I personally like this option since I feel we should end up not where we want to be, but where Atlas would have sent us. As a medical AI, he'd probably have wanted to go to the Hospital to help people.
Not gonna be surprised if Neji turns out to be a completely different person in this quest even if you don't factor in the fact he know has an older brother.

This is probably my paranoia talking but I sincerely hope that we don't get suspicious looks when we go scientist route cause we share something in common with Orochimaru. Parents died whilst we are young and we then throw ourselves into the world of medicine.

Kakashi should be able to tell him, that we DIDN'T. We did not slow down Obito at all. Besides, you know, talking to him, and serving as a meat-bag for him to throw kunai at. Kakashi did all the fighting, and even then their exchange sounded more liek a one-stroke battle on both sides.

I mean Shiro already had a tragic back story before the reincarnation, at this point it's just ticking off the bingo card of shonen hero back story. Without context he was a medic who got killed in an attack who was then put into a new body and told to fight and protect people which he failed at enough to the point where he's got a complex.

Why do people want to be questioned before we have time to ask Atlas what actually happened? We can't answer most of his questions. That pretty much guarantees that Minato finds us suspicious.
And if it isn't obvious, appearing suspicious right after everyone is paranoid because an enemy infiltrated the village is bad.
