Attempting to Survive the Apocalypse: Dimensional Dislocation

Oh, uhh, those are the in game sprites used for the units. Not quite to size.

Well, the Jupiter Cannons aren't anyway, most of the others are I think.

The Manticore sprites are decently close to their actual height with how the Aegis units are human sized.
Ah, I see. And praytell, what game is this? Is it only a game, or is their some kind of literature-based source material as well?

All the units shown, Dolls as a concept, Precia and Lycoris, collapse fluid (minus the dimension breaking, though ELIDs are still a thing)... lot more littered around (like the company name I.O.P.) are from GFL.

I hope they don't screw over the anime, it'll be a good intro for people coming so late to the game. Also the game is a gacha game. And its a bit time/attention intensive to push through it as well.

Wouldn't recommend tbh. Good game, but not good enough to play just for understanding the setting for this quest.

Girls Frontline. It mostly a game with some extra media stuff around it. An anime is coming out soon.
Oooh, I see. The game is probably time-consuming, but I'll try it over the weekend.

Mmmh, I think I've got a better understanding. I hope for the sake of the fans the anime turns out well. Asashi Productions seems to be doing it, so I have faith it'll be interesting, to say the least.

Crap it's a gacha game, I can't do that.

I see. Well, such is the fate of games turned animes. Especially with something like Fate/Stay Night, or Fate/Ataraxia, or whatever they call their convoluted timelines.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but maybe don't give us pity on near misses? That feels kind of antithetical to the anxiety of planquest.

Unless you're doing like Blackstar and the pity is really secretly just moving on without properly finishing, leaving errors and fuck ups behind. In which case, carry on, a fine tradition indeed.

Also totally gotta plot with the Russians against America. Not like we're heading towards a coup anyway.

We've already more or less soft couped the EU civilian leadership with the various European militaries coming together to tell the politicians (quietly) to sit down and shut up while they work to save as much as they can.

Would I really do that without telling you?
: )

But what of the innocent american citizens? Should they suffer for the misinformation that the overseers they set over themselves have given them? How would the citizens of our own country feel about hearing that on the news? In trying times like these the people must unite together. Not sow discord.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the contact with our Russian counterpart more or less going behind both our respective governments' backs to do Science! to save humanity?

We are not aiming for going against the US. All we are doing is getting in contact with our opposite in Russia and trying to find ways to collaborate for the salvation of humanity. Of course if the lengths to which we are willing to do so is revealed we'd probably be accused of being a traitor. But oh well.

If we can rope the American counterpart into this, then all the better. Our true foe is the Collapse and the ELID and the interdimensional creatures. Not each other.

@aceraptor I don't know...maybe my reading comprehension has dropped in the lat few months, but I'm twenty two percent sure this means to be against America.

I mean hey, if they want to get technical, they're the one who forced our hands to do this. They even had the Foundation make a shortlist! WE're just trying to save humanity, the primary objective. Or at least, what the primary objective should be.

Tentative turn planning to talk about until the next post is up:

Infrastructure (4 Dice)
[] Expand Foundation Headquarters (Stage 1) (31/75: 15 Resources per Die +3 Housing +3 Food +3 Water -3 Power) 1 Dice (Inf)
[] Expand Barracks (Stage 1) (0/50: 5 Resource per Die +1 Operations Dice -1 Housing, -1 Food, -1 Water -10 Ammunition -10 Logistics) (-5 Political Support for each turn not taken) 3 Dice (2 Inf)
[] Maintenance Facility (Stage 2) (85/100: 5 Resources per Die +7 Maintenance -5 Labour) 1 Dice (Inf)
[] Foundation Electrification (Stage 2) (69/100: 15 Resources per Die +20 Fuel -30 Power) 1 Dice (Free)

Industry (4 Dice)
[] Low-Upkeep Power (Stage 1) (7/25: 5 Resources per Die +10 Power) 1 Dice (Ind)
[] ALR-51 Development (0/300: 5 Resources per Die) (+3 Incremental Increase per Quarter) 4 Dice (2 Ind +2 Free)
[] Munition Foundries (Stage 1) (0/50: 10 Resources per Die -10 Power +10 Ammunition +3 Logistics -5 Labour) 1 Dice (Ind)

Services (6 Dice)
[] Automation Intensification
-[] Infrastructure (Stage 2) (62/75: 5 Resources per Die +1 Infrastructure Dice +3 Labour -2 Power) 1 Dice (Serv)
-[] Industry (Stage 2) (0/75: 5 Resources per Die +1 Industry Dice +3 Labour -2 Power) 2 Dice (Serv)
[] Personal Assistants (0/100: 5 Resources per Die +1 Free Dice) 3 Dice (Serv)

Military (6 Dice)
[] Light Vehicle Acquisition (0/75: 10 Resources per Die -3 Logistics -2 Maintenance -5 Fuel -10 Ammunition) 3 Dice (Mil)
[] IDCS Network (0/100: 15 Resources per Die -5 Power -2 Labour) 3 Dice (Mil)
???

Operations (1 Dice)
???

Dimensional (4 Dice)
[] Worldwalker (328/400: 5 Resources per Die) 3 Dice (Dim)

Personal (2 Dice)
[] Neural Cloud Backup System (0/200) 2 Dice (Personal)

The above is generally what I'm feeling like, of course when the actual turn is posted it could upend everything. But still.

Infrastructure gets all the free die because we really need to expand facilities to fix the deficits before everything comes crashing down. Expand the barracks is a high priority because we can't afford to lose anymore PS if we want to investigate the assassination attempt. The dice are admittedly a bit spread out, but still.

The other stuff I've put down what I think is most useful. Critiques are welcome.

Well since we don't have all the options, I'm going to withhold most of my opinion. I guess the only thing I'd say is to just use 2 Dice on dimensional, and maybe not focus Dice on munition foundrie? Surely there's a better choice than that one, thinking about our current situation. And I don't think sinking 3 Dice into expanding barracks is a good idea, mostly because on average, the roll for 3 Dice would be 150. Blatant overkill for no good reason, and to meet the minimum requirements each dice would need to land on 17. It's really just not worth it, or how I see it at least.

Service will have 6 dice next turn. 2 dice should be fine on the barracks. I think we should put all three of our free dice into ALR-51s.

Ammo is actually our largest deficit right now. Power remains probably the biggest priority, given our trend is consolidating as many stats as possible to run on power, but ammo is substantially in the red. Ditto Maintenance.

I see, I see, but I still feel it's something that could be handled within the next turn. We can use this opportunity to sink dice into larger projects, then use the next turn to further those projects while working on easier ones. But I guess vice versa could happen as well. I do think that it takes less priority (as of now), due to the fact it's militaristic and the Power and Labour deficiencies are directly connected to the economic status.

Barracks is only Phase 1. There's multiple phases to it thus overkill doesn't really matter. Plus after the first phase it may well start giving PS as we make the military happier.

Thanks for the correction,

And yeah, our current stats will be:

Future Foundation Economic Status
Housing: Sufficient (0)
Food: Sufficient (0)
Water: Sufficient (0)
Power: (+14)
Labour: (-13)

Future Foundation Military Status
Operations Dice: 1/1
Logistics: (+7)
Fuel: (-10)
Ammunition: Substantial Deficit (-35)
Maintenance: Substantial Deficit (-27)
Repair Capacity: Small Surplus (8)

I think anyways, someone check my math please.

So we still need fuel, ammo, and maintenance. Labor will be helped by passive increase but we need to increase labour availability via robotics. Energy is as always a problem, 14 power won't last us long.
Economics is in the results update, we're still on a power deficit.
