Also sounds like past civlizations probably made a similar pact with either the worm, or the End Of The Cycle...and god fucked over by them.

Space whale(?) is a great big barrel of nope! Even the non trees are scared of that thing! They have means of defending themselves and are capable of moving at a pace that isn't measured in solar cycles.

It is this tree's opinion that being able to get the hell out of dodge as fast as possible should be made a top priority.

Decided to see how many research successes our tranquil trees will nab us.

Each die is basically a 1/2 chance to get a success, so an xd6 die will be represented by 0.5 successes for this calc.
Code:
5/2 * 6 trees    = 15   (research trees)
4/2 * 6/2 trees  = 6    (Elder mind trees assuming 1/2 does research)
2/2 * 19/2 trees = 18.5 (mind trees assuming 1/2 does research)

2(worm) * (15+6+18.5) = 79 avg research successes per turn
Tranquil trees generate an additional 10% successes, so each will produce approximately 8 research successes each turn assuming a round-up. We're at magnitude 3, so we can grow 3 for 24 free research on average each turn.

3 focus actions will generate 45 towards growing some, we need 20 each, and we have 3 successes already banked, so assuming focus wins we need 12 growth successes applied towards making tranquil trees this turn.

Shouldn't be too hard to manage.

if we focus on this this turn then we will be getting 20 growth successes per focus action, making it easier to grow trees in future.
At the cost of consuming yet more ST slots.


Tranquils do seem like they would be extremely useful. Them having their own specific cap-per-mag is rather indicative of their value.

i'd like to put forth that some of the growth oriented trees should focus on the worm. its our most unique "tree" and has given some very significant bonus's so far. i'd like to keep it happy and feed it so we can keep said bonuses.

But isn't feeding the Worm a Survival action? I don't mind, but the Heart Trees are better at it than us.
