Wanted to get Telepathy as well but couldn't afford it

They reproduce solely asexually and function as much like a hive mind as is allowed, very exited for the quest

A strange cephalopodian people risen from the darkest depths of the oceans to inhabit the surface-world, residing in the warm and water-choked tropics to which their molluscoid forms are most suited.
Clad in colour-shifting skin as a reminder of their deep-sea ancestors and bestowed with heads of writhing tentacles and terrible pointed teet, these creatures are attuned by birth to the strange Magicks of the world and are more than happy to work its influence through bacchanalian rituals, elaborate games and the construction of mysterious sites of worship. Unlike many other species they are not beholden to the strictures of dimorphism, marking no distinctions between individuals save those of dress and status.

These unassuming mammals are extremely deadly, being killer predators among their favoured habitat, though the days of being an apex predator has long since passed. Adapted for the heat yet located in a subarctic climate transported by an unknown phenomena in the distant past every day is a struggle for these small humanoids against the climate itself. If not for their magical talent this species would have died off long ago, needing a mixture of instinctive magics to merely survive most crucially among them water breathing and supernaturally insulating their aquatic homes to survive the long and harsh winters. With the failure of either of these crucial magics resulting in a swift death of hypothermia this has pressured the remaining population towards magic and a hibernation alike lifestyle.

is it possible to play an insectoid race? and if so, is it possible for them to have their own unique genus, with a corrisponding trait that it gives? (said trait would likely be Prolific, if if it is fine to stick to something worth two points, Prolific and Short if the point value needs to add up to three)

there is something to be said for building down as well as up, and there is something to be said about highly controlled agriculture, and there is something to be said about building a functioning society in which all members help out all others within the same 'tribe', and that is that Insects did it first. these insects, granted greater minds, greater size, opposable thumbs, and an internal skeleton in addition to their external one by the magic that saturates these lands, now seek to expand out and forge an empire, just like their ancestors did in the undergrowth and treetops for the past several million years; and this time? they're building more tools with which to reshape their world.

look like ants, with the foremost section of their body(their foremost pair of legs and their head, basically) being 'replaced' by a torso with two arms and a semi-insectoid, semi-humanoid, head. (fits right into that area where it is still recognizable as the head of an ant, but you can imagine it talking and having human-like facial expressions without needing to involve way too much magic or produce way too much of a creep factor- honestly, they're kind of cute looking).

biologically speaking, over 95% of their population is (at least outwardly) female and completely infertile, with the remaining 5% being made out of fertile males and females(who could then 'choose' to become Hive broodmares/queens down the line, or decide to remain as 'princesses'). the females, both fertile and infertile, poses organs on their chest which, along with their abdomen, can store partially-to-mostly processed food for later trophallaxis. conveniently, when storing said nutritious liquid(literally somewhere between milk and honey in taste and consistency) said organs resemble breasts from the outside. the organ in their abdomen can store allot more, but that's more for long term use and storage, although the fertile members of their species lack that other storage space. note that most members of the hive cannot gain very large amounts of fat, as in the infertile females exes food is converted into said nutritious liquid(which they themselves can 'eat' later if they need to, or feed it to others), while in the fertile females any excess food goes to gestating more young(assuming that they have mated in the past). it is only the males that can actually get fat, and thus it is those males that are the first to be thrown out if/when a famine comes around, as they lack the ability to share any food beyond the amount required to survive that they eat. (famine, and working around it, has shaped their society in a multitude of ways, to be covered in another voting section later on.). (and yes, they are weaver ants with a bit mixed in from the honeypot ant, with relatively recent changes to their society allowing for them to bring in the biggest advantage of the argentine ant- the ability to consistently have, and tolerate, multiple queens per settlement(although even back in the day young queens-to-be did not leave the nest without a group of future workers for the new settlement/hive))

reproduction rate wise, if given enough food a queen can lay one egg per week(although with a multi-month long interlude between being fertilized and the first fertilized egg being laid), much slower than the base rate of their smaller, more primitive kin. these eggs take several more months to develop and hatch, after which the young, no matter what type it might develop into, spends several(3-5, depending on surrounding conditions) years going through the larval and pupal stage, after emerging as an adult. adult workers(and males) then go on to live for only an average of 15 more years(assuming that nothing else kills them first), while the firtile females often live to see the age of 50(counting from reaching maturity).

biologically, they can digest most fungal and vegetable matter (and technically meat, if not in large quantities), although still prefer their own home grown fungal variants(which in this case can grow to rather large scales, and aren't quite so sensitive to external conditions as that of the base leafcutter ant), which they farm underground and in other artificial habitats(which they are extremely good at building, both above and below ground, at least relative to their overall technology level)

like their smaller, more primitive, kin, they retain the ability to spray formic acid, although not quite in the same volume relative to body mass, and the pupal cocoons of their maturing young can be spun into silk if carefully preserved after said process is finished. said silk is then mostly used in their own construction projects, as it makes for a nice, lightweight layer when woven, and still makes for very good rope when merely spun.

note that with the increase in size, even their alates have ceased to have a winged stage.

