@ilbgar123 how many systems do we have? need to calculate number of spaceship yards we can make

382.

I've been watching this for the past year or so, but I haven't really had any ideas or plans... until now.
On that note, what are the masses and deltaVs of the heaviest and fastest dreadnoughts we can make?

Edit: Even if this idea proves viable, we may not want to use it to avoid escalating things to a "War of the Planet Crackers" unless absolutely necessary.

Well, I've not set a set mass for the ships, but Escorts default to 1 km, Cruisers default to 3 km, Dreadnoughts to 5 km, and Battleships are where it starts being less a class than a general type, as they vary between 8 and 10 km. It's worth noting that they'll be at least half empty space, even the most 'crowded' designs, due to the crew having to, you know, move around inside.

Isn't that "to construct enough shipyards to fill our current berth cap every single turn"? I'm quite sure if our berth usage is being reduced to zero every turn, we'll be doing something very wrong.
no we have 21 berths/shipyard currently for each ship type for a total of 63 shipyard/berths, we can support 15 berths/shipyard per system.
so we can have a total of 5730 shipyards/berths in bastion space

edit: unless I am confusing the term usage?

I hope something happens during our Webway Patrols. It'd be too quaint for us to just be able to make contact with our Brothers without major incident.

Oh, I know how to fix all our problems! We just strap the largest engines we can find to about 30 frigates (one for each of the almost Krork's planets) and then we cover them in as many concealing runes as possible alongside some amplification and energy runes attached to the engines and drop them off outside the outer edge of the solar system of each of the almost Krork's systems then we have them continuously accelerate until they hit the planet near, at or even in excess of light speed. Tada! You've created your very own homemade exterminatus weapon or better yet known as a RKV (relativistic kill vehicle) to wider society.

So NOW you support my fire ship plans? -_-

Cogsmasher "Thanks for the free ships :D"

or we do it the classic way, cargo ships filled with sand accelerated to near light speed and then sand is exploded forward by shaped charges which means you have a cloud of near light speed sand that would impact a planet creating a firestorm that scours the surface of a planet clean.

is doable even by today's tech and is a proven method of eradicating infrastructure and personnel

...How is he going to stop a stealthed ship traveling at light speed? He should have literally no warning it's even coming since no physical sensor can pick it up and warn him in time due to it traveling at light speed and no warp sensors can pick it up because it shouldn't even have a warp presence.

Waaghlock "Why didn't I think of that?! Dat's zoggin great I'll call it the "Sands of Gork""

Orks can't hide it from the warp as we can so we'd be able to detect the ship and destroy it.
"The sheer might of an entire empire of Orks wishing not to die without a fight causes the ships travelling at light speed to alter their course by a fraction of a fraction of a degree, hitting the nearby planet systems that were capable of evacuating away from the Orkoid threat, causing the nearby sectors to retaliate in a frenzy against the Orks granting them the temporary relief of battle. The Orks themselves do not question the blessings of Gork and Mork for providing them fights but they are ever grateful."

...If the Chaos gods can't break through the barrier between reality and the warp williy nilly no way can Gork and Mork do so not just once but thirty times and you know that.

This is why you don't mix up Ultramarines and Orks, Administratum Drone 54234-8008.

Wouldn't be much different from a small gust of solar wind causing a chain reaction between the ships illuminating a corner of Cogsmasher's skies like their Gods are smiling upon them.

So what you're telling me is that at any point in time warp gods can just break through the barriers of reality even in their weakened state not just once but 30 times at their leisure in freaking dead space where no sentient life has ever lived or experienced emotions in so as to facilitate the creation of actual warp energy in the area just so that they can nock literal light speed projectiles off course that they shouldn't have any way of knowing about I might add.

...Why the fuck haven't they just broken the barriers between reality and the warp then on Terra and every single planet surrounding it so as to facilitate their corruption then? Because if you're going to open this can of worms for dead space they have to be able to do this every where at bloody will.
