Normally I would say go for it, but with the incoming attack it'll be more beneficial to have another Heroic Queen. I'd just keep on grabbing Biomass for now.

Noted, I'll wait until later. Honestly if we can eventually develop an Idol Strain (market it as a communication and diplomatic strain or something, maybe a strain designed to infiltrate humanoid societies) then I'd jump into that as a heroic unit without hesitation.

Hmmm, actually... I could see something like that if we can get the right Essence. A Zerg Strain that uses sound and light to rewire an enemy into seeing the Idol as it's master. Probably for a limited time. Maybe modeled after the Queen of Blades a bit. Make it an AoE effect and you could form up a small group of "fans" to attack for you. The biggest drawback would be that you'd probably have no real actual offensive capabilities.

Well, I can only think of one appropriate response to that!
After several days of frequent mineral dust bathing, the drone's overall coloration has shifted to a pleasingly shiny blue, which stands out sharply against creep, structure, and fellow drones. Even as its broodmates metamorphose into defensive structures or reseat their consciousness into more advanced forms, it continues to take a simple, sublime joy in working with minerals. Minerals are its life in action and carapace alike. It is one with the minerals. The pretty, pretty minerals.

Should I scout the jungle? Are other Zergs doing that, and if so should I split off and check the tunnels or the volcano? Or should I try to grab more Biomass from the jungle?

If I get it it'll go towards resource gathering (so the +3 to gathering whichever resource - generally minerals - per roll, rather than the +1 I can currently). What do people think?

The Shiny Drone is curious whether it's possible to research a way for a drone to metamorphose into a structure that mines. It wants those minerals, you see. It wants them all.
If I get a solid enough mining roll next turn we can potentially have a Baneling Nest and Roach Warren both setting up at the same time. I just have to roll 21 or more.
With that steep research cost, I'm pretty sure this means the Baneling Nest is delayed again, unless we get a dozen more posters adding to both the minerals and the gas.

Yeah, sorry. But with the knowledge that an attack is coming in two turns, I think that the Roach Warren and the Falcons are priority. Banelings can't attack air units anyway, and the Roaches at least are a pretty solid defensive unit for ground attacks when they come, along with basically being able to draw fire by emerging and burrowing in rapid succession.
Queen Harvester looked upon her miners, and found them wanting - they still worked individually, one miner gathering from a crystal and making the journey home, while the next passed it on the way to the crystals. No - this could be more efficient. Drones could specialise - some that constantly broke down the minerals, others that shuttled those minerals to the hatchery.
But she couldn't find a way to imprint her desires into the drones -"MINE!" was a simple order. "Carve a line through the whole crystal, then begin collecting chunks into a pile for the carrier drone" more complicated...
She would need to be MORE. As she watched the neo-drone's efficient gas harvesting she realised what she needed - she needed the same form of hyper-synapses that were allowing that drones heightened awareness, in numbers fitting for a queen.
Fortunately the neo-drone had harvested something special in that batch of Vespene - a Mutagen Catalyst. So she cocooned herself and then filled the cocoon with the fortuitous catalyst and focused on improving her ability to guide her flock.
This drone noted that this was the first time the disparate nature of the hive was truly detrimental to it. The hive should have already had a Roach Warren up now so they could produce roaches for the upcoming battle, but some minds used up all the minerals growing drones. Luckily, the zergling scouts determined that the birds won't be arriving immediately, so the absence of the structure won't be too detrimental, and one of the drones have finally gotten to becoming a Roach Warren. However, for the moment the hive would have to settle for growing the new raptor strain the Queens have created. One of them had evolved into a heroic Queen, which will surely be a boon for the upcoming battle, and there are plans to make a second. The enemy is still overwhelming, but perhaps now the hive would have a chance to drive them off. Regardless, the Hive currently has a large mineral deficit, so this drone continued mining.

The Little Intrepid Drone was back where it belonged.
The stint as a defender had been valuable experience to the horrors that stalked their lands. Giving its life for the Motherland had been the greatest honor, for which he had been rewarded with a return to his services.
But now, more threats rear themselves against its home.
And so the Intrepid Little Drone ventures forth once more, to bring back glory and treasure which may yet aid in the defense of the Motherland.

Psionic Disruption unit mixed with sound and flashbang stuff. Maybe throw in some kind of Echo-location ability to rapidly gain recon data about the area.
A Drone considered recent developments, while mindlessly hurrying back and forth between the flesh-covered gas geyser and its Hatchery, carrying bubbling gas suffused with mutagenic potential. It did not understand all the Swarm's decisions, though it listened to the wide tapestry of their mind-voices, and did not know what awaited it. A great foe was approaching, a potential for disaster, and yet the voices were cheery, laughing in the face of extinction. Maybe they were surer of the Hatchery's power, had more information or a more far-reaching gaze than it did. No matter. Resources were needed, this was simple. And while not everything that happened in the hivemind was clear to it, it yet could notice patterns, and act accordingly. It had noticed that the fainter voices, those that were more lost in exploration of their gift of consciousness, more fascinated with the reaches of their own fantasies and thus less focused on the stark reality that surrounded them, tended to default to gathering minerals.
Just as the thought crossed the Drone's mind another of its kind, awake but silent, drifted past it, barely perceiving the grey shifting creep underneath it and started absent-mindedly slashing at a blue crystal left exposed by the living carpet.
It would prepare for the production of the new warrior strain developed specifically to counter the imminent threat, and stockpile Vespene Gas.
