Okay, hear me out here.

So this seems like a vicious and disturbing choice, but I think it has surprising depth to it.

@Arthellion is this Anakin acting as a somewhat callous and disturbed Dark Side using child who is ruminating on what happens when ONE goes straight for what they desire without forethought?

Or is this Anakin just going 'Hey! There's a squirrel, let's kill it!'?

Voting for Dun Moch or Niman next voting block, but I want Dooku Bonds and to make him happy with our dueling progress. The old man deserves it.

[] [Social] Use The Force to reach out to the stunningly beautiful woman who felt like Death and find out more about her. Then ask her if she could see herself with a younger man. If the answer is yes, and she isn't lying, offer to talk to her and keep her company to pass the time as you grow more mature and powerful. Finally, ask her out on a date to be collected once you reach the age of at least 18, Master The Force, and become a Force God.

@Arthellion I think this is a pretty good one and should also count as Force Training :D
I left out any mention of Sith Lord Bunny Waifu's for your sanity's sake.

Still the Hapan don't seem like the type to fight for the betterment of the galaxy. Unless everyone here is confident we can use them up then stab them in the back without them figuring things out?
This. The Hapans are, ultimately, a pretty selfish lot convinced of their own superiority. They didn't care about the Clone Wars and they didn't care about the rise of the Empire. Convincing them to help us is possible yes, but what are they going to want in return?

And stabbing an ally in the back doesn't exactly send a good signal to our other allies.

They don't have to send us their entire fleets. Just putting the hurt on the hyperlanes that they live near will likely do a lot to hurt the Republic.

Yeah. They have a culture based on promotion via assassination, which is very Sith-like. I can see Anakin making the connection and shying very far away from them.

Ehh I think you're making a false correlation

The assassination/Machiavellian politics do not appear to be entirely the guiding principle of Hapan society. It's more certain individuals at the ruling class. Very prevalent but its not the core ideology like the Sith.

For example Ta'a Chumes sons were both kind and good hearted men.

The guiding principle of Hapan society is Hapan survival and prosperity

Show the Republic threatens that survival or that your faction offers better prosperity then you're solid

Also....

Don't underestimate Space!Jesus. After all, he just completed revenge on a Sith Lord at the age of 11...

Well thats the trick isn't it? Showing that the Republic threatens their survival and prosperity. Supposing we did manage to get them involved. What's to guarantee that the Republic wouldn't make them a better offer? One that even better guarantees their survival and prosperity.

Anyway, the Hapes Consortium don't really have a stake here. They're off doing their own thing, and have been pretty happy doing that until now. Getting them involved would probably require something like a false-flag operation, which can easily backfire. Lastly, they don't bring much to the table militarily. While their Nova class battle cruisers are pretty good, their Battle Dragons, which probably make up the bulk of their fleet kinda stink.

Considering their military repulsed the Empire a couple times I'd hardly say they stink. Use a battle dragon as a capital ship to take out other caps and protect it with a fleet of star fighters...like pretty much every Star Wars naval battle

Their navy is arguably better than the ORSF which is basically the best the Republic has at the moment.

It should be noted that those "weaknesses" were noted in the imperial era when ships were more advanced.

The Republic really only has 3 ships better than the Hapan ships and those are the Mandators

Finally beggars can't be choosers

They probably had a hyperspace lane chokepoint(s) where they only had a guard a few entrances to their system. They were basically an entrenched enemy, which would've taken the Empire a whole lot of effort, for relatively little gain, especially when there were softer targets elsewhere.

The Hapes Cluster is surrounded by the Transitory Mists, who are pretty difficult to navigate.

Sector 09.

And yup which means perfect place from which to send out raids at the very least

Don´t forget that the Hapes Consortium former queen was a major Anti-Jedi ruler and her daughter inherited that hatred. The jedi are not beloved inside that Cluster.

One point that was not mentioned is that they have an established officer corps and military leadership. Another is their massive wealth, which made their currency a higher value than that of the New Republic.

Aye. What's weird is it's never explained why they hate Jedi?

Their reasons for hating the Jedi are flimsy at best though.

"Oh noez, those ebul Jedi killed our ancestors for being murderous pirates! Woe is us!"
I don't believe that was ever stated to be the reason in canon. The Jedi did kill their ancestors but that was so long ago it makes no sense to them tohate the Jedi bc of that...

Especially when that basically meant the pirates who ruled the women were gone.

My personal Theory is Sidious shenanigans but it's never really stated why they hate Jedi in canon...
