I can't remember if it was mentioned before but does our relationship with Dooku passively improve as time passes along side our training?

In the short term I think we'd appease Areth by acquiescing and staying within the hangar. But we do need to eventually branch out on our own, and I think it'd serve Anakin better in the long term with Areth to develop some degree of controlled independence without being a complete nuisance.
We'll need to earn his respect eventually to get his loyalty. In particular, staying put may make his job easier, but it won't address the roots of his annoyance with Anakin, i.e. that Anakin is someone undeserving of the Dooku name or nobility or something like that.
Now that the option has been amended to include playing with T'da as well that knocks out two short-term ambitions, so I'm more amenable to it.I'm not against going with Carly right now if we choose to also work on our relationship with Areth. I just don't understand going with Carly now, which will likely change her from acquaintance to friend, and also choosing to hang out with Carly in the same update. I just think we need to focus on fixing our relationships with Padme and Areth, rather then spending another 6 months with Carly.
Very strong military, isolationist state, limited use of Basic.
As I understand it, most of the speakers don't speak Basic, while they belong to a polity that's fairly strong and defensive.

Language training comes with knowledge of history and culture as well. Languages will be limited. I also think (personally) that since Anakin has the time now, might as well use it to study something a bit more obscure whereas Twi'leki and Shyriiwook may be feasible options later.
Behind the scenes
According to the Essential Atlas, the Hapes Consortium was a "independent affiliate" of the Galactic Empire, during the Empire's rule over the galaxy. According to other sources, the Consortium was isolated from the rest of the galaxy during the reign of the Empire and of the Galactic Republic.
The ships are more important The battleships that is
It's pretty clear what they COULD bring to the table, if Anakin can wrangle it. Admittedly, a lot of our CHA rolls have been pretty shit, but can they last forever? Can it? ... Maybe? No, I get that and I know who they are. But they're isolationist, sexist, and as mentioned, most don't speak basic. Not sure why they'd want to join us or why we'd want them to join us.
It sounds like they were too isolated/too difficult to bother with conquering by the Empire. Not sure what they're bringing to the table here.
Battle Dragons featured a unique dual saucer-shaped hull 500 meters in diameter with a central core connected by sixteen rotation support struts. The ships were armed with forty ion cannons and forty turbolaser batteries affixed to rotating circular sections on the top and bottom hull plates. To compensate for slowly recharging weaponry, the disc would rotate to bring fresh guns to an enemy while the previously used guns recharged their capacitors, which the Hapans viewed as a more efficient use of firepower.[3]
In addition to the rotating weapon emplacements, Battle Dragons were armed with ten proton torpedo tubes, tractor beam projectors, dorsal- and ventral-mounted heavy triple ion cannon batteries and sixteen pulsemass mine launchers. Each Battle Dragon carried three squadrons of Miy'til starfighters or T-65 X-wing starfighters in onboard hangars and a battalion of 500 troops. The ships required a crew of 1,200 and 190 gunners.
FlawsEdit
Battle Dragons were discovered in battle to have had two serious flaws: firstly, the drive system could be damaged, crippling the vessel. Secondly, the designers intended for the Battle Dragon to be used en masse, against very few targets. With that end in mind, they skimped on targeting computers, putting in only four of them.
General Cracken discusses the potential threat of the Hapes cluster
The effect was to offer outstanding performance against a single target but was useless against a group of targets. Tactics for a lone Battle Dragon against a group were little more than the Dragon choosing a vector and throwing a wall of energy in that direction, hoping that random hits would allow the Dragon to escape, so poor were the few targeting computers' performance against a mass of targets.
A lot of warships are suboptimal when fighting in situations they were not designed or intended for.
The Hapan are such assholes though. Someone mentioned Sy Bisti earlier, we should get that. Chiss alliance FTW
Yeah, the Hapan Battle Dragon isn't what we want though. What they really bring on the table is the Nova Battle Cruiser, which is quite a powerful ship, even if it's more of a Frigate rather than the Battle Dragon. The Nova would be the ship with which they would raid the Republic lines and offer us support. Although I will acknowledge that many of the systems and areas we have near the core are dangerously focused on lighter ships, and those are the ones that will be supplying most of the Greater CIS with warships. On this, the Battle Dragon offers more potential as a flagship rather than a pure damage craft, although it can still field its many guns on enemy capital ships or singular targets with good results.
On this note, it's easy to think of the mighty mass of a galactic-strength military and consider something like a planetary fleet very limited. But that tremendously large military is very much the agglomeration of the resources of hundreds or thousands (or whatever the number is) of the allied systems, with some differences for the case of an established government like the Republic that will be drawing upon the clones. The accumulation of a lot of little fleets and resources, especially ones with different strengths and uses, adds up. That will especially be pertinent if we choose not to rely on the megacorps and their droid factories in order to wage war.Yeah, the Hapan Battle Dragon isn't what we want though. Yep. The realities of our Year 1, the name by which I refer to the first year of the Galactic War, will be that our military will not yet be organised or properly trained. The ground forces will take time to be properly outfitted and trained, while the fleets will contain many lighter cruisers, frigates, and corvettes. On this note, it's easy to think of the mighty mass of a galactic-strength military and consider something like a planetary fleet very limited. Forget Hess. What does shatterpoint tell us about@Arthellion Would you like us to compress all the "Go with the Girl" votes into a single one or is it alright that some have the ("required a motivation check")?
Also, what does shatterpoint tell us about Hess?
