[X][Action] Erect the Shield! (Magnetic)
I stand by my promise of forever raising the shield.
Remember, it's only paranoia until you're proven right!

Prime's plan seems a prime plan to me.

Hm, some of the newer options seem interesting, but . . .

Plasma Tree hype time (in about 20 turns)!

[X][Action] Research the Plasma Tree (Magnetic)*

[X][Focus] Research Optical Tree (Crystal, Light, Magnetic)*
[X][Focus] Research Optical Tree (Crystal, Light, Magnetic)*x2
[X][Focus] Research the Shaping Tree (Crystal)

I like to have them and not need them rather than need them but don't have them, and plasma trees are a long ways away to get compared to them when we can just swipe em.
But we won't have them. No room. Also
[ ][Action] Research Superconductive Root Network (Magnetic)*
-Samples of superconducting materials transfer energy extremely efficiently between nodes. Implementing a similar system should allow for a drastic increase in action efficiency.
-Effect: All Magnetic-aligned or derived Growth, Survival, Offensive and Defensive actions succeed on a 3, 4, 5, or 6. Automatically implemented.
-Requires 100 successes to research. 0/100

So if you want plasma trees you should research Research Superconductive Root Network.

[X][Action] Attempt to store resources against future need.
Could I perchance convince you to sacrifice to the worm instead? We need a fair few dice going that way this turn and next to make sure we can make space for the plasma trees that'll produce lots of stored resources for later need.

We can get plasma tree research later - but if we don't get superconducting roots in the next 2 turns, we may have difficulty building the space to grow them, or the infrastructure with which to grow them fast. I have a plan for how we need to use our focus actions in the meantime to make it happen, but at the end of it we'll have 30 new spots for trees and be able to pop out over 500 growth in a single turn with focus actions alone; turn 5 could have plasma trees aplenty, if that's what the thread goes for in the turn after next, but your personal action would best help that along if it went towards superconducting roots instead!

-Sun Proximity 1 is in effect. All non-automatic successes have their multiplier increase by 0.1.
Should this be Sun Proximity 2? I could've sworn we started last turn at 1, then moved another light minute closer.

@Raising Kittens Is this a valid research write-in?

[X][Action] Study the Forest's Ecosystem. It is mostly unstudied by the Forest and perhaps something useful to the Forest's goals is contained within it?

Basically the idea is to study our Diverse Ecosystem feature to work out if there's anything useful we can immediately get from it, or if there's anything that might be useful with further development.

You've got a Special Tree for that. It's gated behind Elder Shaping Tree, Elder Soothing Tree, and Crystal Formation. It lets you command the denizens of the Forest in exchange for feeding them - this provides light infantry equivalents, which can be commanded to act within or near the Forest... as a Communication action.

Another Tree lets you simply make more, and upgrades let you make better ones. Heavy Infantry equivalents and hover transport equivalents, leading into hover tank equivalents and full-up Strikecraft at Venerable, and stronger stuff as you advance further.

Should this be Sun Proximity 2? I could've sworn we started last turn at 1, then moved another light minute closer.

Another light-minute closer will get you to two, the one after that to three, and the one after that to five... but it'll be harder to cross that distance.

Glory to the Worm! It provides, we nurture. It loves, we bask. Satisfy the Worm and partake in its gifts my fellow saps.

I have no idea what the deal is with the sun. I only worry about a flare hitting us due to high activity but dunno how likely that'd be. Eh.

If an invading force comes through the portal I'd say hitch a ride onto the comet passing by if we can. While seeing how we do in a fight really really appeals to me (FULL POWER TO SHIELD!) I don't want the Forest to be weak while a big Ingaba fleet decides to go back any deal we'd make for slowing down some invaders. I'm pessimistic when it comes to the meatbags.

If the comet isn't viable then... using the sun to slingshot ourselves???

Anyhow Forest upgrade huzzah!

We could try for researching "Efficient Root Systems", it would give us room for more special trees a lot faster (only 75 to research). If we give it a concerted effort we could finish it in one, two turns maybe.

Following the plan, we'll complete mag5 in 3 turns and mag6 in 4. Root systems can be done at any time, but we only have 4 turns to exploit high sun activity, and we'll want superconducting roots to help make the most of that.

Anyways, Kittens has clarified that HDP applies to storing resources and sacrificing to the worm, so that should give an effective total multiplier of 3.4 to the latter action. Thus, to keep pace with the turn 2 completion deadline we'll want at least 20 dice on feeding the worm this turn (more is better).

Im fine with feeding the worm but how sure are you that the worm will grant these super conducting roots you want?
