Well, if we Talk no Jutsu'd Kakashi when he was an ANBU, maybe we can do that to another ANBU agent? Sure, Talk no Jutsu works best on traumatized people, but we can never know right?

I generally don't much like Itachi, but he did bring more food for us.

seems to me like canonical ROOT behavior, specifically ROOT agent that wants to learn how to "fit in" in "normal" ANBU. As such we can expect more trauma per pound than almost anywhere else in the world.

Or something. It's very curious that he seems to be here to learn from us. Seems like it'd be either a Orochimaru-brand Sociopath (who just doesn't GET social and ethical dynamics very well, so decides to start studying it), or someone who lived in complete isolation from such things (ROOT DID just get freed from Danzo's control).

Thought of another possibility. That might be Kabuto.