The Hive is a relative newcomer to Sentience, having only been recently uplifted via magical means, and then spent most of the years between then and now stuck in constant internal warfare due to them having mostly stuck to their biological imperatives from their more primitive days(from before being uplifted).

despite being uplifted using magic, what magic they have is mostly locked away into maintaining their biology and ensuring that their eusocial bonds continue to function as intended despite the increased intelligence of the individual members of the species.

3 points+1 (carnivore)+1 (Short Lives) -1 (keen senses)-2 (intuitive)-2 (Efficient Metabolism)

Would have been easier if every negative trait gave the same amount of points as it's opposite did, but I think I got a decent race out of this that encapsulates what I want here.
The oceans; vital to trade, to travel, and life itself, it is also home to something few have reason to encounter. These predatory creatures are intelligent in the extreme, with highly tuned senses and an efficient digestive track to compensate for their voracious appetites. Though their lives might be short, they always burn brightly.

pretty sure it a option but to be sure @AKuz

Again, this came up with a beta reader. I didn't add them because I wanted to keep the complexity down, for my own sanity if nothing else.

I'm willing to allow an Insect write in on a limited basis for Genus: Insectoid, Either get [Eusocial] Trait at a discount of 2 Trait Points OR Gain a Trait Point that can only be spent on a 1 Cost Trait

[X] The Herculeans
-Frame: Humanoid
-Genus: Homo Sapiens
-Trait 1: Giant
-Trait 2: Hermaphroditic
-Trait 3: Muscular
-[X] Hex: 296

A race of all male-presenting hermaphrodites, they appear to be like normal human men albeit very hairy and with consistently exaggeratedly masculine facial features, along with being far larger and more muscular than any man could ever realistically hope to be.

They however have a complex system of gender, with their sex shifting throughout their lives in response to stimuli and necessity. While they are always capable of producing children either through impregnating others or being impregnated themselves, their bodies shift and change in order to make certain roles easier such as wider hips to bear children. A Herculean can stay in a single role for much of their life, it is impossible for it to be their entire lifespan unless they die quickly. These roles only begin to become apparent during puberty and develop as well as mercurially change throughout it.

Essentially 'Omegaverse Bara Men'. If you don't know what those first two words mean, don't worry about it. :V

[X] Plan Frog Shrek

-[X] Aquatic
-[X] Giant (-1)
-[X] Strong Constitution (-2)
-[X] Magically Inert (+1)
-[X] Hex: 2 Hexes, location up to the QM (-1)

My general idea was a big race of Shrek analogues. Aquatic is the closest I can get to amphibians, and with 2 hexes (presumably close together, though if the QM decides I guess they could be apart?) they're fairly widespread in comparison to most of their counterparts. I figure they get on pretty well with each other, and their aquatic nature means they can afford to create underwater farms for plants/livestock to feed themselves? Either that or they end up raiding other people for food, or just be nomadic in general, or I guess a mix of all three. No idea on the specific location, I can't seem to parse the map, so I'll leave it up to the QM, but I figure they're somewhere swampy? If it has to be coastal I guess magical mangroves might do.

Ideally I'd have given them Long lived and Inefficient Metabolism as well, but then I went over the max trait cap and centauroids doesn't really fit the vibe I was going for.
@AKuz can we approval vote for other plans we like, or is it one vote per person? Also, I'm assuming an Amphibious genus would basically come under Aquatic, instead of having it's own thing?

I'm having only one vote per person because otherwise the workload would become untenable for me.

And yes, to keep complexity down Amphibious falls under Aquatic, but you can use your description to say that they're Amphibians in particular.

I couldn't fit muscular into the build and I didn't want to give up strong constitution, so these are a bulky lizardfolk. Besides that, literally saurus from Warhammer Fantasy because I just think they're neat. I didn't expect so many people to also make draconic species too. I guess this is a continent of scalie people. I've put them on the river delta of a tropical monsoon between the jungle and savannah. It's a good place for them and they'll well suited to expand from there.

I saw the idea of "lesbian fluffers" was mentioned in the Discord so I hastily drew up this basic bitch plan o7
Willing to take input and edit it for anyone who wants to vote for it.

Edit: Decided to change it around a bit
The Vacla have male and female sexes, but all are what other "homo sapiens"-type species would consider female-presenting, with no secondary sexual dimorphism.
Appearance wise, they're wolf-women, slightly "furrier" than standard anime kemonomimi, but clearly "homo sapiens"-like (in facial features, torso and limb shape, etc.)

You see it in the distance these large geese and curiously you head close to them to satiate that curiosity. You realize these geese have humanoid arms and hands with some carrying tools.

You feel large hands grab your from behind. Now its curiosity will be satiated and it has more intrusive thoughts about what to do with you.

The churning depths have gifted their haunting wonder to land: the Draut. Dredged surfaceward by primordial forces, these giants defy preconceptions with billowing bodies of silklike consistency. To some, the Draut boggle the mind with their impossibility, defiant of basic biology. This sense is reinforced further with the Draut's magic. These beauties are unprecedented in their form and that may be their undoing.
