Semper Ad Meliora (Code Geass/Britannian Royalty Quest)

Wait, we need to invent proper cruise missiles? Do we have any theory that or ninjas can filch first or are we gonna have to start from scratch?

What about ballistic missiles?
There are some theories out there. Rocketry is not very well developed outside small-scale defensive applications for military units.

You might be able to crib notes off someone or develop your own. There are possibilities.
AHAHAHAHAHA! Oh man, you have not seen or heard of Akio The Exile, have you?

This is going to be fun. And by fun I mean I get a new buddy to share in my misery.
Ugh... I knew this was going to come up, but damn it... it still grates. Fucking Akito the Exiled. You make less than no goddamn sense.

[X][DOC] Harassment

After the info post, I am solidly in the harassment side. The effective range and their comm range makes for long-distance strikes, keeping capitals out of danger range while striking from afar. The downsides are mainly doctrinal and inexperience in nature and can be overcome. We've got someone to SCIENCE a whole new dimension of combat technology for a doctrine that no one in this universe has experience with. They'll lag behind trying to catch up. Not to mention we have an admiral that has shown unconventional thinking to work the new doctrine.

Further technology might move into ballistic or guided missiles and deployment of KMFs through float systems later. Or even helicarriers.

Torpedoes, yes. Cruise Missiles, no. After you invent them, then we'll talk.
We don't have cruise missiles yet?... we do have SAMs or basic missiles tho, right? adding a jet engine to-... ohhh right we don't have a jet engines. But still, adding the "Totally not Jet engines, that have air intake" used on the Britannian jets should still make a decent cruise missile. Do we have guidance technology, like heat seekers, laser guided, gps guided, and etc?

If no one else has developed this doctrine or a counter to it, then I say we should take advantage of that.

Don't know why you quoted me since I didn't say what you quoted.
Ok, I did a hard refresh with Ctrl+F5 and somehow what I quoted turned out to have been posted by Ramble. The funny thing is that I only quote by either hitting +Quote in the post or selecting the part of text and using +Quote. After that I use Insert Quotes.
Strange bug.
Fixed it.

CG guidance tech is one of the things that's lagging compared to their otherwise advanced tech. There's a massive emphasis on close-quarters-combat weapons and armor in this world. Also, "Jet Motor." All electric.

[X][DOC] Main Battle Fleet

because our chosen area of operations won't remain this for long. As it stands, we're already on the very edge of the Pacific, and I doubt that the planes will make leaps and bounds to reach some desirable level soon enough to warrant a specialisation on it.

The EU space capability was mentioned as just not existing in this AU.
I'm sure Lelouch would have mentioned if the EU had space tech when he was talking about the ancient civilization's war and sakuradite on the moon. I got the impression nobody has really breached the Karman Line yet.

Also reminds me. What's the state of cyberwarfare here? We don't really see much of it but as I remember, they had personal computers and the internet so malware should be a thing and state sponsored hacking a big thing in time of war
How has sakuradite impacted it? I remember that Slayer's Ignobility on QQ held that software massively lagged behind real life but was made up by magical pink metal

Software complexity is low, processing power is high. Brute force is the name of the game in most cases.

That said, hackers are experiencing something of a golden age as the internet really blooms for the first time over the past ten years. Corruptive code is becoming more and more common outside of isolated system (which yours is). Also, the lack of satellite infrastructure means that there are still wide swaths of the world without internet service. Most of China, India, Indonesia, Africa, the Middle East, and extensive parts of South America are still cut off from what is becoming a world wide web.

There is some nascent conflict between the Imperial and the United cyber services, though it hasn't escalated to 'warfare' yet. Mostly it's just a different set of standards and an inability (and lack of desire) to facilitate communication between the two networks.

Also, the lack of satellite infrastructure
No satellites confirms no country has had anything to do with space yet.

That... would actually prevent it quite well. Not feasible in the long term if not engaged in war, trade pressures especially would force compatibility but for now it will work partially.
Easily bypassed by buying a local computer and hacking while in the EU but hacking EU while sitting in Britannia not so much.

The memories Lelouch has of the ancient civilization make him well placed to realize the advantage of better programming over hardware. There's a reason we prioritize it after all
Of course lack of complex software also implies dearth of suitable tools. Have fun designing C:grin:

If they are brute forcing everything to get same results as us that implies they are using sakuradite since it is the only difference. Sakuradite is an valuable and limited resource. So replacing sakuradite with better programming would let him produce products on par but cheaper. He could corner the market. And when using sakuradite... a superconductor at our levels would massively improve performance. Military will be pleased

I think the ancient human civilization was less focused on computers and more focused on psionic artefacts. Remember that normal people were slaves with low level education. You can't really build a computer infrastructure without a significant number of skilled labour.
It was basically a magitech society of sorceror kings. If they wanted to communicate then they used telepathy, if they wanted to project images they used psionic illusions. They might have been advanced in certain mundane fields like math or material sciences but I don't think computers as we know them were really something they used.
They might for all we know used brain wiped slaves connected to psionic artefacts to simulate computing with higher processing power and parallel processing while the operator connects to the system and just gives commands using their mind.
