Notably, this revision also means we unlock the entire Kil'drabi Melody toolkit, which might do something? I dunno.

But it seems like Progress/Community/Family are the first three parts of an Inf boosting Song, we just need to figure out the last two steps and we'll be in business. Maybe Technology and another Progress at the end to cap it off?
Paths AND Growth? Yay!

For "all Kil'drabi":
This is the melodies we could sing
Uncovered: Technology III, Revenant.
Secret: Slumber, Silence II, Perception II, and Grounding II.
Star Child: Hope III, Compassion II, Humanity III, Mercy II, Creativity III, Health II, Unity III, Innovation II, Machinery II, Logic III, Progress III, Protection III, Justice II, Wisdom II, The Sun III, The Home III, Death II, Ruthlessness II, Brutality II, Fire III, and Love.
Kil'drabi: Paths, The Void II, Struggle III, Community, and Family.
Irrita: Growth, Plants, Harmony, and Hunger.
Gain: Six Melodies newly Conducted.)
And here it is with all with levels removed.
Uncovered:Revenant.
Secret: Slumber
Star Child: Love.
Kil'drabi: Paths, Community, and Family.
Irrita: Growth, Plants, Harmony, and Hunger.
Gain: Six Melodies newly Conducted.)
Dunno if there is anything for all Kil'drabi, but it might be worth it to check for all melodies.
With 10 unsung melodies, 5 now (your plan), 5 next turn would do it.

I think people are overlooking are fleet situation. We just integrated the Ashan, but sold all the ships they had, which means that we have to do something to replace what they had. I think we need to take some construction actions for SBG's. Not to mention we have the Necrons slinking around somewhere. We should build up now, not after we are attacked.

I think this is a wasted action, the next threat will probably be the Necrons, so we should instead use the action to build up some more SBG's to replace the Ashan ships we sold.
I would probably agree, but the QM has explicitly asked we do it.
Lets not blueball our qm any longer.
I am once again begging you to ask for threats. I have been holding back a prophecy since you literally unlocked this Action. End my suffering.

Off-topic, I love how the thread is just discovering how cool Songs are and it's like our new fancy toy that we want to play with at every opportunity.

I'm curious how this looks in universe, is the Glimmering Federation just suddenly pulling psychic miracles out of our collective asses? Are the Eldar malding in jealousy? Is the Star-Child just patting themselves on the back for pointing it out?

Maybe there's a shockingly innovative and radical head of the Star Chorus, who's not gonna take it anymore. All the centuries older elders are grumbling 'in my day we had THREE songs and liked it! Who needs more songs than I have limbs!'

@HeroCooky would any of these work to boost military production?
Yeah, last one.
I'm curious how this looks in universe
Basically the same as the Industrial Revolution or Renaissance looked. A slow build-up of factors that rapidly snow-balled into an explosion of frenzied activity.

The Celestial Choir has been preparing the foundations for psychic use for literal centuries, and now people are reasonably capable and safe via Sacred Sands, Psychic Equipment, and Training to devote themselves to research.

You are basically the wet dream of Magnus the Red right now before he did nothing wrong and the universe went to complete shit (unrelated).

Oh yeah, our center for Psykana Research, did we Consecrate that too?

Also, legitimately, are you okay with me deciding to go a full +18 Melodies this turn or would you rather I not? I don't want to make your life miserable.

My sibling in 40k...you have about 2 Trillion people in your nation with a functional economy centered around massive Interstellar Shipping Companies.

There is enough money in your own nation for that.

With that; Night!
Holy shit, we grew a lot. even when considering Voxx Primus's population and everythign, that said yah the amount of ships we'd be selling on the market is fine and might be what the population wants considering this would sort of be the influx needed to start a new ISC and the like.

"...And as my first act with this new authority, I will create a Grand Army of the Republic Federation, to counter the increasing threats of the heretics/xenos/daemons."
LOL god damn how did I not see and pick up on that. Grand Armies of the Subsectors of the Glimmering Federation.

That's all they remind you of? They are color-coded after all...
I mean, I did notice it but didn't want to say anything. I knew right away the colors related to the four warp tumors and the gold was Big E. I just didn't want to jump to that and see that in everything, looks like I was right that's what the colors meant.

Its a stylistic hand-turkey. A bird. A bird in yellow. A bird in yellow as a symbol next to the symbols of the other four.

Yes, I am very funny, thank you.
OH that's what it looks like, I wasn't sure what that was.

+++Forge-Master, the valiant Orders of the Obsidian Hammer and Blazing Sun have ordered from us Knight Questoris to fill their ranks.+++

+++A blessed day to labor in pursuit of the Machine-Gods chosen hands of war. How many do they require? 4? Perhaps 5? We are more than equipped to fullfill that order within the century, if at the cost of other projects.+++

+++...37. They wish them in a century.+++

+++ERROR 404: DATA [INCOMPREHENSIBLE SCREAM OF MANUFACTURING BACKLOG-INDUCED AGONY] NOT FOUND.+++
We really just make decisions like this for memes or it seems cool and our Forge-masters/Recruiters/Shipbuilders/Logistics Core/etc just scream to the void when we do this stuff. Consistently, repeatedly. And damn, they can do 5 Questoris in a century if they stall on othe projects and the orders are asking for 37 in the same time frame... RIP the Forgemaster.

