Quick note incase it wasn't clear: the primordial Qi issue only matters for when the MC is training the LUB art. This is because the Qi is needed to properly work the technique and make the improvements to the body. While he's in a fight or training other techniques, the MC can use regular old Qi like everyone else.
I don't think that will matter much. Using items to increase cultivation is just normal. Plus, I think Kolar would have told us if there were side effects.
As long as it follows the rule of 'must be pure qi', there's no side effects. Later on, there will be the whole 'don't eat an energy field larger than your head' thing but right now, we're working on a small enough scale that you'd need like dozens of the crystals to OD on Qi.
From what I understand, the Formation repels impure elemental Qi present in the environment away from us while the Qi Crystals are gonna be our source of Qi. So even if in the short term just getting Crystals may give us more benefits, it still seems smart to get the Formation in order to make sure that our Cultivation Base is formed of only Pimordial Qi and to make cultivating Universal Body easier for Zhang Tian.
Also the crystals are 1 time use each whereas the formation will last for the entire month. Using both doesn't hurt anything amd the effects stack, so the xp from the crystals gets that 5% boost from the formation.
Generally speaking:
The punching technique makes most weapons pointless, when sufficiently developed.
The body technique makes most armor pointless, when sufficiently developed.
So maybe ask for utility items?
Don't forget that the technique is enegry intensive. At best, you might get to use it twice in a fight depending on whether the enemy gives you the time to charge up. Also one of those times is assuming you charge up before the fight starts. A weaker technique with less charge time wont hurt you guys, and even if you dont train it past the basics, it'll still deal more damage than a normal hit.
That said, the palm art at full mastery is devestating to anything around your level. One hit may be all you need.
Also armor effects can stack. Using armor will apply a small shield value that needs to be broken through before your body's defense is even added to the equation. Defensive techniques can stack on that too, using your durability as a base to make you even tougher. None of these cost you much atm so may as well consider them.
Again, you're not limited to just a single item from the supply vote.
I really think prayer beads would make a good utility item. Besides being on theme it also shores up a gap in our defenses. Assuming we build up a tough body we will be most vulnerable to exotic spirit drain and poison style attacks.
Hey
Maragas have you thought about adding Sigil's supply list to your plan? It wouldn't have any downsides.
No need to worry about any supply votes. I'm just going to cobble them all together and give out the items. Any item in a supply vote will get counted no matter which plan wins.
Kind of odd that we're using chi when before we were describing peoples' height in feet.
Yeah, I need to go back and fix that. I want to use the chi measurement and stuff in this but sometimes it slips the mind while writing. Too used to using western measurements.
