Star Wars: The Chosen One (An Anakin Skywalker Quest)

And now they have a corrupt and weak senate as well as a leadership which cannot effectively protect areas in the Rim. They'd be willing to look the other way in many cases, they know what's going on, many masters have seen it. They don't like it but they don't have any power, thus would be a way to stop it they'd initially be reluctant to stop.

The size and power of the corporations and the Hutts would lead to sanctions if Jedi start interfering in the local affairs on worlds. Palpatine will definitely take any chance to crush the Jedi even more than they are. He is going to become Supreme Chancellor, no matter what we do. By the time we are old enough to make a difference the Clone Wars will have started. Unless every other Jedi with us learns Force Stealth and is willing to let the Jedi be killed off, he will track us down. Better to avoid all that drama.

[X] [Story] Leave with Master Zan and Join the Followers of Palawa

It's just the more interesting Story choice. In any case, we are the Chosen One and we have to bring balance to the Force. I'm pretty damn sure that the Force will throw Jedi skills/Light Side skills our way sometime in the future to achieve that balance even if we don't go to the Temple. Otherwise, how would we even achieve balance? But the Teras Kasi martial art isn't exactly necessary to be a Chosen One, so it might not come up again, even if Master Zan tells us she'll take us in later (and who's to say we wouldn't be indoctrinated by the Jedi at that point to avoid the Followers of Palawa?).

Come on, guys, don't follow canon so closely! Let's derail canon entirely!

Also, Qui-Gon as a Jedi Master for Ani would probably end up going horribly wrong. After all, look at all the stuff in Jedi Apprentice and what happened to Obi-Wan there. Qui-Gon f-ed him up quite a bit.

Also, who's to say that Ani isn't too old already for the Jedi? He already has attachments and a loving family. Those feelings won't go away. And Qui-Gon has no reason to think that we're the Chosen One (thank the Force!), so there's no real reason for him to fight extra hard for this, to the point of repudiating Obi-Wan. Just because Qui-Gon thinks we'll become a Jedi doesn't necessarily mean that the Council will agree. And by that point we'll probably already be on the Sith radar.

[x] [Personality] Frustrated: I need to be better!

[X] [Story] Write-in: Go with Qui-Gon and join the Jedi. Tell Master Zan about the offer to study at the Jedi academy. Say that it was a dream of ours to become a Knight, but that training under her has been an honor. Ask if, upon passing the Trials, we could come study under her once more. If she says yes, ask her if there's a means to contact her on her home planet and if she has any independent study materials we could use while at the Academy. If she says no, express our regret.

We can learn Teras Kasi while in the Jedi Order. A few Jedi know it.

That's why I said initially. The Jedi will turn on the Jedi Lords we create eventually, by then they'd already have seen the horrors of the rim and the inefficiency of the Order, by the time the Order tried to reel them back in, they'd refuse to abandon the Rim and it's abuses.

We stay with our Lords, growing our power in the Rim away from the Clone Wars. Palpatine will want to corrupt us rather than kill us, so he will probably leave us alone and out of the War, unless we decide to join the Seperatists...

WHAT?!? What kind of magical super power do you think to change over a millennia of tradition, the laws of the Republic which is controlled by a Sith, and while Palpatine will leave us alone during the war, after that he is going to come at us with a massive army and hundreds of battleships. We don't have time to train up power to combat that if we try to go all social.......

Palpatine has all the cards. I would rather not play with him for a long time until we can be sure that we can win.

There are several Jedi on Coruscant who can also teach us Teras Kasi.

We won't immediately get a Master, we'll first go through Jedi Initiate training. After that's over, we can vote for our Master, according to the QM.

Again, different circumstances than canon here. QM said we won't get rejected.

GM said Master Zan would accept us, not that the Followers would accept us. A lot of things can change after even a few years and Master Zan isn't exactly the youngest.

Also, just out of curiosity, why are people so fixated on Anakin joining the Jedi Order? It's not like we actually truly need them to learn the Jedi skills. Actually, the holocron lectures might even be better for us than a personal instructor. A personal instructor would color their teachings with his own views. With holocrons Anakin would probably have to personalize his philosophy/relationship to the Force himself and thus he might actually come up with something different than all the dogmatically fixed orders.

The information in holocrons is likely to be colored by their creator's own views. Like books often are.

Also, we have had a vote on what Anakin's opinion to the Jedi philosophy was. No reason we won't get the same option if our Master teaches us further.

The GM said we fit the Jedi profile better than in Canon. We're highly unlikely at this point to not get in if we go.

Battle Meditation:
Level 1: +2 Intelligence,+ 4 Strategy
Level 2: +4 Intelligence, +6 Strategy, Army/Navy is immune to Demoralization
Level 3: +4 Intelligence, +8 Strategy, Opponent's Army/Navy is demoralized (negative modifiers for Battlefields)
Level 4: +8 Intelligence, +10 Strategy, Army/Navy health is increased by 1.5.
Level 5: +10 Intelligence, +10 Strategy, Army/Navy Combat Strength is double

Do you see this beauty? I want all of it!!

Hmm...perhaps. Though, that's not necessarily a good thing. Though most Jedi were heroic characters, they were also pretty...well, boring, in their dogma-filled Jedi way. That our Anakin would fit better into that...it, at least, wouldn't make things more interesting. Canon-Anakin was a lot of things and I can't say that he was portrayed all that well, but at least he was conflicted somewhat. Our Anakin, if we continue this way, probably won't get that if he'll fit too well in the Jedi Order. After all, a story only grows interesting and a character grows when there is motivation and conflict that make him do so.

So even if we end up with the Jedi...you guys might keep that in mind? The GM's great and he's giving us choices, but our choices determine whether Anakin is an interesting character or if he'll become just...bland.

I have, waiting until the really esoteric things go up. The time needed for the top levels /sigh. Battle Meditation is only useful if we have a fleet. And you can't use it while using other skills. Force skills tend to either be utility or combat skills. I want more utility skills like Stealth and Healing instead of Battle Meditation and Shatterpoint which only have uses at specific times. Passive buffs, not combat buffs.

Sure seeing an outcome of choices helps, but the future is always in motion. We got a lot of information for this vote which is like a shatterpoint, but things can go any number of directions. I want a Rouge type character, but people seem to want another direction. It is a twap!

We'll probably still end marrying someone(likely Padme, but possibly someone else), which is different from the official view. That might require us to switch to a different Jedi Order which allows such, or the Council might need to make allowance for that.

Primary reason for all the information on this choice is its really your first big choice. I won't be as forthcoming in the future.
