A good sign for Reed dealing with internal divisions. And a good quote at that.
"You have no oath registered in heaven to destroy the Government, while I shall have the most solemn one to 'preserve, protect, and defend it.'"
John L. Lewis, the closest thing Olson had to an ally in the CSA
Well, the National Guard certainly were politically unreliable. Just... not in the way we were expecting. The commanding officers of the Michigan National Guard had long been ready to break the strike and when the Legislature had given it orders to do so, despite them not being signed by a Governor who was determined to wait for guidance from Washington, they had begun preparations to do just that. By the time new orders arrived from Washington, they had already deployed substantial forces into the city and were about to give orders to the Red Guards to disperse. Perhaps due to an actual ideological opposition to Syndicalism, or maybe it was hubris, they decided to press forward with it. Naturally the Red Guards didn't take kindly and fought back, although not yet with firearms. Months of tension finally came to a head when several National Guard officers ordered their troops to open fire on the Red Guards.
The upside of our choice. This is a major optics victory over Reed. He's losing teeth faster than a sadistic dentist's patient. While Reed and the CSA couldn't pin the violence on Olson's Admin
Aw, sure it does. It's called the White House.
You better be one of those wholesome Christian socialists we took from Reed.
We'll be blamed by someone for it…but the Center is forgiving. Here's to hoping that Civil War starting wouldn't get blamed on us.
For the Center!!So it begins. Liberty withers under the gun's roar spitting fire and death.
