By my count, a Focus action gives 4 auto successes normally, or 25 (plus Elder Collector bonus) if directed to Laser. (Both numbers before Worm or other bonuses.) Ergo, I think we should Focus the Forest on Lasers, and redirect our own actions to compensate as necessary.

[X][Action] Soothe the Hostile Fleet to mess with their coordination (Psychic)
[X][Focus] Fire the Beam! (Crystal, Light, Magnetic)

1. I want them so calm that they're mildly interested in our lasers instead of concerned.
2. This is perfect practice for our eventual overthrow of the tyranny of the sun, nice.

[X][Action] Convince the Predators to aggressively aid the Forest

Making sure our friendly predators are actively stopping the missiles for us would be nice. Rather than waiting until they start hitting for it to happen.

Missing an "[Action]".
The forest has spoken! Arm up to the leaf and take no prisoners!

Edit- By the way, anyone want to guess what these guys look like? I'm thinking bird people.
I'm thinking dog.

Haaaah. I was hoping we'd keep the SAPLing trump card up our sleeve till it's time but I see it's just not going to happen.
What are we actually targeting by the way?

Okay, finally caught up, not sure what kind of tree to go for, but holy shit, uh.

Let's hope funny plant Kaiser isn't here, because the Katown Imperium is a very famous Stellaris title.

There may be funny lego cats out there in the long dark with that name being tossed about.

[X] Erect the Shield! (Magnetic)

So, important observation, assuming I made no math errors, we have 39 dice on erecting the shield, not counting the person who seems to have voted for every action by mistake. That is probably enough, depends if the 100 dice missile volley we saw last turn is considered a major blow for them or a minor one.

I think it's enough that we can be sure we won't evaporate, but there are at least vaguely feasible worst-case scenarios where we take a little bit of damage. Though somewhat unlikely, they don't think we're a threat so are unlikely to pour much fire into us, and after we pour fire into them I suspect they will be notably less dangerous.

Ah, zog it.

[X] Mind Tree

[X][Action]:Work with the Research Base to crash-examine captured Missiles (General)

Best I can do, not sure on focus given we're already going full burn on focus: LAZOR!

So voting for that feels a bit silly. I might vote for Focus later if that changes and we get another focus.

Now, for Important Music for what we're doing:

I assume our target depends on how much dice we pour into it. Given what we're doing... I kind of think we're firing a Perdition Beam at their dreadnought and attempting to blot it out of existence like the fist of an angry god. Which, as the opening move of a fight, should probably make the remainder of the fleet think about their life choices.

Can you explain the reference for those of us who aren't cool?

...they don't think we're a threat so are unlikely to pour much fire into us, and after we pour fire into them I suspect they will be notably less dangerous.
I think you've got this backwards: They're assuming we're the only credible threat in-system right now. Whether that proves accurate largely depends on how effective the cats' reverse-engineered shields are, I feel.

It almost certainly means they'll be prioritizing us over everything else, though.
