What should your focus for the rest of the Quest be?

I have decided to make my own plan, pushing back supporting the efforts on Vox Prime a turn because I feel it is the best action to sacrifice in exchange for taking advantage of the doubled production bonus of Kharnivore War Packs that Cooky has offered for this turn only.
What do you mean, for this turn only? Where does that come from?

[X] Plan: Colonizing Paladins
-[X] [General] Colonize (Planet/s)
--[X] Grubbub and Sira
---[X] Ultima Sigritta/Sira is to be colonized as a primarily military colony, with focus to be given as a priority on building defenses, shipyards, and SDF.
-[X] [Military] Militarize The Schools Of Paladins

-[X] [Voxx Primus] Send infiltrators, social manipulators, and further elite troops in small numbers (enough to hide their involvement) to get involved in the gang wars to come. Focus on finding gangs that can be either recruited or bribed off... and utterly destroying those Underhive gangs that cannot, using those Gangs willing to bend the knee as a cover for expansion, transforming them from within and without through the power of being the ones with the guns, industry, and food. Infiltrators are to work on undermining those gangs that cannot be made to bend the knee from within, setting them up against each other and against themselves from within, with the Voxx Primus rebels always ready to sweep up the pieces of a gang civil war, rescue the survivors, and expand that way if needed. Additionally, while sending in these other covert experts and so on, also send in five Choirs covertly to strengthen communication and aid in this push, operating carefully and secretively--better not to be noticed than to be noticed when it comes to Psykana… a good choice would be the use of the Perception Melody in order to gather intel about the opposing gangs and any latent Psykers they may find, but generally the Choir's instincts within these bounds are to be trusted.

-[X] [Free] Place 1st Barbarun SAG, 1st Ikatun SAG, 1st Diablan SAG, 1st Brigach SAG, 1st Semumrum SAG, 1st Valhidem SAG, 1st Lights SAG & 1st Labors SAG on Ultima Sigritta for defense against incursion.
-[X] [Free] Switch active ISC to New Dawn R&D

[X] Plan Fortress Doctrine
-[X] [General] Colonize Planets
--[X] Ultima Sigritta - Sira (Mesa and Savannah), Itani - Grubbub (Low Shrubs and Fog), Gnatiila - Smug (Outback and Canyons)
--[X] Sira is to be designated as a Fortress World for the time being, and colonization efforts are to be focused on establishing defenses and military logistics infrastructure as opposed to civilian development
-[X] [Military] Create 8 Blazing Sun War Packs
-[X] [Military] Fill Out Sector Battle Group
-[X] Centaur (1/2)

-[X] [Free] Designate the Ultima Sigritta system as SBG Centaur's Fleet Base until further notice

I'll also say I've got a sweet spot for
[] Plan Fortress Doctrine
because it would be nice to have some more knights. We're going to run into superheavies eventually - such as down south - and having our own ready to go will make that a lot less painful when it does eventually happen. But from a strategic sense, taking Voxx is more important. We gotta focus on our real priorities here, and rely on the automatic Knight ticker.

Though I kind of can't help but lament all of the opportunities we haven't had because of the Voxx infiltration stuff.

4. Upped the SAG and Knight production rate. The Knights will only be there this Turn.

Cooky doubled the Knight Production Rate from 4 War-Packs to 8, but only for this turn-unlike the SAGs, which we can now make 6 of instead of 3, the Knights boost will revert if we don't take it this turn, presumably because we're unlocking some kind of Automated Knight Production ticker next turn (which we will likely also neglect for 2 centuries or so cause 'we don't need it right now) by Cooky's decree.

...the point of an automatic progression is that even if we neglect it we'll still get at least some Knights.

Does anyone think it's a good idea to start giving instructions to infiltrate the Voxx Primus PDF and Defense Stations in 2 or 3 turns?
Peon In A Balaclava: "Need moare foundation, bossz. No assetz in zee Upper Hive, little accezz to crucial equipment. Give uz five moar decades uninterrupted funding."

...Do we even have a foreign intelligence agency? Formally? Or at least a body responsible for that? It'd be useful to have an organization plugging away at intelligence projects in the background.

But yeah, we specifically when we skipped doing Voxx Primus one action every two decades were told that they'd hold on but that it'd do damage/slow down their ability to expand meaningfully, but that it could be recovered if there's an action every three turns.

Now, it being two turns after the last Voxx Primus action we did, I point out that this is in fact the pace we need to do Voxx Primus actions at if we don't want it to specifically suffer.

We've also been told to our face that conquering Voxx Primus will be massively, outrageously harder if we don't have an ongoing insurrection to help us.

My reading of what Cooky said earlier in the day was that the Knight Automation will be an action we have to invest in to get the process started, available to us next turn, and I have somewhat dubious faith in the thread to actually pick it since we've let Destroyer Automatic Production languish for like 300 years.

If I'm wrong, I'll be pleasantly surprised, but even then if it's a faster rate of progress than our Melodies to get new Knights I'll be incredibly shocked.

This turn we are currently voting on is the second turn since we last did a Vox Prime action, so if we push back the one you propose for this turn to next turn then we're still within the 'at least one action every 30 years/3 turns' window Cooky gave us for keeping things rolling at a decent pace on the planet.

I agree that we want to wait until we've got massive amounts of support from the lower hive denizens of Vox Prime, but I don't personally see any need to rush things there to the detriment of strengthening ourselves in other areas that will be helpful for things past conquering a single hive world.

Rolling at a decent pace isn't how I'd see it described. It was literally that it would suffer and would grow measurably and notably slower, but wouldn't die or anything like that.

Like... once every two turns isn't fucking rushing ourselves!

By the way, that's not even REMOTELY what what HeroCooky said came off as. The post he rated where I suggested it was comparing it to the Chapter, where they automatically got progress every turn whether we took them or not!

Allow me to quote HeroCooky from the last time we neglected Voxx Primus.

They can deal with things on their own for this turn, but there'll be a notable slow-down of their Actions as they'll have to rely on mostly Voxxian industry and resources to expand.

We're already talking about a timeframe of, "With an action every other turn it'll probably be 2-3 centuries, maybe more" and you're like, "Oh yeah, we should change to doing it every three decades"

As a complete aside, Melodies wise, I think we'd really want Grounding sooner or later.

Because it sounds like the perfect tool for handling backlash Choirs face, and allow them to try bigger rituals without dying.
Stuff like "one Choir throws a big fire spell that would char their lungs, but there is another 3 Choirs to ground that into a comfortable body-wide 2nd degree burn for everyone involved" type of deal, possibly.

Or, you know, allowing us to throw 20 Choirs at the Research Song. Would be nice.

Could even unlock some kind of psychic grounding rod kinda thing. "Light resistance to psychic backlash", maybe ship equipment, allowing our wizards to go unlimited power without rolling a full bucket of dice on the miscast table.

It has potential to be mitigate our main headaches, Song-wise.
