What would you do with it that would be considered awful? Some people can handle awful. I know there are people who would appreciate a story that isn't focused on the Strawhats, and would prefer an almost original flavour of text that has new stuff built around Oda's world.

It really is a bit hard to find fan material that isn't of a similar flavour to "This Bites" (a SI finds the Straw Hats, joins up, the same adventure plays out, with minor differences). Sometimes it's great to see the One Piece world explored more (I don't know the One Piece fandom as well as I'd like, the only fanfic I'm familiar with that had new material not strawhat focused is a Time Looping Ace story that gives us the Whitebeard pirates in an original way, named Trapped in Eternity).

The fans are that... passionate? Or is it your respect for Oda-sensei and the material itself that keeps you?

I suppose that the Nasuverse fans are (were?) just as bad, though I haven't had trouble so far in my quest, despite my hack of a self's lack of quality and questionable canon complicity.
 
I mean, what do we get in gender if we choose machine? How does the machine thing works?! That's why I don't like the leading plan, and would just make things really weird for a machine to be turned into a human.

I choose Gender by roll. A d2 if your wondering.

As for how the machine works: There is a directive from last life that will be a detriment to you and a boon to you: Like having a directive that makes you a pacifist, but your also a genius at Psychology and physiology.

Things like that.

Though maybe not a pacifist. this is the naturo world that we are living in after all.

And since you also have a human body... you'll also be subject to human frailty... and birth defects if you roll that low.
