Star Wars: The Chosen One (An Anakin Skywalker Quest)

...Mm. Actually, tempted to just go dual normal sabers with a special crystal. 2 CP is actually a lot to drop on just changing a bonus from Wisdom to some other stat given how Wisdom is the Force uberstat and works well with telekinetic sabering, and on a more vanity-focused note the only pics I can find for Anakin dual wielding sabers have his sabers with normal hilts. Still advise Bondar crystals though. Int is good stuff and sadly Wisdom is ONLY good for telekinetic sabering.

Yeah, it would be difficult to fight someone with preparation, especially if they fight in a forested area. The Jedi would be able to cut it apart with a Lightsabre, but it would mostly for distraction, or catching the limbs.

Would a Jedi be able to control in with the force though? Coil the wire around their enemies limbs while attacking them with their Lightsabre.
There's lightsaber resistant metals. And that level of telekinesis? Maybe.

Plant surge/ plant control does the whole "entrap and envelope a leg thing."

Ask the QM?

I think a single saber is the way to go (with perhaps a cortosis glove as someone suggested). So many combat Force powers seem to require the guidance of a hand - push, lightning, etc - and I feel like Anakin should be well up for it. Let's be honest - he doesn't *need* a second saber or saber-staff; none of the real Force-using badasses seem to.

Plus, saving a bit of CP to get some of those perks faster is probably more of an asset than a second lightsaber. Two CP is enough to (referencing the last list) get two +5/+6 to stats, tell Dooku about the two holocrons, Force or Saber prodigy, a bit under a third of the way to Balance Questline step*... plenty of things. Let Anakin pick up a second saber if he goes for an appropriate advanced class or finds a teacher skilled in them.

*Although if my suspicions about it being one of the two now-deceased Jedi that Anakin feels for are correct, I would perhaps delay this for when he's at his Darkest - just for thematics and maximum guilt on his part :p

How about we pick a red lightsaber now and a purple one later,

edit: Or just purple. I'm fine with just purple since it's a combination of red and blue.

Look how good we look with one lightsabre. No need for two, we can always get another later. Save the CP.

Also if I remember correctly...the 1st time we used 2 lightsabers we lost our hand and the 2nd time we killed our current master and really started down the path to becoming a Sith Lord.

1 lightsaber for the win, but I don't mind the (Loki) 'Peasant beating' cane idea.

Very nicely written :). The main issue I see is Sidious using the Force to enhance his own life and figure out a path to take over the child's body or take immortality. Perhaps a mention on Anakin being the Chosen One and Sidious realizing that. Or maybe a comment on how he has so much knowledge but to get at the true secrets was not simple task.
Minor edits to address some issues.

What we do need to work on is armor. I like my limbs the way they are, and I do not want to be put in a sub-par suit because we were being lazy, or have a sadistic master.

The important thing to have are saber-resistant gloves, particularly focused on where the hand meets the wrist. It's Star Wars, the Jedi wound is the loss of a hand.

Although mastering TK saber style and keeping hands behind one's back might work as well...

As much as I'd love dual lightsabers -- and as much as I prefer that in KOTOR -- I'm tentatively inclined to agree. CP is valuable, Jar'Kai is a special lightsaber style we won't develop for a long while, and we can always build a second one later.

Incidentally @Arthellion, will it be possible to swap out the color crystal later on? (That is, could we pick a purple saber now, then later if we pick up a second saber, we could swap it out so we get dual blades with Blue and Red?

Also, I very much agree that we should stick with a 'normal' hilt -- +2 Wisdom is nothing to sneeze at, and spending one CP just to change that bonus to some other stat is a serious waste of CP. Frankly, it's a stretch to buy a special crystal for our saber -- spending one CP for a mere +2 stat boost doesn't seem terribly cost-effective, even if such crystals are awesome. (Consider as well: if we are exploring the galaxy, what are the chances we'll find a crystal of our own later on?)

Still, the whole lightsaber debate is for next update. This one is deciding our Jedi class; that should be our focus for the moment....

Only personal preference here...but Normal and shoto is my choice.
Red and blue.

Our son Luke kicked tail with a shoto against Lumiya.

Just to clarify, Jar'kai will be unlocked if you choose Dual Saber regardless of your class.

And Jar'kai is esoteric.

Meaning you train it like Dun Moch.

So when doing saber Training it would b

Ataru: Jar'kai.

That trains both of them.

Hmmm... how much traveling with Dooku be doing? Having an "explore the galaxy" arc would be pretty welcome, admittedly...

On class - the suggestion of dual-classing Guardian and Consular seems appealing for the reasons given. Granted, again, it's 10 CP, which could pay for... well, quite a lot. Sure, "learn all saber styles and force powers a bit faster" *is* appealing... but note that without some additional perks, only so many things will be trained in a given period of time - and Anakin'd need to be level 5 in both to get that advantage.

I still think that Sentinel is underrated and should be basically locked in. We've already seen how useful 'Mental AC' can be, and +6 to all skills would make us incredibly competent all around, not just in Force abilities. Anakin has the chance to become a true heir to galactic nobility; let's not waste it. Guardian gives us an edge for physical stats and lightsaber training, but I was persuaded that a Consular build would be better for us as an aspiring diplomancer.

[X] [Class] Dual Class (-10CP): Sentinel/Consular

So, I decided to make a pair of thematic saber plans:

[] [Saber] Plan Elegant Weapon
-[] Single Saber: 0CP
-[] Normal: +2 Wisdom (0CP)
-[] Upari: +2 Strength (1CP)
-[]Purple

A purple blade to signify the combination of red and blue that indicates balance between light and dark and calls back to Mace Windu's saber and his Shatterpoint ability. A normal grip for wisdom, and an Upari crystal for strength, to symbolize the defining goals of the Jedi and Sith respectively.

edit: For the image, I found one with a simple cylindrical hilt, to represent Jedi aloofness and asceticism, but with a wrapped leather grip to symbolize his rougher edges and his upbringing in a comparatively primitive part of the galaxy.

[] [Saber] Plan Civilized Age
-[] Dual Saber: 2CP
-[] Crossguard Saber: +2 Strength. 1Cp
-[] Upari: +2 Strength. 1CP
-[] Red
-[] Normal: +2 Wisdom. 0CP
-[]Kasha: +2 Wisdom. 1CP
-[] Blue

This one takes the theme and runs with it, like... Anakin's sabers are literally named Wisdom and Strength - with builds that reflect their names. Again, they reflect the philosophies of the Jedi and Sith, and are meant to symbolize how he wields the Light Side and the Dark side - switching between the two or wielding them simultaneously but always keeping the two in balance. In this case, the idea is that Anakin can wield them in combination or separately depending on the type of style he wants to use during an encounter.

Their appearance echoes their themes: Wisdom is humble and unassuming, built with a sort of zen aesthetic that echoes the Jedi's ascetic lifestyle. Strength is brutal and functional with all sorts of technological looking stuff on it as as result of needing more frequent maintenance to deal with it's high output blade.
