One Giant Leap: Exodus Quest(Dropped)

I meant for the reward?
Oh, fair enough. I think we need a government to start getting political power so if you grab that then I can burn one to have a better chance of getting point defense turrets.

However the secret story chapter is very interesting and we probably won't get a chance for that later.

The actions this turn don't really have anything critical so I don't think taking one of the + 10s would be worth it compared to the other options.

[X] Plan: preparing for the long trip

let's keep fucking Maintenace up and running, hopefully we can get some other stuff going...plus more political power means more capability to keep things going. Maybe if we can push hard enough, we can ensure the UN actually becomes a proper government.

Alrighty, here is my plan:

I propose starting at the Beginning! IN SPACE!

[X]Plan: Reductio Ad Absurdum (We Reach into the Absurd!):
-[X] Maintenance of the UN Arkships(normal)

We need to get to our new home, and that means we need to make sure the pieces of the greatest engineering project mankind ever designed remain in such working order.

-[x] Fate of the Voyager
-- [] Let it be so that it can continue to fulfill its last mission…

Greetings and Friendly wishes, to all who encounter this voyager, and receive this message.

Let the Voyager continue its mission. That is what we built them for.

In time, and in the future, we will meet them again, if Destiny proclaims it so.

-[x] Set up a provisional government
--[]The Human Remnants (Reliquiae Humanae)
--[]Democratic Government
--[] "We are the sole heirs of Earth. We are Her people cast off into the Distant Space, on a journey where we do not know its end. But we are not going to repeat the mistakes of our past, that may damage our future. We must hold accountable, that all rights, all human life, and life itself, are sacred, and valuable. We have been given, blessed even if some want to use an antiquated turn, a chance to begin a new, with all our knowledge and all our flaws, in a distant world. We are lucky to have this chance. We must continue to strive forward, as humans, to do what is right for one another. And when we reach our destination, do what is necessary, for the survival of our species, and for the Good of all mankind. Ad Altiora Tendo. Let us strive for something higher.

Possibly the boldest thing I will post here for this turn. I want mankind's simple human decency to win out, but we know we structure and order. But instead of falling into old habits, we try to build something better. So we are the Remnants of our people.

Let us hope to be better, among the stars.

-[x] Send some scans into deep space(normal)

I hope we aren't flying blind into a new frontier, or aliens. Or other shit, but better safe then sorry.

Nice plan, personally I would have gone for a Oligarchy so that way the heads of each department vote among themselves for what to do but it's hard to go wrong with democratic. Unless we're doing direct diplomatic but we have so little people even that might work.

The reason I went for democratic is simple.

Mankind has always been dominated, for its entire history, by Kings, Dictators, military strongmen, and the like. That is the story of Earth.

I want the story of our new home to be that of Mankind getting past its worse impulses. To become better.

An absurd notion, but we must try.

Perhaps I'm an idealist. But hey... it's sci-fi.

Lets see what that world may mean to us.

Fair enough, I'm more for a temporary (hopefully but probably not) Oligarchy cause it puts the people with the knowhow into power but that only works for a short amount of time. Beginning as you plan to continue is probably better overall.

Anyways I would switch but point defense guns are too tempting

Also @ProjectUnidad Can I make up a name for one of the arcs?

Because I have the Perfect Name for one of them.

Capax Infiniti. To Hold Infinity.

That just seems freaking perfect.

Since we are leaving Voyager alone, do we even need an action? Can we change it to point defense?

Also, if I can dig out an 20 min away from the kids, I have an idea about the planet promt, any word and what system we are going to or how far away?

Every action you get a reward(or a punishment depending if you have to roll to beat the DC), there is a reason why I included that option.

For the planet prompt, the earth like planet would be located in the Tau Ceti system which is 12 light years away

Need to do a refresher on how scientists study planets from other systems, can I add a few moons? Hopefully get it out by tomorrow
