, since the clone is as much a person as we are) head. I imagine we'd be rather philosophical about this whole thing and maybe they are using the kid for translating or something before he dies of cancer or whatnot. It would be good to use him as a blueprint for a smart AI in his last moments. They manufactured Cortana through a crapton of sacrificial clones.

In other news, I am going to make it a point to write the first research paper on the Flood once we know about them... purely so we can name the dangly bits of their that they use to infect people during melee. I want their proper name to go down as the Flood's 'infesticles'.

We are allowed a few childish moments.

The Problem is, most of the flash clones don't really have the memories to really become those demigods.

Even ours would have fallen to... various mental illnesses due to our... well reincarnation issues.

Our Flash clone is dead, killed by the ONI strike team after we came quietly.

I don't think the peer-reviewed paper would be allowed to publish with such a vulger name as our main selling point.

Its more about just having people who have the potential. Clone them conventionally, starting as fetuses in tanks, bring them up in creche conditions over six years, continue on as normal from there. We would have had the potential regardless of who raised us, barring something severely fucked up, just based on genetics.

I'd shake the hands of those who did it, honestly. They have a rough line of work and they didn't wake up expecting they'd have to clean a child's brain matter out of their pants. Its better that they did it, though.

Oh, but a man can dream...

Not saying that ONI hasn't tried that...

But they've tried that. And its even more expensive than the Spartan-II program.

ONI gang got some trauma!
Oh, but a man can dream...
Yes, you can dream.

Well guys if we become the leader of all The Spartans then that probably makes John one of the founding leaders along with us to guide the others to a more successful recruits as more have made it to become Spartans

While i don't think we should become the Leader, i'm fine with that, but i'll keep my posture about being in other team than the Chief, i would like to know other SPARTAN's outside of Chief and his team.

Well depending on how we develop, may be able to prevent some spartan deaths in the years to come..

We definitely do have the attention of the higher ups in the program, so they will be paying especially close attention to us..

-[X]Go To Class: You are tired, maybe you can get some rest in class. Maybe you might actually learn something.

You followed the other children to the classroom. Some children stayed outside, looking at the instructors with some sweaty ease as if the extracurricular activities seemed fun to them. Or they just did not want to be part of the classroom environment.

You were not one of them. Classes meant learning something, or at the very least a place to sit down and rest, your body needed it after all the exercise you had to do this morning.

In the classroom, there were trays and trays of liquids and crackers, set up for everyone in the whole gaggle of children.

You took one of each and ate the salted crackers that were there. It tasted stale, but that could have been your thirsty tongue is dry. The liquid tasted strange as well like it was expired. But the carton said it was whole milk.

You did not like milk, it always made your stomach feel strange. But it was a liquid that could replenish the lost fluids that you sweated out during the morning.

Then the hologram appeared a blue woman who looked like a Greek goddess, barefoot, wrapped in the toga, motes of light dancing about her luminous white hair and holding a clay tablet in her left hand as if it were controlling everything she did. She gave a smile to everyone as she spoke. "Hello, Spartans. My name is Deja, and I will be your teacher." There was a quiet air as the hologram flickered before it stopped, and she crossed her arms. "Sorry about that."

The room became dark and on the screen behind Deja, there was a painted scene. There were dozens of men standing together in a formation. It was then your mind folded and you recognized the scene, despite never seeing it.

The Battle of Thermopylae. The Spartans and their allies held off the Persians forces for three days, only being dislodged and destroyed when they were betrayed, and Leonidas told the forces of the other Greek cities to retreat, leaving the Spartans to fight alone.

They would all die. And remain legends for all time.

---[X]Rest: Your body is not feeling very well. You need to relax a little.

Light was sitting at a chair, watching something from a window. To you, it looked like a shadow… but to him a memory.

He looked barely older than a child… Older than you. He was short, his hair was cut, but growing back… slowly. His eyes were covered in bags, exhaustion, and stress.

But what disturbed you, was the body squirming on the table next to him… still alive, yet… also not. You knew what was happening but also didn't. Like Light wanted you to not understand what was happening, but also…

You did understand. That man was being tortured.

"Doctor." A man walked into the room, his hands covered in plastic gloves. "Has he said anything yet?"

Light looked up. "No. His wounds have stabilized, and I can't afford to take him off the painkillers for fear he may die from shock."

The man nodded, but also patronized him, by tapping his back. "Cut off the painkillers and give him some adrenaline. I want to speak to him."

Light froze. "He will die if you do that!" He protested.

"Then I will just bring in another." The other man stated. "Get him up."

Light did as he asked… without question.

You saw how he was afraid.

Then it became dark.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Light smiled. "Enjoy the show?" He asked, he was not happy, but more relieved.

"I didn't mean to-"

Light laughed. "Oh, I can't exactly hide my memories away from you… I just wanted you to know exactly what makes me wish to… be who I am. And what made me who I am?"

"You were a torturer?"

"A doctor." He replied. "I was a doctor conscripted into my… governments corps of… well torturers. I was there for a year, before I ran off, and ventured into the stars." He than chuckled. "Invented a hyperdrive system that allowed me to go far faster than the speed of light. And it was such a wonderful thing, being out in the cosmos."

He nodded his head. "But I had to go back, and save everyone. So i did… and retired to a life of invention, science and wonder."

You gave a small exhale, not knowing what to truly say. "Are you afraid for me?"

"No. I'm only afraid you will become something far worse than me. I will do my best to help you… but the rest is up to you." He replied.

"Be better than me." He replied, begging as he faded away.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The class was over… Thankfully, everyone was very tired, and no one noticed you, staring off into space.

Reward: Unknown...

[X]Participate in Extracurricular Activities: What the hell, you might have some fun with this.
-[X]First Aid: Light wanted you to learn first aid… something about… needing to be calm.

The First aid class was beyond boring.

You knew everything already, thanks to light…

Hell, considering everything, you were grossly overqualified for this…

You were a trauma surgeon dammit!

Reward: First Aid Set to Spartan Level

First Aid (Spartan): You are such an expert at medical training, you are considered a doctor. (+50 to healing rolls to allies and yourself.)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The lesson's words were in your mind, but now they were jumbled. The memory in your mind was jumbling the words of the lesson and from First Aid.

You followed your fellow children out of the classroom and joined CPO Mendez on another run. This time it was the long run, and in the end, there was an obstacle course waiting for you.

It was a long one, and one you could not entirely see due to your size.

"YOU WILL BE ASSIGNED TEAMS!" Mendez stated. "AND THEN THERE WILL BE A COMPETITION ON THE OBSTACLE COURSE!"

Which team are you assigned to:
[]Blue Team John-117, Kelly-087, Sam-034
[]Red Team: Fred-104, Linda-58, Will-043
[]Green Team: Li-006, Anton-044, Grace-093
[]Gold Team: Victor-101, Isaac-039, Vinh-030,
[]Grey Team: Robert-025,Leon-011,August-099
[]Black Team: Margaret-053 ,Roma-143 ,Otto-031
[]Purple Team: Daisy-023, Caleb-095, Ralph-103
[]White Team: Jorge-052, Cal-141, Naomi-010, Serin-019

AN: Enjoy.

Also, as you can guess, there is not a full roster of Spartans for teams.

But, I didn't want to spend a massive amount of time trying to do everything.

[X]Blue Team John-117, Kelly-087, Sam-034

Team Doc-Dad is ago...and I hope we can keep the Spartans sane and at least stable from this hell-hole.
