You're the Queen - Now What? [CK2ish Character-Focused Quest]

[X] Plan: Roads Ahead

I can see the value of a spy network in the Varaday Republic beyond just having better odds on clawing back money, but right now I'd rather we get started on the internal spy network. IMO we have delayed this two turns further than it should've been.

The only difference here is the [SECRETS] action and I don't really like either variant. But getting the money back directly lost the last time and I don't think we should prepare for that (we have so much to do and the spy network there just isn't important enough).

[X] Plan: Roads Ahead

The decision has already been decided here and my vote is not the deciding factor (we should have almost reached the end of the voting period), but I want to say that I agree 100% with every other action in the plans.

Since the vote is so overwhelming, I think there's no need to stretch the voting out longer, so it will close in a little under an hour and a half, or so, as that will be 72 hours since the voting opened. I'll do the rolls shortly thereafter, and then put up the next loan repayment vote, etc Sunday or monday.

More for the future than anything, is there any particular [SECRETS] actions you wanted, if these two don't look ideal to you?

Oh yes, I still think we should get the money back as quickly as possible, but without building a network first. But that's a discussion that we've already had here a few times. The sooner we do this, the less interest we have to pay over time and even if the money does not decrease in absolute terms, the relative value of the money to us decreases. But I don't think supporting a network in such a remote country is a high priority, even if there is a bonus on the money action.

If the question was meant independently of this action, then I think the most important thing is the internal network, followed by a network in all neighboring countries, starting with the most militarily/politically powerful.

But it would also make sense to prioritize a network in a country with which we are currently actively conducting diplomacy, more information is always good in something like this and can lead to better deals.

Only after all this would I consider a financial location that is far away.
Even though we increase the probability of one action, we probably don't have any greater added value. (compared to closer targets)

1. There's an extra 's' in the top spoiler bracket that's messing with the formatting.
2. Wow, all but one roll are Strong Successes! So, it does seem like you may want to tweak the percentages a tad, Kylia.

Definitely need to keep fiddling around with the percentages, but things being smoother at the start was something I considered, albeit not quite to this level. Some good results across the board. Sometimes you guys are just allowed to be lucky, too. But it has happened enough times that you can expect any tasks that get added going forward to be what might seem like way too low, but are going to be the result of tweaking and stuff. I may also tweak down some other holdover tasks in the future, but we'll see about that.

You may have noticed some were lower than similar had been before at this point, but still may not have been enough. Though in Rienne's case, she just has great stats in general

[ ]Plan: Debt of a Thousand Cuts Pt 1
-[ ]Pay 10 Dureks to the Royal Bank of Zedarsh
-[ ]Pay 70 Dureks to the Previous Debts Owed By Syrokis

Plan here leaves us 20 Dureks for the upcoming turn and begins chipping away at both the largest Debt and the most high-interest one. Could dip down the Dureks spent but I want to beat Interest while still lowering the overall amount. I want to focus on paying this off in future turns as well, unless anyone has any objections.

If nothing comes up I'd like to consider grabbing that Bridge Loan, or maybe try to snatch the money from Varaday. I suspect events will occur to prevent it being so easy, but it's worth the try.

…Dum bad thought and I do mean DUMB BAD THOUGHT….
Because I'm mulling over some…
Ah, that's how I can put it.
Kissinger realpolitik.
Namely, considering the debts that could do the most damage, instead of purely monetary interest and economics…
Will have to get back to this quest on that though.
…Maybe I should not…

Certainly a valid consideration.

these two strike me as the most likely to have to just grump if we don't pay them.
Of course, the problem is not paying ANYONE will be an issue but like.
Maybe a few generations down the line, these guys could end up peasants yelling at some guard demanding justice and the guard having none of it.
Also less likely to do interest things that make them worse over time…
But.
Not impossible. I bet they might be able to turn those debts over to banks we DO want to be in their good graces as a means of revenge…

More importantly, refusing to pay a debt like that will skyrocket interest rates on all of our loans and make it significantly harder to borrow more money from anyone. Lenders tend not to like loaning money to borrowers who show a willingness to refuse to pay debts.

Still, so long as the wealthy merchants have confidence that we do intend to pay those debts eventually, they should be satisfied watching the interest pile up. We'll be fine so long as we have a good reason to delay payment, like other debts which need to be repaid.

[ ]Plan: Zedarsh and Sykoris (84.75 Dureks)
-[ ]Pay 74.75 Dureks to Previous Debts Owed by Syrokis
-[ ]Pay 10 Dureks to Royal Bank of Zedarsh

Does not quite cover interest this turn but I'm less alarmed by that than previously, still focusing on slightly higher interest debts which might or might not save a quarter-durek, importantly, leaves 20 in treasury in case of shenanigans or sudden costs.

You call this Redhammer and Syrokis but you're paying Syrokis and Zedarsh. Which is your intent?