-[] A Cure For Lycanthropy
(Gain: Can now mass-screen your populations genes for dormant mutations.)
Hello, that's an interesting one and very useful there. man we have a LOT of research still need to do, we might want to make a full tech turn soon to get rid of some of these techs already.

[] [Military] Create Grand Army (Write-in Name) for (Sub-Sector) or Knight Order (Write-in Name)
Grand Armies are composed out of 2 SAGs per Sub-Sector System, which themselves are composed out of 4 Units each. Though each SAG will have their own Battle Standard and Motto, only those which already exist will be recorded in detail. A Grand Army requires you to specify each SAG as either Light, Medium, or Heavy, with the further moniker of Infantry/Mechanized/Tanks/Augmetic Legions Formations attached. All other specialisations will be taken care of within the Grand Army itself. A Knight Order contains 20 War-Packs, one War-Pack consisting of One Questoris per Four Armigers, of variable Patterns.
(Gain: One Grand Army or Knight Order.)
Oh really? that's how its going. Awww, I'm gonna miss the old style of it and the choices we had. Things change but still. sad.

-[] Reverse Engineer the Knights (0/5)
(Gain: You can now build Knights Paladin, Errant, and Gallant.)
Oh right, we should start on that.... Holy shit we are going to cause so many headaches

[] [Psykana] Conduct Six Melodies (0.6/1 - Auto Complete) - [Choose Melodies]
Holy shit we can do Six Melodies with one action now.

[] [Psykana] Sing two Songs (Choose at least Three below.)
HOLY SHIT WE CAN DO TWO SONGS. seriously lets please just do a turn doing these or putting in a action per turn. Come on guys I've been collecting all the possible songs in the list. just choose your favorite or interesting ones and do it please.

[] [Psykana] Sing a Symphony (Choose Five Songs)
Words beyond meaning, songs beyond uttering, a hum of power that is the Warp reveling in its own power unleashed. A Symphony crafted from labor centuries long, and one that shall burn itself into history eternal, both mortal and Immaterial.
(Gain: A Symphony)
And we finally have it unlocked.... I'd really rather do more songs since we've been on a spree lately and want to grab others. Seriously we started doing them for symphonies and we saw how good some of the ones we choose so far, lets do another one or two songs. Please? and use the Ancient Tech location song?

[] [Knightly Orders] Century-Long Manufacturing Backlog (0/5)
Fill all your Knight Orders to capacity with new Questoris Knights.
(Gain: Chonkier Knight Orders.)
Hahahaha oh boy that is a lot time. yah, that will take some time about a century to get done. I really pity them.

I am once again begging you to ask for threats. I have been holding back a prophecy since you literally unlocked this Action. End my suffering.
hmmmm, no. we need that extra action to do something else. it can wait like how we normally do things in this quest, waiting until the last minute or second to last minute.

Ahhhh, yah that does check out. We have Scared sands, our centuries of training the choirs and their sharing the risk by dividing it into five people using the power, and having good equipment to migrate the backlash of it.... yah its a build of and feeling safe and secure enough to just deep right into it.

It took us way too long to make new songs when it has been with us since the beginning and we unlocked a research boosting song, it was a building stone of our civilization and now we are all about songs and the like. We do tunnel vision and sprint down the path when we lock on it.
It's just a problem of moderation or being able to switch back and forth no problem.

1. so for comparison how was an Expanded Pack compared to the earlier SAG system? and how is the a Knight Order now compared to a Grand Army?

I will remind people.

Diverting Power - Enables a Choir to divert hostile Warp Energies around a small bubble centered on themselves to another place. The size of the bubble can be improved by Psytech, Arcane Sigils, Sacrifice, and Power.
We have this and I think getting another song for protection would good to have that might be able to be projected or find out how it works. its the same for the Shield Us From The Influence Of The Four song, WE are fine and alright but that song would allow us to stop any chaos corruption in worlds we go into or haven't converted yet, I don't think I need to state how having a song we can use to secure allies who haven't changed religions to the Star Child is valuable right?

OK! @Alectai - did you see this?
Heartbeat Of Industry - Struggle, Fire, Machinery, Unity, Hope, Song
will be like The Devouring Mechadendrite but for military actions. That sounds like something we want for anything nasty coming down the pipes, yeah? Also might toss machinery into the upgrade stack if possible, it's the only melody in there that isn't level II.

Oh yeah, our center for Psykana Research, did we Consecrate that too?
I'm 90% sure it's Diablo Major, and yes!

I did, let me see where I can make it fit.

EDIT: Wait, I already am upgrading Machinery in this stack.

