From Stone to the Stars

Numbers are an important factor in disaster mitigation and recovery, though.

[x] Temporarily move in, neighbors!

I don't want to settle, but it's good to know there is someone around to rely on. They can give us grown food and goods, we can give them protection, meat, and whatever we can craft from the beasts, it's all to the mutual benefit until we inevitably move again.

[X] Set up a more permanent camp, friends!

Conquest by Friendship! We shall assimilate them into our nation and make theirs one with our own!

That said,

@Redium Was there a mistake with the vote count or what's going on with what people are saying about Detection/Wolves being the vote that should have won?

I'm content with this outcome, it's already written so for an honest mistake no problem in letting it stay up.

If it is a mistake, it still needs to have attention drawn to it, because it's kind of a major mistaken of the kind that I think everyone would prefer be avoided in the future.

[X] Set up a more permanent camp, friends!

This could be the start of Nomad Tribe as regional mercenaries.

I thought focus on detection won the hero vote?

Lets just straight up ask...
@Redium did you make a mistake in reading the winning vote? the Wolfpack one should have won.

@Redium Was there a mistake with the vote count or what's going on with what people are saying about Detection/Wolves being the vote that should have won?

That was a mistake. I think what happened was that I didn't set the boundaries of the tally properly and it gave me a weird result. I will fix in later today when I get home.

you rolled an innovation either way
While an earlier comment noted this, would you mind clarifying: Do heroes always roll an innovation separate of the actions taking place?

Also, would you do us the favor of taking your comments about heroes taking over actions dependent on civ type, etc. and putting them in the "forward" (and changing that to "foreword")?

The section will be changed; you rolled an innovation either way. I think the only difference is that your food surplus will go up slightly since doubling down on wolves is more effective than dead-fall traps.
Hmmm, thats good :p, it was a bit confusing.

Anyways on a super positive note, i have the most replies in the thread so far!!!
Woot!

I want to go back to crystal lake soon but want to know these guys first a bit.

I'm assuming the more permanent camp is another Way Station. It's good to have one set up near allies, and folks we can trade with.

Just good sense.

Heroes always roll for innovations independent of any actions. Alvar's innovation roll this turn, however, was terrible. It was the innovation roll for the extra action this turn that gave you dead-fall traps. I just transferred that innovation over to Expand Wolfpacks since it should have gone there.

Since you're in 'Primordial Time' (AKA: start of the game) you have greatly elevated action-related innovation rolls. This will taper off over time as your civilization starts to become more defined and complex. (I'll add this as a Status effect when I have time).

Also, would you do us the favor of taking your comments about heroes taking over actions dependent on civ type, etc. and putting them in the "forward" (and changing that to "foreword")?

Redium:

Yes, I will make those changes.

I think I'll put in an entire sections for 'discovered' mechanics.

Thought: If our tribe mixes with their tribe, and our hero winds up marrying their hero, will the resulting offspring be superheroes? :V

It would give you a bigger boost to getting a next gen hero, but that Hero would likely be entangled between the two tribes. The question is: would the Speaker feel that entangling the People with the River-Bend Tribe is beneficial for her?

Wait, temporary camp means we go back to Crystal Lake?

Temporary camp would be staying with the River-Bend Tribe temporarily. Permanent camp would mean setting up a way station.
