So our best evidence of the nurse's involvement is her smirking at us? I don't think this would stand up in court, magical or otherwise.

It's not quite just that.

"Alright, I'm back with another juicebox!" A nurse cheerfully announces, bustling in with about five of them in her arms. Or at least you think it's a her; they're a tad androgynous. Daisuke restrains himself from giving the offending drinks a scathing glare as the nurse dumps them on his lap, before fussing over the bandage on his arm. "Don't worry, dear, it's all fine now; you've done a great job!" Glancing over, she notices she isn't the only one present, and puts her hands on her hips. "Visiting hours are up, you three! You should get out of here now." After a moment more of pestering the patient, she holds the door open, waving your companions through. "Come on now, I can't let you stay any longer. There will be plenty of time to talk later!"

Most individuals cannot see us as a ghost - period. So her being able to puts her on a short list. Secondly, she was acting as a nurse that herded us out while we were investigating the victim.

This wouldn't be suspicious if she was an actual nurse - but we know that this is faked.

And so it is that you turn and follow her down the hall, in the opposite direction Midori and Pallavi are headed. At first nothing seems odd, but after passing a few doors, she glances back over her shoulder, and picks up her pace. You glance back as well, but it's just the usual assortment of doctors and a few other visitors also making their way back to the front elevators. You speed up in turn, and she shifts to all-but-jogging through the hall, dodging around a thicket of people to slow y ou down. You're relentless, though, and do your best to regain lost ground as she turns the corner, suspicion turning into outright anger.

Because instead of confronting us she started fleeing us when we followed her. Someone pretending to be medical personnel in a hospital is suspicious of itself, but even more so when their actions seemed to be focused on stopping a questioning.

[X] Tell her too (Maybe she can help you in a way Nel can't right now)

Who knows, maybe she didn't notice how the nurse urged all three of us to leave because she heard her say something different.

Why do you all want to tell her? The way the vote is worded implies we're going to go off and investigate on our own if we do, which is likely to result in some sort of trouble. Nel seems trustworthy enough and is already looking into it.

Because she asks a straight yes or no question- did we see anything- and I don't want to lie to her face. If she hadn't asked I'd be fine with not mentioning it unless Nel fails to show a thorough investigation (ie if they just asks people if they were at the hospital it doesn't count). But she did, and there's a difference between being mysterious and being a liar.

Sounds similar to how most everyone else felt. In that case:

@SpoopyGhost, is writing in "[ ] Maybe (Don't go into detail but mention you might have. Nel told you to let her look into it first to avoid jumping to conclusions though.)" acceptable? Or is that too close an attempt to have our cake and eat it too?

I feel we may invite more trouble if we tell her. I mean, it feels like she will try to encurage us to look into it more, either that or she will try to figure things out by herself, which is usually a bad idea. Better lie and say we didn't see anything and let things cool down a bit before we make any kind of decision. We have no real info or lead to chase either way if we try I feel.

Anyways, another thing that bothers me is how Midori doesn't like Varma. There are people that do wear their heart on their sleeves as some say, but it is too early to judge, since we haven't really interacted with her at all. Also being nice and all doesn't mean that one is naive. She may be aware that not everything is sugar and rainbows but still acts nice becuase she wants to be nice and wants to make others cheer up? Who knows. She may also just be putting up an act for some reason we don't know about.

This is all just speculations though, in the end, we don't really have any info to work with, and it is too early to jump to conclusions.

And we can hopefully keep her sensible and not jumping to conclusions.

Yeah, on that logic I'm going to go ahead and vote for

And knowing that it might not be Abel making the portal if you don't see them could save us a lot of trouble.
Abel? Huh?

That's a good point. Midori evidently noticed the nurse was a bit odd, but not enough to be concerned by it. Was she just not paying proper attention, or is there some magical interference maybe?

Yeah. I feel like this reflects more on Midori than anything at the moment; I want to talk to Pallavi face-to-face.

[X] Tell her too (Maybe she can help you in a way Nel can't right now)

I don't think we should encourage more covert ops for now but we've had an honesty policy with midori up to this point, no need to break it now.

You could vote for it if you so wish, as long as you've considered how things may play out as a result.