EDIT: Wait, I already am upgrading Machinery in this stack.
What I'm suggesting is we only do 2 melody upgrade actions and then sing 2 songs, one of which is
Heartbeat Of Industry - Struggle, Fire, Machinery, Unity, Hope, Song
and the other can be something like
Shield Us From The Influence Of The Four - Protection, Hope, Grounding, Health, Protection
Nova Explosiva Killinga - Sun, Fire, Death, Death, Death
or even
Hippity Hoppity, Where The FUCK Are Our Ancestor's Properties?! - Humanity Technology Technology Perception Perception

The melodies are a means to an end, after all.

Oh right, just reminder for Write-in's we should do or are around. Write in's for making an Iconoclast Breakaway buffer state in the Dutchy and a write-in for allowing the Lamenters to take some psykers to have their own Librarians. I think there was another one but I forgot it at this point.

I applied scrutiny to the Melodies and grew a beard so heavy that it cracked the coffee table in half, after getting rid of it in the aftermath, I pared things down to the minimum number of Melodies while keeping my promise of pushing Paths and making sure the new Songs hit the ground at Rank II.

What Songs Upgrade from this?

Well, let's take a look. Fire, Protection, Sun, Hope, Humanity, Machinery, Technology, Progress, Perception, Unity, and Paths go up a step.

Break Your Chains hits Rank III, and we'll finally have a full spread of the level of difference between a Rank I and a Rank III Song. Unto Works Generational upgrades to Rank III as well, which is a good thing because it's powerful but super expensive, finally, both of the new Songs--the Military version of Devouring Mechadendrite apparently, and one that tells us where to look for Ancient Stuff both enter our spellbook at Rank II instead of Rank I.

It's not perfect, but it at least puts us in a position where we can upgrade a lot of stuff with only one action next turn. And honestly, if I can be released from my promise to push Paths, I can swap it with The Home or Creativity and we get two more Rank III Songs out of either of them. (Bound to the Stars, A Web of Song if we go for The Home, Glint of Genius and Devouring Mechadendrite if I go with Creativity)

EDIT: Creativity actually upgrades three songs to Rank III, so that would win out.

If you are singing multiple songs, maybe put them as seperate subvotes of sing a song for better readability.
Also, your melody list contains 6+5 melodies, but 2 ap would allow 6+6 (i would suggest growth).
Also, you still have the x3 on the melodies action, probably left over from an older versoin of the plan.

Oh, hey, that works. I'll put Creativity in there simply because Creativity unlocks three more Level III songs, and they're all ones we want on all the time. Then we can do another Melody turn next turn to upgrade a bunch of other Songs with one AP. AND I managed to keep Paths in there without breaking anything! Though if I can be released from the promise I can put The Home in there and we'll upgrade our Travel and Comms Songs too.

How about this: In exchange for replacing Paths with whatever you want, you promise 1 AP on new melodies, including Paths+Growth, next chance (delayable for emergencies)

I'm not convinced either of those are necessary and easy. The Duchy has been pretty-well behaved and we're actually pretty well-set up to fight the next war if they want to start it (which they currently don't). Trying to make a breakway state is both an action sink and likely to start the war we want to avoid.

Additionally, I'm not sure the Lamenters need librarians. As we saw during the Valan campaign, they have psyker support from our choirs. I don't know that we need to dump a bunch of actions into inventing a new psyker tradition for them when the current one works so well.

I'm sorry, I know that you've posted the reasoning for being so hardcore about paths before, but can you link it or restate it? I've forgotten.

it just one. its just allowing them to take some pyskers from the choir candidates that are compatible with the geneseed. not like its going to take THAT many out, the rest would be handled by the Lamenters as they and the Knight orders have their own auto-tickers. And I think having Space Marines capable of doing that would be easier and better then having to guard the choirs and we wouldn't be making a whole new psyker tradition and reinvent things. The Librarians would be following the same structure.

I'm just stating these are options and were talked about and asked before. better to keep them on the table then forget about it.

I'm sorry, I know that you've posted the reasoning for being so hardcore about paths before, but can you link it or restate it? I've forgotten.
In short:
I expect there is some combo to express warproutes/travel in songs ( besides our first travel song).
Got a few different song ideas based on that that i hope combo well. (Imagine a systems choirs being able to aid travel from/to, but also able to fuck with approaching enemies. If my ideas work out, we'd have enough related but not overlapping songs for a symphony.)
Also, probably useful for other things in songs. (Think "path to" idioms)

Building ourselves the tools to be prepared for whatever comes!

@HeroCooky For help in referencing past interpretations:
Struggle, Fire, Machinery, Unity, Hope, Song = Heartbeat Of Industry
Humanity, Technology, Technology, Perception, Perception = Hippity Hoppity, Where The FUCK Are Our Ancestor's Properties?!

I think we're all excited to be getting those both at level II. I am glad we're upgrading Glint of Genius, because we're going to be buried in research options soon. Not that we aren't already. It would be funny if the song basically gave us a second New Dawn running around coming up with tech options.
