Squirrel Sect [Stone age] [Riot Quest] [Squirrels Cultivating]

The Squirrel that would hopefully one day be known as Bolt was excited. The group has already made excellent time. Not only that, but he could already feel that this expedition would be excellent for cultivation. As others were already beginning to take a break for cultivating, he decided to do so as well.

[X] Cultivate while traveling: Slows down travel progress but gain +1 to roll and uses Qi acorns from the expedition supplies not the sect.

[X]Clean out the disgusting Black impurities [0/60]

The Foolish Leaf who formally held the arrogant title of Wise Stone witnessed the new power gained by one of the cultivators, a choice of wisdom. It was awe inspiring, enlightening, and-

The deaths of several squirrels hit hard. It was not what the sect needed, what it could afford.

Bows to drive off the owls. Cleaners to clear up the impurities. Work was to be done.

Edit: I'll be throwing my reroll at an appropriate cleaning action or one taken to pursue bows that would benefit from it.

...The first thoughts come slowly. Food. Safety. Owl?!? But things change as the squirrel watches. When it eats the most delicious acorns, the world becomes bright and clear. This one stays quiet, stays out of the way- Watching the chaos as dozens of others go about their own tasks. Why is that group leaving? Why is that one digging? Strange.

But over time, one thought becomes clearer and clearer...

I like rocks.

Yes. It gnawed on an unusually brown pebble for a while, some time ago. When it was still half-asleep. It was inedible, but it kept the pangs of hunger away a little bit. And it's one of the first things this squirrel remembers.

I think I want to keep that, and make it be part of me. Yes. Rocks. I like rocks. Should go get some.

[X] Move normally: Blance safety and speed

Mimic was tired. Their previous day's travel had gotten the expedition further from the nest than any of them had travelled before. Despite this speed was still needed, but a cautious speed. They must return in time to protect the nest but if they don't return at all then they cannot help anyone

Edit: Total of 10 (12 with the inspiration bonus). My reroll is free for anyone on the expedition who rolls low, if the expedition does well then someone else doing something dangerous can take it

In a way, the squirrel had begun a cycle.

Outward. Inward. And now outward again.

Outward to the surrounding world, opening himself to possibilities previously beyond conception. Inward, filling his inner being with energy to be spent when most needed.

And now, outward again, taking in the existence of...everything.

As the squirrel recognized, it was not the threats that were known that were a true danger. Any challenge could be overcome with enough time and knowledge. Even the fearsome owl could be survived - vanquished, even - if only they could see them coming and had time enough to spare.

No, the true threats were threats unknown. And that was what made the owl truly dangerous, its great aptitude with striking without warning, its prey dead before it even realized its life was in peril.

True security, true power, true triumph would come from true awareness of the surrounding world.

And so the squirrel sat and opened his senses to all that the world had to offer. The flow of the breeze, the rippling of flowing water, the sound of moving leaves. Not even the falling of the leaf or the footstep of the smallest insect would escape his notice.

And in time, he would learn the moves of the owl before the owl knew itself. And then at last would the long order of the squirrel and owl finally at long last be upended and turned on its head.

[X] Choose a Dao: Awareness

EDIT: Accidentally pressed roll before finished dice title with adding in the +1 note.

Side note:

How exactly does it work having .6 of a Squirrel?

The squirrel who was so enamored by buildings was devastated at the news of the war.

The owls built nothing, but only destroyed what others had built.

To the squirrel this was the very definition of evil, but the others were saying that even cultivators might fall to their talons.

If even cultivators might lose their lives, then a reserve force of them must be raised to stand a chance, and the Squirrel would be a part of that reserve.

I still have a reroll. Not sure if we want to try to force an insight this time, but my personal cultivation is probably not the best place for it, so I'll save it until someone rolls at least one 10 on an actually useful roll.

I should point out cultivation allows for squirrel fu which would allow non-cultivators to defend somewhat against the owls. It's likely a viable strat, but I'd reccomend saving it until we see a double 10 of any sort.

[X]Gather from the fallen long
Need to gather Qi if I want to use my dao. Plus it would be crazy to use my dao on a triple 10.

EDIT: Changing action to gathering wood so we don't die to the owls.

In the light of dawn, Grey-Ears begins his practice, focusing his mind and centering his spirit amidst the tranquil embrace of the forest. With each breath, he draws in the essence of the world around him, feeling the subtle currents of Qi pulsating through the air. His senses attuned to the subtle energies, he harmonizes his own Qi with that of the natural world, finding resonance in the gentle rhythm of life all around. Through patience and dedication, Grey-Ears cultivates his inner Qi, laying the foundation for the profound manifestations of the Dao of Knowledge yet to come.

Second dice is from omake and third dice is from picture.
In total I should have gotten 17-18 wood depending on how my level 1 cultivation interacts with the 2x wood action.

[X] Choose a Dao: (Requires at least level 1 cultivation) Must write in the Dao.: Dao of the five elements

Sometome in the future/ when books and writing is invented:

Journal of this young squirrel
Entry: the day I chose my dao

It was a regular day like any other back then: the owl's were attacking us,
some squirrels were gathering food,
and I, I was looking at one of the other squirrels,
back then we did not know what we did now and our numbers were not as large, bot one of the senior cultivators chose their path and I saw what happened,
they chose one of knowledge and gained the power to enhance their Strength of mind, for what is knowledge but the weight that we use our brain to carry?
I decided to communicate with him in our more simplistic and instinctive tongue and knew that there was something out on nature that would inspire me. So i looked and decided to examine something i took for granted, the nearby river,
that day would change me forever; for a fire had broken out on the other side,
a tree was burning and that made ash which was washed away by the water, nearby an unknown object which was later known as a hatchet had water drip from its blade as I saw the damage it had done yo a tree and I saw that metal were the water had travelled for months was rusted, and something finally broke as I understood a cycle in things when I saw the roots of a tree in the earth, water nurtures wood, which field fire, which produces earth in its ash, and from the earth came metal, which I saw as shiny things in the water and thought was shiny and thus instead of metal collecting water I thought , shiny collects water, and the cycle repeats. Over and over and over and over- (thus goes on for 10 more pages) -and over and I thought, "This is the strength of nature and this shall be my path". What I did to begin my path is a story for a later entry
The date is (illegible)
I am senior brother (scribbled out) , and I will write again.

Edit: I believe that is a total of ten
