I mean... it's nice in a shitty way. We'd still need them to pay rent, and while we'll always need mundane materials, they'd be taking up room that could be used for magical girls. Remember, this is a hotel, not an apartment complex. Families need, or at least should have, more then one room to themselves.Icipall's quotes remind me of something - it's actually kind of nice to see talk of moving magical girls' friends and family (in Mistletoe's case, her girlfriend it sounds like) in. Because of their use as leverage against the girl, and by proxy us, it's something of a security risk to have such people not be secured themselves. Even aside from the security standpoint, people's mental health is influenced by that of those around them - if someone is close with a magical girl and they're suffering, the magical girl is probably also not doing too well. Our job is to support the local magical girls, and keeping them in good spirits is part of that. I can't imagine most of our veteran magical girls have that many ties anymore given their conditions, but it's still a possibility that needs to be considered.
We're basically converting trinkets into open rooms heh. We've got one of the girls cleaning out rooms as payment for the trinket. No one else can make gear, so unless there's a sudden influx of girls or Goodyear finds us another craftsman we should be making gear for another turn or two.
But honestly, this quest is like life. Who knows what's going to happen next turn? We might suddenly need lots of rooms, or a workshop upgrade because there's a piece of gear we absolutely must have to still be unexploded next week, or we need to hire a priest because this place turns out to be super fucking haunted and angry ghosts want our flesh and spirits parted.
Too bad that clearing a room isn't enough to make it livable. We're basically converting trinkets into open rooms heh.
Literally any manual labor can clear rooms, after all.
About that,we already gotten hints from the QM that Mistletoe's particular magical skill would benefit from a trinket bringing it to the fullest.
Along with what LunarDreams said, trinkets are currently the only defensive option we have for the magical girls since we can't make costumes yet. Trompdoy needs a trinket to support her illusions, hopefully with some bonuses to help her defense so that she stops getting hurt so often. I'd rather make the trinket with 3 bombs to boost the magical girls immediately against the witch and alchemist and then research the sword next turn.
Isn't that basically all it takes at this level? We do need to expand the facilities for food and hygiene later, but they're hobogucas, their standards aren't very high for immediate places to crash.
True, but this isn't good timing for it. Right now, most of the girls don't have any good gear(Mistletoe especially because of how new she is) Honestly,I feel like we won't be able to actually start improving the building until we do enough workshop upgrades(and make sure the magical girls have a full set of gear) to make sure that whatever we make lasts longer so that we won't constantly have to put out fires.[X] No, you want to work on your building instead
We do want to improve the building because of how many residents we have now, no?
No, otherwise every room marked by 'c' at the sheet would be open for a tenant. Only rooms that are marked by 'v' and don't have someone already living there are open for living.Isn't that basically all it takes at this level? @7734
If we research the sword, does that count as a crafting roll for the bombs since it results in creation of a wand? And Mistletoe is not on the Base sheet as tenant.
Btw we really should look into a resident psychologist when we can.
or we need to hire a priest because this place turns out to be super fucking haunted and angry ghosts want our flesh and spirits parted.

*Sigh* I spoke too soon.
Yeah, thus the when we can part.Yeah, uh, no. Best you'll get is an out of work bartender, and you're not even old enough to make a fake ID work. Mental health is important, but you're having trouble meeting base needs right now.
My issue is that it's not clear whether just researching the cursed sword is enough to produce the Level 3 wand, or if we'd have to spend another action to make the wand. If we have to spend two actions, then I'd like to make the trinket first with 3 bombs to boost the magical girls' abilities and defenses right away. If it only takes one action to get a Level 3 wand, then I'm fine with either option winning. And Calypso has asked us for a wand since some good weeks ago, and everyone should have a wand and a costume, if we could. But we can't make costumes right now, and being able to make even T2 wands would make things much better.

, if we do research the wand this turn, will Homer make a scroll?
That depends on several factors. Homer is in many ways a general purpose safety net (since he's only slightly less versetile than you) and determining his Scroll production is very far along the back burner.