[X] Don't tell her (Telling Nel is enough; no need to spread it around until you know more)
If nothing else, given that Midori's reaction to Orange was mistrust due to (she's too nice!) I'm not trusting her to jump to conclusions. Plus I thought Nel was going to bring it up PROPERLY in the next meeting, and thus if we spill to Midori it's giving her early dibs on the info that's probably not needed.

It would definitely stand up to scrutiny in a magical girl court! Smirking means things are going according to keikaku and only bad guys use keikaku! justice kaname would definitely accept this especially if we said it with enough conviction! (*•̀ᴗ•́*)و ̑̑

In other news
[X] Tell her too (Maybe she can help you in a way Nel can't right now)
It seems like we might be doing things on our own if we don't tell anyone else so let's tell the other person we actually trust. I mean, what's the worst that could happen? By the way Spooky, have you seen kamen rider ghost? The early episodes would be a great source of inspiration for ghost protag hijinks. Not that you're not doing a great job. really I just want a reason to tell people to watch kamen rider ghost.

PLUS, she ran away from us! Only bad guys run away from the magical girls! Because that's a bad thing to do!

I'm afraid not, but I may have to change that, given the chance.

2K - When A Plan Comes Together
You already told Nel, didn't you? But that didn't quite turn out like you'd hoped… And besides, so far you've been fairly honest with Midori, (outside of Death-related matters) haven't you? You bite your lip a bit, but ultimately give in. "Yeah. That nurse said for the 'three' of us to leave, remember?"

Midori frowned. "You're right, she did. I guess I just assumed she'd misspoken, but now that you mention it, that was really weird."

"Between that and being kind of strange in general, I went and followed them." You explain. "They saw me, and ran."

She blinks in confusion, before realization dawns, catching on to what's wrong with your statement. "She could see you?"

"Evidently. I chased them down into the basement; they became a shadow person and left through a Door." Midori thankfully catches on to your meaning much easier than Nel did, eyes going wide. "I already told Nelchael-san, but they weren't much help."

"Maybe they're working together," Midori suggests, glancing suspiciously down at her ring, but you shake your head.

"I don't think so. Nelchael-san doesn't seem like that kind of person."

"If you're sure," Midori acquiesces. Leaning back in her seat, she strokes her chin thoughtfully. "But this is still pretty serious. Did you hear the discussion after we got back?"

You nod in confirmation. "Most of it, yes. Why?"

"Well, if the nurse is behind this, she- err, they might be using the hospital to find their victims. Nelchael-san said all three were in really good health, right? If they're looking for people like that specifically, where else would they find the records to figure out who to go after?"

It's your turn to experience dawning realization. "Ooohhh…"

Midori nods, a cocky grin appearing. "So they have to have been around a lot recently. Even if they tried to Door in after-hours to look at the files, it would have been caught by security. More likely, they're posing as a nurse there regularly, so someone would have to have seen her. If I can find a way to get in and ask around, we might be able to learn more about them that way."

"The problem being the getting in part, if you aren't there to visit someone." You point out.

"Yeah, that could be difficult. Still, though, I think I can figure something out, in a couple of days." Both of you trade excited grins, and you can't help but feel a little bit more optimistic. It's not a sure thing any more than Nel's plan, but it feels a little more promising, somehow.

"It may not be a bad idea to tell Varma-san, too," you suggest, and she nods thoughtfully. "At least about the plan, anyway."

You both stare at each other for several moments more, before you realize the conversation's concluded; you've run out of things to talk about. Glancing down at your lap for a moment, you play with the fold in your dress again. Midori's eager gaze softens to a quieter smile, and she takes on a shyer posture. "Well, I guess that's it for now. What are you planning to do next? I suppose I should let you go…"

You open your mouth to respond, before realizing you hadn't thought that far ahead.

Where Are You Going?

This seems prudent to do.

This could help yeah.

It would be I will admit.

I still want to look up our school and see if it has a history of disappearances or murders as we had a ghost to deal with there. Either it was a killing ground at some point (or still is) or just a random location - which would imply that it was someone that had (or does) reason to be on the grounds for it to be random.
