Well regardless it has got to be this. We just gained another hero so we don't need that. We already have a megaproject to do. And while the other stuff would be nice but Magic, active magic, will be a massive boon to any effort we under take.

We also now have a massive reason to make sure this Golden Age last for as long as we can possibly make it and I will be against any and all actions that may end it.

I imagine magic to have two main effects:
-Passive, boosting certain rolls, especially if they involve priests/mystic heroes.
-Active, allowing to spend mysticism on actions, to boost them (send the wrath of our people and our goddess upon those nonbelievers!) or enable them (miracles?).
Speaking of miracles, a tech/mystic hero is a great combination with magic, as she'll probably delve into it's mechanics and uses.
Who knows, we could be tempted with an offer of starting a magic school?
 
We definitely need to venerate next turn if we intend to keep the Golden Age going, assuming we still get temp mystic/culture from it.
 
I'm honestly fairly tempted by

Would bringing mystic and culture to 0 end the golden age, or would that only happen if it goes below that? Because would rather wait a turn for magic than lose the golden age.
 
Unfortunately, magic may well just end it. It uses both mystic and culture, consume all our excess resources.
But it is also something that should by all rights enhance culture and especially mystic in excess of what we are spending. Right now we only see the costs because we haven't taken such an action before and as such don't know the results.

Stat wise it will probably give us more than we are spending. Gotta spend money to make money.
 
Dang I was hoping it'd been mentioned somewhere and I'd missed it. Argh, we can't afford to lose the golden age!

I don't think it'll give us anything at all. I'm pretty sure these options are flat costs to get something fancy.
