If we do Wolf pack with Hero defense, i think it would synergize with using the wolves in patrols of the area, further establishing our partnership with the animals

I don't think that we'd get them all because it's hard to 100% mop up an opposing group on foreign territory while we're distracted with our saved captives and all. Nevertheless, this would leave them further weakened and survivors will have quite the tell to tale about what awaits those who would mess with our tribe.

[x] [Hero] Focus on Detection (Expand Wolfpacks)

Our biggest problem here was that we caught by surprise in the sudden attack; when we got the drop on them, they were devastated. If our wolves can provide early warning of a hostile presence then that gives us time to assemble our forces against them and to devise a decent plan. Plus, wolves are substantially more mobile than fortifications.

All that said and done, I do think that the wrestling tradition is very cool and of course population would not hurt.

[x] [Action] Study Travel

Even if we plop down and become sedentary straight away this is still incredibly useful for ex. military campaigns that we might launch.

[x] [Go] East

I'd like to check out the world a bit more now that we've established a little nook in this place. Doesn't hurt to have intelligence on what's up with the surrounding geography and neighbors even if we do settle.

[x] Study Travel (Wonderful World bonus) - Invest time in learning how most effectively to travel. The world is harsh and strange, learning how to traverse it will save the People much in effort and food.

Your Study Travel action is invalid. Actions should be grabbed from the compacted list at the end of the update, rather than the more descriptive drop down menu. Example:

I don't want to leave an enemy at our back, and I don't want to use our hero bonus on something we can spend normal actions on. That leaves walls or martial skill, and this is more generally applicable.

Frankly, I personally don't understand establishing a holy site at a location we're almost certainly not going to build a settlement on, is located a good distance away from our one established settlement, and is really just the site of where we're cleaning up after a mess that shouldn't have happened in the first place.

Somehow, I can't help but wonder if using the site of our recent battle as a holy site is going to somehow come back and backfire on us at a future point in time.

Lets just...dissappear all the raiders. Build the holy site to remember this(and everything else if we want to avoid being goldfish) and then we should move a bit. See if theres more to find.

Holy Site's way too far in enemy territory and has no practical significance beyond being a marker of our first battle.

I feel the same way and have approval voted both [ ] [Action] Expand Wolfpacks and [ ] [Action] Study Travel, and would recommend that anyone who prefers not to be tied to this location do the same.

Ya'll do you though.

Would anyone who is voting to make the battle site a Holy Place be willing to provide any explanation for their reasoning why?

My reasoning was a combination of using the holy site as another potential claim within this region to help us stay somewhat settled here, while the other reason was to make a reminder and maybe impart more martial values upon our civ. I've never played one of these types of quests before so I'm not entirely sure of how this would work out mechanically.

I can't say 100% for sure, but I don't think that actually setting it up as a Holy Site is at all going to work out the way you're intending/expecting it to.

And given the overall wandering status, using something like that for the intent of helping stay settled in the area is counterproductive. We already have the waystation, unless/until we upgrade that waystation we don't want to set up further claims in the area, especially not of the kind you're intending.

Nor do I think that it'll have any significant impact on our martial values. It's far more a religious thing than a war thing.

Why does everyone want to spend the hero bonus on Wolfpacks, something we can already do on our own time? Why not get walls or wrestling, something we thus far have no option to otherwise get?

I agree, holy sites for the more important stuff. Also I wonder how Alvar will be remembered in the future.

If we were going to become sedentary I could see a point in killing them, but as it is were nomadic so we're about to move on anyway and there's no need to react with absolute violence to what will very likely be a not uncommon event in case we get some bad traits from it. THere's also the fact that there's undoubtably some injured here, and the "leave none alive" kind of implies killing those who are already wounded and not a threat, when we could instead learn from them such as those canoes. That's one of the advantages of nomads after all, you meet a wide variety of people and can learn from them.
