[] [Religion] Go extra lengths to properly organise the Arthrynite religion into something more. (-2 Stability, -2 Diplo, -1 Martial, -3 Mystic, Chance of a Minor Crisis, Chance of a Major Crisis, Additional Doctrines)
What exactly does 'additional doctrines' mean?
[] [Doctrine] Militant. The world is a harsh and cruel place and it is up to goddesses and their servants to protect their followers.
Hm. Seems like an abrupt reversal of our previous way of doing things, but the major successful war should have shaken that belief up.
[] [Leadership] No formal leadership with all members of the priesthood being equal in power to each other.
So, basically no change. An extremely decentralized way of doing things for our very centralized civilization. Can't see how that would work out.
[] [Leadership] Centralised leadership that has a hierarchy with a head of religion in Greenbay.
[] [Leadership] Centralised leadership that has a hierarchy with a council in Greenbay at the top.
So, we either get ourselves a Pope or a Curia. Aiming for the latter so we don't have clashed over authority with the Cadlon later on, although that's probably inevitable.
[] [Leadership] Decentralised localised leadership with each region having its own hierarchy that is equal to the hierarchies over regions.
Alternatively, we could have an Orthodox way of doing things. Although the Pentarchy didn't work out so well.

Changing our religion is a pretty major thing, especially since it's a near central aspect of civilization. So, we have to do it properly. We're in decent shape to do it.

[X] [Doctrine] Equality. Treating everyone fairly is one of Arthryn's oldest teachings and Arthrynites should treat others as equals.
[X] [Doctrine] Community. Valuing your community is one of Arthryn's oldest teachings and Arthrynites should strive to help their community.

The oldest doctrines are the most important, and should be repeated in order to protect them against decay and foreign influence.

[x] [Leadership] Centralised leadership that has a hierarchy with a council in Greenbay at the top.

[X] [Policy] Balanced = Does whatever seems reasonable.

If we're going to be a large expansive empire, then we need to have some sort of centralized head of religion to codify everything. Otherwise, everything would inevitably splinter into multiple different sects.

I'd propose to go for council over single head. If we go for a single head, then it's almost inevitable that the royal family will end up controlling the position all the time, as they're literally divinely blessed. With a council at least, there's chance of some normal people.

Let's go for the extra mile, tank the hits, and take the risks.

[X] [Doctrine] Equality. Treating everyone fairly is one of Arthryn's oldest teachings and Arthrynites should treat others as equals.
[X] [Leadership] Decentralised localised leadership with each region having its own hierarchy that is equal to the hierarchies over regions.

Straightforward enough. We need to ensure that this, above all else, is enshrined to the very first. In addition, keeping what would essentially be bishoprics separate from one another would be good to ensure that there are synergy.

[X] [Policy] Diplomacy = Focuses on engaging in diplomacy.

We have a Diplo Hero. So let's do Diplo stuffs. With Evalon at the helm and supporting of these Diplo action, we would be able to secure our status as the hegemony in the area. Plus as noted, this paves the way for diplomatic annexation for all the surrounding Lowlands and hopefully ensure that we'll be able to not make our polity look like a noodle.

[X] [Doctrine] Proselytising. Spreading the wisdom and prosperity of the goddesses should be the primary purpose of the Arthrynites.
[X] [Doctrine] Cosmopolitan. Tolerance and acceptance are the key and Arthrynites should be open to others to gain strength from their different ways.
[X] [Leadership] Centralised leadership that has a hierarchy with a council in Greenbay at the top.
[X] [Policy] Expansion = Focuses on settling new lands.

Fair enough. Still, how does that effect our diplomacy? Like with the Foresters? Are we actively crusading against slavery and are trying to enforce abolition outside our lands too?

No, at least not yet. The Arthwyd don't actively go around trying to stamp out slavery outside their borders, but they do consider engaging in slavery being an acceptable reason to attack someone.

What exactly does 'additional doctrines' mean?

You get more than a single doctrine.

Instead of seeking an alliance with the Arthwyd, the Forester queendoms had turned to each other for support. Even when they had been reassured about the Arthwyd and their intentions, the Foresters still focused on it each for future alliances and there were rumours of there being a future Urthdysh Federation.
Wait, so translated to the Arthryn language, this would be the "Evil People Federation"?

[X] [Policy] Infrastructure = Focuses on building infrastructure.
[X] [Policy] Megaproject = Focuses on building megaprojects.
[X] [Policy] Diplomacy = Focuses on engaging in diplomacy.
Extremely upset with people voting for a diplo hero and making Diplomacy so effective now, when we could have focused infrastructure instead.

We need infrastructure and have multiple megaprojects to do. Beyond that, we have a new colony that we should look into getting, because Gyrphons!

Not nearly as good of a thing as I'd hoped for, but we can deal with most crises, and having both equality and community would be very nice.

[X] [Doctrine] Cosmopolitan. Tolerance and acceptance are the key and Arthrynites should be open to others to gain strength from their different ways.
added cosmopolitan to ensure votes other than militant are available dependent on additional doctrine results. Because I definitely want cosmo being added over militant. Not a fan of militant religious practices as a general rule. They tend to end up going poorly for everyone involved.

These are what our religion has always been about, codifying that should go a long way to mitigating the worst of potential crises, and ensuring that our people work well together. Though if we get 2 more doctrines out of the major religious reform, cosmopolitan would also work well for us, Arthryn has always supported outsiders bringing their strengths to the people.

[X] [Leadership] Decentralised localised leadership with each region having its own hierarchy that is equal to the hierarchies over regions.

Don't really want to have a single head of the religion, I'd prefer to have a council... but if we DO have a head of religion, that head is likely to be a priestess of Arthryn, instead of a council that might include each of the goddesses, and I don't want the others to be empowered to that degree compared to Arthryn. I kinda want decentralized leadership, as it helps to ensure that the people can see their priests/priestesses looking out for them, especially with how large our polity is, but I worry about splitting up the people that way. I think if community is looking like it'll win centralized would work for me. If decentralized looks like it'll win I'll go for equality.

Pretty much.

They probably called us the "Demonic Kingdom" or something.
I mean, we're called the demonic nation, so ...

Demon Kingdom of the Great North.

How many. Kind off important to know, as people should then vote for more than 1 option.

How many depends on what options are picked with factors such as how many votes the other options got and how compatible they are with the other options.

Law may or may not cause stability loss and people want to reform our religion while we are at it?
We currently have overmax stability and can of course get more through veneration, and said stability loss is through upending the fabric of our society instead of mass starvation or something, so I'm totally cool with it.

Yes. We can almost certainly tank the hit, and with an admin hero in charge she's almost certain to do a venerate or two if it looks like our stability will drop too low. Also, getting them both done now means its done, and I'm kinda wondering if this religious reform will mean it's got a similar stat block that economy or leadership does. Which has some interesting potential, especially with the costs to perm stats that it has.

I wouldn't count on our admin lasting until midturn.

Our Stability is at 4, so it can take a hit.

I would like for both of the oldest teachings to get in.

So far as I'm aware, she started getting old age checks this turn. So seems likely to me she'll last at least to the start of the next turn. I admit, I could be wrong about that, but even if I am, that just means WE have to vote for venerate if our stability costs get too high.

No! I couldn't have possibly understood that!

I meant 'define additional.' Two? Three? Or is it left intentionally ambiguous?
answered a little above.

I've learnt not to assume that things I think are obvious are also obvious to all members of my voterbase.

Intentionally ambiguous as how many depends on which options are voted for with the main factors being how many votes the option got and compatibility with each other.
