[X] she's building some kind of armoured thingy this time??? she used her money from her new app to rent a plasma cutter and stuff, its wild. like a whole suit
[X] its some cool new robotic arm designs? they've got all sorts of gadgets, jointed more like tentacles, and they're twice as strong as anything she's built before.
[X] shes taking another run at a new prosthetic. this one is human-shaped at least, but its all steel and heavy duty plastics. for special occasions.

Here's my logic: While having more cool vaguely alien prosthetics is cool, I'd rather we only want them, rather than need them - as such, armor. Also the all-important factor of "if some cop shoots us, we don't just die of bullet hole." Death by bullet is a very real risk that I do not want us to have. And having to make another new prosthetic means a lot of time spent that we don't need to spend. After that, making the currently needed prosthetic for heroing not fucking awful. I'd rather Liv not have to deal with the continuous suffering of dealing with shittyarm. Finally, MORE ARMS. Because I wasn't joking about wanting more alien prosthetic arms, and more robot arms means more things we can do at once.

So, really, I'm just trying to maximize armage here, because more arms (or limbs in general really) = better. We better have more arms than a whole factory by the time we're done.

[] a remote control hero suit. I think shes planning to go out while shes at work or smth.

Remote control hero suit. Also might help if anyone needs to "meet" Athena or if Liv needs to be rescued or evacced after an injury.

[] shes gone full biohacker. on her eyes. ugh ugh ugh. no idea what she's actually wiring in but she was muttering about millimeter wave radar last week.

See through walls etc.

[] a bunch of teeny lasers on teeny turrets. she says it's so she can project diagrams and distract people but i saw eye-tracking and dazzler subroutines. not sure im happy with it but she says at worst it'll go away after a day or two and it'll keep people from shooting or punching her I guess???

An array of laser-dazzlers that can also be used to draw maps on walls and blind analog optics that Liv can't hack. To be precise, these would be class 2 lasers, which can't cause damage because they're in the visible-light range and the blink reflex limits exposure time to 0.25 seconds, or class 3B lasers that are safe in dazzle mode because they fire millisecond-long pulses that limit the total delivered energy.

[] she mounted speakers and microphones literally everywhere and is turning herself into a walking nsa surveillance array. she can hear every word and footstep within like two hundred feet of her apartment now. it's creepy but should be useful for spying on drug dealers?

Acoustic omniscience suite. Super useful for avoiding patrols, spying on bad guys, and not getting ambushed.

[] she's covered the suit in panels of this cool color-changing cloth and hooked it up to an ai that uses it to break up her silhouette and make it look like she's moving in different directions all the time. it's nearly impossible to look at her in the mirror when she has it running.

Less of a stealth suite and more of a visual ECM system - disrupts attempts to figure out where she is or how she's moving in confused environments like fistfights. Basically, where active camo in Halo and Crysis are ultra-tech ghillie suits, this is ultra-tech dazzle camo.

these are all rad, if a little aaaaaaaaaaaah

Brainstorming is vebyast catnip. Tried for things that were a little less uuuuuuuuuuuuhhhhh this time.

[] fun fact rolled steel is like the most elastic material known to mankind and she's built these new legs that can bend like springs and then throw her like thirty feet in the air. and catch her safely, thankfully. it's really cool but also terrifying.

Powerbocks with more mass allotted, which let Liv put in bigger springs to store more mechanical energy and give the springs more travel so she can extract more energy without pasting herself. Since they're mounted to a super-suit with extra arms, Liv can load potential energy into the springs while stationary and transition in a single cycle to full-height or full-speed bouncing. Also a thing she could theoretically do to kick down a wall if she needed to. Basically the "way stronger arms" option, but lower sustained power and less precision in return for dramatically higher peak power and force.

[] rocket boots i shit you not

I found this page while looking for the previous page and it's clearly ludicrously impractical but also too awesome to pass up.

[] a new facemask with a bunch of leds and some servos to make it change shape a bit. she's been worrying that she's too intimidating when she's in costume because it hides some of her facial expressions and this should help.

Exactly what it says on the tin. Everything else has been physical upgrades so I went looking for social-fu improvements.

[] she went deep on the controls theory. literally no hardware changes, but, like, there was a fly in the workshop last week and she did the karate kid thing. on purpose.

Straightforward speed+precision upgrade.

edit: Honestly it's way too late for any of these options to get traction in the vote but I'm happy adding things to the ideas doc! I brainstorm for the sake of creativity. :)

[] she's been tinkering with like, micro-bots - literal bugs - swarm awareness and stuff

...I both do, and do not, want to vote for the write-in self-hypnosis option.

[X] We're getting a dog. Well, quite a few more legs than a dog. But it's fast, though, cuddly and just smart enough that I don't have to puppet it everytime it encounters a ledge.

I know, I know, that's four and we only get three. But they're three very useful things, plus one black box, and, uh, curiosity? Curiosity.

Also, good dog. Spiderdog! Must have.

The chat was a lot of fun to read, and reads as plausible from our limited perspective as a very different kind of system.

Now I'm going to be boring and vote for boring practical things.

[X] shes building a robot glove for punching things! its so absurd, oh my god. it has hydraulic pistons and stuff! and i think she wants to electrify it!??!?

I can't see Liv walking away from getting the crap beaten out of her, losing an arm, and going through a bunch of trauma recovering, and then NOT getting some armor. She's a smart cookie, and smart cookies learn their lessons well

Just in case this one does gain traction I would like to point out that MMW radar in your eyes will not allow you to see through walls but will allow you to see walls in great detail. This is useful in the dark or in smoke or something and there are probably other ways we could do wallhacks, I'm just sorting the plausible technobabble now.

Oops. That concept started out using x-ray backscatter systems, but even though those systems are safe (three OOM smaller dose from the scan than from the flight itself, used extensively for scanning cargo for human trafficking) they're probably even more uuuuuuuuh maybe not. I think that I also got confused by studies I've seen that analyze disturbances in ambient wifi signals to do pose detection through walls, which is in the ghz range rather than thz.

Other things that could be hooked up include sonar, lidar, and thermal.

This is all I want.

[x] more limbs. it's true, she wants pedipalps now. two new limbs with a bunch features for fine manipulation, designed to work near her hands.

Boring but stable, a general upgrade. The arms are our staple, and haven't gotten much love, they will be showing their age soon if we don't. Armour is a gamechanger against normals, and is a general support for identity protection and general wellness against most everyone. I am certain that a little heavy-metal around our person won;t go amiss against the inevitable massive radiation overdose and ensuing surprisingly-stable mutations. The prosthetic helps with identity protection, shores up what might otherwise have been a bit of a weak link, and benefits from all our prosthetic research, so seems sort-of inevitable.

Some more write ins

[ ] She's been playing with some of those left over smart fabric scraps, something about reactive pigmentation? (More traditional optical camo. Octocamo if you will)

[ ] She just got her hands on some of those prerelease 8G micro transmitters and won't stop phreaking out over them (increased range and/or penetration for her technopathy)

[ ] She's been hitting up the SHIELD archives for fodder for this new neural net she's been working on (combat predictive algorithms... Though she'd probably need Athena to use them quick enough to be useful)

Also, was that a yes or a no on the arc reactor?
