I'd honestly be cool with Monk, Rogue or Druid being classes we go for. Or a production class for 10 levels or so. Druid might stack with Beast Taming pretty well. Rogue would spec with our current agility build pretty well, might even give us skills to disengage combat and sneak attack critical damage or something. Monk is pretty self explanatory.

A production class could be fun but it'd be more a Meta reason. Unless we get a solid group of friends that'll last to the new world with us and one is a designated production class user it might be nice to have some skill in blacksmithing or something.

So, plenty to talk about here. I'll do my takes one issue at a time.

New class:
I like both Monk and Barbarian, for reasons explained in my previous posts. We should take note however, that we can essentially use all 30 ability points on abilities from our first tree if we want. That said, unlocking new things might be the best in light of future respecs. And we really need something to use our MP on.

New stats:
HP is still better than Phy Def, if we aren't switching to a tank build, which doesn't seem to be the case. Also, I don't think we need more Agi right now. Mag Def actually makes some sense now that I noticed that it affects status resistance, but I'm still hoping to cover that with abilities instead . We already have mental statuses covered like that, after all.

New abilities:
The new abilities all open uncharted directions for Karen (except for 'Burly Brawler', which is just bad). Most of them seem like we would need to specialize in that field if we take them (as we should either commit to perform a role like scouting well, or not waste points there at all). I'm down with taking the scouting and taming abilities to keep them as respec options though. I'm guessing that the monk or barbarian classes will finally lock us out of heavy armor, so avoiding that one.

Old abilities:
'Body over Mind' is still great. 'The Way of the Asura's Defensive Form' is also really good (+4 Dodge and Damage Resistance), and it will synergize with the grandmaster bonus.

I'm almost copying Veekie's and Ulrad's plans, just changing some details. I think we can iterate to a good solution here.

To further this Druid would fit a possible Xanxia/Wuxia character well too. We're basically a cultivator already because of our class build here. If we go Monk next im hoping some of the advanced classes will build off of our previous class and be more specialised instead of mostly 'generic'.

Druid would fit the cultivator route by making us one with nature. If we go the cultivator route we could draw energy from nature and do the typical stuff. Plus it might give us Shapeshifting at higher levels (beast shape) and an enhancement to our elemental abilities.

Canon Monk class leads to classes like Ki cultivator and so on.

Also Xianxia cultivating is mostly meditating forever and getting an epiphany before you go and fight the big baddy. Course there is endless training or just stuffing your face with hundreds of natural treasures and pills.

I thought about that route as well, but with more of a Shaman feel. Tattoos and totems and spirits giving us boosts.

Monk, Druid and Shaman could all lead us to Support (Self) kinds of boosts to our character, I guess.

I mostly want Monk because it continues the punchy thing we got going while also branching out into an alternative for Magic that doesn't use MP to give us some healing, damage absorption and stuff to further make us punch gud. Btw, will we get excess XP from this quest and fight into the new class or did we just have bad luck to only level up 4 times from this because we were already close to finishing the tree?

If Monk does lead to cultivator somehow there might be a split between Ki cultivator or Body Cultivator. If its anything like Desolate Era then a Body Cultivator can regen from a drop of blood. Plus they're tanky as hell.

Actually, if there is a class split like that, Cultivator as the advanced class and then Ki or Body for the final advancement for it which way would people be leaning?

We know from Sebas there are "Inner Ki Master" and "Outer Ki Master" jobs which translate to stuff that acts on yourself (buffs and heals and such) and stuff that acts on your surroundings (attacks and other effects)
And if possible I'd like to make Karen into the Apex predator described in her skills, an absolute monster in melee 1v1 that bows to nobody in that area so I guess Body for me.

I'd be leaning towards Inner Ki Master for that particular split then. That's the buff path I think? We're already a combat monster, buffing our healing and defence might be good.

Maybe Outer Ki Master might debuff enemies, might somehow make our dodge build more viable. Make an enemy roll with disadvantage or negate the first crit attack or something.

Depending on how they work out both might be nice. Granted this is me guessing about what these classes would do from what you said.

Body for me as well, your description is partly what I'm going for with the barbarian vote. Some Rage abilities to fill the same slot that Inner Ki Master does.

I want Barbarian to concentrate in punching stuff without using magic

Also "Body Over Mind" would have a great synergy with a Berseker class because all it's bonuses (resistance to debuffs, intimidation, better "stats") are literally the stuff the Bersekers were made/trained for.

Hmm, while I understand that we eventually get our stats up it's still kinda crazy that we can either have 25 more hitpoints or 2 extra damage (absorption), which is less than we get to both from Body Over Mind, making it hard for me to rationalize doing it and not maxing out health first. For example if we hadn't invested into health last time but in Defense, we'd be dead right now because that crit would have killed us. Instead we survived to get healed and win.

I highly doubt the QM would make Defense stats so pointless, and don't forget the defensive stats also help prevent Status Effects.

Like I said, based on the mechanics there is 0 reason to prioritize defense over Health until maxed our in the way things currently work, some class abilities can use full stats as modifiers but we haven't seen it yet and I'd rather work with what we know than something that MIGHT be somewhat useful but otherwise vastly inferior.

Even if you don't care for damage negation you cannot ignore this. Mind Over Body can only cover so much.

So we get +1 to resisting something, maybe, whoopie. Again, buy some equipment. Armor and rings are far better at absorbing damage and resisting stuff because that is what they are meant to do and we're still running around with only the gacha stuff. Get your armor enchanted with Debuff Resistance, get a ring of Magic Defense, anything.

I don't know. It's your choice how you spend your ability points, not mine. I just said that it is possible to spend ability points from the new class tree into abilities you got from the previous class tree.

You never actually improved any of those defensive abilities. How would you know if they didn't scale like TWA? Another thing as to why you didn't get many powerful defensive abilities; that's because of a pivotal important vote really early on where you choose your second ability.
I'm only giving you abilities that both fit your class and the general path you're heading. The defense wasn't on that path.

EDIT: Another little thing I'll comment on. While trying to unlock all abilities which you will then respec when you'll reach your 100th level could be great in the long-term but its almost definitely not ideal in the short-term. At level 100th, you'll have the stats and equipment expected of a 100 level player but your abilities? All of them aren't beyond Rank 1 and that's extremely dangerous where you'll have difficulties fighting players and NPCs 5 or even 10 levels lower than you or perhaps more, let alone another 100 level player.
