Since we AREN'T considered the Chosen One by the Jedi/Qui-Gon, we will be stuck as a Padawan.

Yeah, I don't want to become a Jedi. I want to try out and explore the other Force Sects. Honestly, the Jedi also seems to be too restrictive for us. I want to do more than follow along the canon story track.

Finding info on other Force sects is probably easier as a Jedi Initiate, with access to all the Jedi knowledge on those sects, than as a hermit on Bunduki training Teras Kasi.

Or you make different choices and are knighted before attack of the clones...it could happen.

It would be part of your basic training as a Jedi initiate. You learn the history of the order. According to the WIki: :Aside from their class work, students were expected to know the layout of the Temple by heart, as well as the names and histories of the Jedi memorialized in the Temple. It was vital that Jedi be not only aware of their history, but intimately familiar with the tradition and philosophies of the Order."

Their are dice in this game and with that comes random chance. Our meta knowledge helps but is not key. Currently we are playing Anakin as a self insert rather than a real character. Following cannon so closely and modifying to so that we get what we want feels lazy as well as repedative. We have trodden the beaten path of Jedi before. It always seems to revolve around them being a story point. Why do this when in fact we can be anything we want to be.

Also an IC reason for picking Zen.

Anakin has known master Zen for say 2 years and have had the chance to bond with her and learn. Now with her offer coming like this it shows how much importance this means to her. Otherwise she would have offered it earlier. With the Jedi showing up and offering us the way forward to complet a long standing ambition shows how little we care for Teras Kais, but also for her.

This quest is great. Kudos to the GM.

I'm kind of worried that the frustrated choice will lead to Anakin's canon whininess about how everyone's holding him back and he's the greatest thing ever, but I'm hoping this makes him more focused and determined.

I want to derail canon entirely by not having Anakin at the Battle of Naboo. It would be great to forge our own path and develop our own order and teachings. Also, we can go the charismatic revolutionary route and free the slaves. Arden Lyn would be able to teach us how to command armies.

Will we be able to maintain correspondence with Qui-Gon and Padme while training with Zan? They might not even want to speak with the random boy they met one time, but Qui-Gon might be interested in sharing his point of view on the Force to repay his debt and we can befriend Padme.

we will have a proper emotional support structure we might have a more strict master who doesnt hesitate to set us straight rather than big bro obi wan
and goodness knows how many more ways different if we manage to not get qwi-gon killed as the qm has also stated there are severl au elements that can drasticlly change everything
if youre talking clone wars then thats supposed to happen anyway with or without us

You're ignoring the fact Art is already blatantly changing shit, such as de aging several characters, to change canon. And that already a lot of people are making plans to leave with whatever followed we can pick up as soon as possible.

Some people are making that argument though and it's actually really insulting. You're a hell of a GM from what I've seen. They should have a lot more faith.

They should also use their heads and remember we can go back to be trained by Zan after leaving the Order but now is our only chance to become a Jedi.

When is the vote going to close btw?

Also, why do so many people think something is better just because it's "non-canon"? You guys do realize there's a possibility we'll be on Bunduki for maybe a decade? Is that your definition of "fun"?

We can't go off on our own until we are a Knight.
32 BBY, current date
22 BBY, Start of Clone Wars, Anakin Knighted
19 BBY, Order 66, Empire Forms
It took 10 years in canon and Anakin was only knighted since everyone else died. We are going to start off as a Padawan 3 years from now, which is 29 BBY. That gives 7 years before the Clone Wars to become a Knight. Highly doubt we will get knighted any sooner unless we kill a Sith or two. We also can't leave until we become a Knight. There was a lot of drama at this period of time about that. I put up a link earlier about a mother who wanted her child back from the Jedi but they said no.

Even if we take 5 years, which would be a miracle, that only gives us 2-5 years with another sect before Palpatine starts purging everyone and chasing after us. Yeah.....not worth the drama of being ruthlessly hunted.

As for learning about other Force sects at the Temple......that is pointless. The Emperor will purge all the other sects. There is literally no time to go and speak to them and the Emperor will be after us like a Sith on a mission. People are treating this like the Old Republic, but it isn't. There is a very real time constraint and threat from Palpatine. People think we can just go do whatever, like in one of the games, but the Jedi are all about rules and following the rules and cutting out emotions. There won't be side adventures, and if there are we would be punished, which means not allowed to take the trials until we learned XYZ.

So are we ignoring the fact that'd be boring and the GM wouldn't let that happen? And we're also ignoring all the shit Padawans got into throughout the series. Ashoka went to war. Aayla fought a Sith. Anakin went around tracking assassins....

either way theyre both force sects and will be targeted at least with quigon we can have hardened warriors who have fought dark jedi and possibly yoda helping us the other ic would probbly be taken by suprise
