It was rough. My dad's MRI results came back and he's got 3 months, maybe 4 left. Then we lost a whole pile of money that, frankly, we couldn't afford to lose. Then my dog, my best friend, got sicker and sicker. I took her to the vet. It cost 300. They couldn't do anything for her, and it was clear she was suffering. I couldn't afford that 300 already, and the cost to euthanize is... a lot. So I took her home, said good bye and I had to put her down. Oh, and my hours at work were cut in half on account of Covid-19.

Honestly, kind of shit all around.

But hey, you're not here for that.
Well, fuck. I have a dog, so I understand. Good luck with all the other stuff in your life, and take care.

I wonder what would happen if someone who knew of Khepri fell into the One Piece world as well? How would the crew react to that?
I'm thinking it's one of two ways.

Scenario one: said person knows about Taylor, both as Khepri and Weaver/Skitter. Here, the newcomer would probably treat Taylor as an information font, and there's also a possibility of a subconscious action of sticking close to Taylor. I mean, for all that she was known as a warlord, she was pretty chill. One example I can think of who would fit here (or as close as a net positive interaction with Taylor) would be Lisa Wilbourn, aka Tattletale.

I think this scenario would garner a net positive reaction from the crew, as Lisa would likely be willing to tell the Strawhats at least part of her shared history with Taylor.

Scenario two: said person only knows of Taylor as Khepri. This would have the polar opposite, the newcomer nearly always shaking in his/her boots whenever she's close, passes by, or merely speaks. A possibility I'm rolling around in my head is Madison Clements: she was basically part of the reason why Taylor Triggered, she would definitely have heard of Skitter becoming a Warlord of Brockton Bay, and no doubt she would have heard about Khepri's face-off against Zion. That Taylor was implied to have been 'taken away' by the 'boogeyman of parahumans/capes (Contessa)' and without any sightings or reports of Taylor's return to Earth Bet, this would have likely given nearly everyone in Bet the idea that Khepri is gone, dead, kaput.

Now imagine just walking down the road one morning, just minding your own business, when the next thing you notice is that you're now on the deck of a ship, no land in sight, and Khepri of all people looking straight at you like you poured orange juice down her mouth after brushing it with copious amounts of mint flavoured toothpaste.

This scenario would create uncertainty with the crew, given that Taylor also has an active Haki (which is a definite power booster on her part).

EDIT:
Forgot the possible crew reactions, added them now.

And on a personal note, my deepest sympathies Raven. The prospect of losing a member of your family is awful, as is losing a furred companion.

So Straw Hat Story Time might be canon? Ota drew a color spread with Robin reading to the group and it is stupidly cute guys. This is obviously further proof that Robin is Taylor's spiritual Mom.

This is problematic because it implies that if only Taylor gets stronger in a straightforward sense then she won't have to make those difficult choices anymore.

We should be trying to move away from just needing more fighting strength.

Instead, she should have the goal of being strong enough to make the right choice. In a way that doesn't hurt her friends as a result. That wouldn't always be the pragmatic path, and it might not be easy, which takes strength of its own kind. This is the goal of living a life one can be proud of. A strength of spirit.

I see it as her thinking of all kinds of strength - fighting prowess, mental stability, wisdom, self-control, assertiveness, influence (political and personal) and so on. All of these things, Taylor was almost backed into achieving when she was Skitter, then Weaver, then Khepri. She had no choice so she upped her game and came out swinging. Here, I can see her wanting to gain a variety of skills (which we are doing), gain more than competence with those skills (which we're doing) and gaining people she can trust and rely on to shore up her weaknesses (which she's doing) so that she always has options that don't necessarily involve her going it alone and overwhelmed and trying to eke out a victory through stubbornness.

At least, that's why I voted for that oath.

@RavensDagger
You have my utmost condolences regarding the passing of your dog, my puppy passed away after 12 years and it tore me apart. Hardest thing I ever did was making the decision and then holding him as he was put to sleep.
Make the most of it, clear the air and say whatever you may have held to your chest. That is, as trite as it sounds, is all I can say regarding your father...sorry. A lesson I've learned even if it doesn't seem like much.

Anyhow. It was a great little addition to the story again, so thank you.

As for the vote:

[X] Become a world renowned entomologist.

I think that the other choices previously mentioned are great for therapy, but a) they're not something concrete like all of the others have and b) have more Worm influence in them than One Piece.

[X] Queenie's goal: raise Host to acceptable levels of everything such that Host:Taylor's awesomeness makes all other Shards and Hosts jealous.

I see it as wanting to be strong enough that she won't need to make difficult decisions. A moral cop out, basically.

Up through Golden Morning Taylor was obsessed with doing what needed to be done, and having the strength to do it.

With Taylor's background, that vote is easily interpreted as, 'I need more power'.

Wich is where we don't want Taylor to be headed exclusively towards.

Let's show that Taylor remembers her regrets, and is looking to grow from them. A clear declaration of wanting to be able to be proud of the life she lives. That implies making choices she can be proud of, which is a sign of that growth. That she is striving to be a better person and friend, and maybe, just maybe....she deserves and can find her own happiness.
